*The Voice* Chapter 8

Jackson's POV

As I was about to speak to Rain's father I heard a voice come into my head. I stood stunned not knowing what to do or what to say. I have my father and alpha Markus looking at me.

"I um have someone talking to me and I don't know who it is, I tell them. Rain's father speaks up.

That might be Rain's wolf, he tells me. I look at him and I ask him what I should do. All he can tell me is to speak to her and with that, he walks away. She speaks again and she's so calm, calm as a baby being put to sleep.

" My name is Sophie I am Rain's wolf I want to thank you for agreeing to take care of us. If you don't mind we will need you to protect us seeing as though we are the last of our kind. After our mother passed that put us in danger. Rain doesn't know anything about us as of yet, she thinks that we are just regular werewolves but we are not. I feel a connection to you and don't know why.

" Hello, Sophie I am sure you know who I am? you are welcome even though there is no need to thank me whatsoever. But how is it that you are sleeping on my lap and I can still talk to you?"

" That is because Rain is asleep and I am awake, I am her wolf but she is asleep. Once we shift our human is dormant depending on how strong they are. Rain's strong I can sense. I can tell you what you want to know but all I ask is can I see and feel your wolf.

I mind-linked my father to contact alpha Markus, he came to me so fast I didn't know what to do. "Jackson, what is wrong? he asked looking at me terrified. "Her wolf asked to see my wolf and to feel him, should I let him out? " You can shift and let him out but don't let him be in control. " Can you stay while I do it? " if that's what you want me to do, I will but link your father before you do. As I am linking my father my wolf is going crazy.

I'm here son, do what you have to in one blink Gage is out, and the next thing I know is that we were laying next to each other, with both my father and hers next to us in wolf form. I wake up and speak to my father to let him know that I'm ok. We all shift and got dressed to talk about what has happened.

As we get ready to walk out the shied Rain well ( Sophie) pops up with a whine and walks to me and sits looking at me." Are you leaving me, Jackson? she asked. I will be back Sophie I have to handle some things, I tell her. Can I come she asked with sad eyes. I look at alpha Markus, we can take a walk in the woods and talk, he says. Would you like that Sophie? She licks my cheek and nods jumping up and down happy.

As we walk I and alpha Markus talk about the event that happened last night and how we are going to handle it and try not to have both packs know what's going on. "So alpha can you please explain more about what is going on?" Well, Rain's mother is from a very rare and hidden pack. It is rare for an ordinary wolf like you and me to be mated to a wolf like Rain and her mother. The way her father explains to me is that the women in their pack are the ones who pick their mates." But how could she or her wolf know about me and my wolf if they have never met me?" The way her mother's father explained it is that their sprite roams. So as you and Rain were babies is when Rain's wolf connected with your wolf so that is how the Moon Goddess connected you and Rain to be mates, the differents is that if you would reject her she can always spot out another mate. we would just have to wait for another to come to us. Have you ever though about how you ended up 2 teritories away from her? I was no coinsedenc Jackson][. Well, alpha Markus I wasn't planning on rejecting her when I first saw her I knew and wanted her to be mine. And i am not one for questioning fate and the reasons as to why we decided to come here. To me it was just a fresh start for my pack and family. As I'm talking to her father I am watching Sophie look at her reflection in the water. As alpha Markus is just looking at me. Then he speaks, she's still in there Jackson she's just resting and if she is as strong as Sophie says she is she will be back to you faster than you know it.
