Alec watched as the wolves disappeared. He sighed then walked toward the cave where Elizabeth had disappeared down from earlier. Following the tunnel, he quickly realized that he didn't even know what was at the end of the tunnel. With this realization, Alec began to walk faster to find Elizabeth as he turned the corner the sight before Alec was one that surprised him. Its natural light lightened the cavern. There was a blue stone which was glowing.
As Alec stared at the cavern, he suddenly remembered what he came for. Looking around the cavern, he spotted Elizabeth sitting at the edge of an underground lake. "This place is beautiful, isn't it, Alec?" He heard Elizabeth say. Alec quietly approached her and said beside her. "Indeed, it a beautiful place. Nothing can compare to your natural beauty." Alec said, placing his arm around her shoulders. "Perfectly honest, I didn't know this place existed." He added. "I didn't either however something just felt right about this quiet place. There is a time when I would need to get lost so I would go out in the woods and stay out there for days on end. It was peaceful and quiet, and for a while, it felt at peace. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I miss the peace and quiet. I miss the life I once had, being a normal girl. Not having to worry about anything." Elizabeth said, looking down into the clear blue water. She then looked back up at Alec.
Alec saw the sad look in her eyes. He was about to pull her into a hug when she pulled away from him and stood up. "Stop all you ever do when I'm upset like this, all you ever do is hug me and tell me it's fine. I'm tired of hearing that. I don't want to be told it's fine, and I want to hear the truth. I want to know what's going on. I don't want to hide in the shadows of this world I want to walk in the light just like you do. I'm tired of the darkness, and just lying to me is making me wish we never met." She said as she kept her back towards him.
"My angel, you are in the light in the ever so dark world. Your smile is amazing, and every male here would agree with me when I say that you have brought so much joy and excitement into our lives. Not only that, but you brought hope into our lives as well. I can understand how difficult it would be for someone who was raised like you to adjust to this life. After all, for someone who walked in the sun can not immediately walk in the shadows and not be tempted to return to their old life." Alec said, looking at the reflections in the lake as well. As he stared into the lake, he heard a sigh next to him, and his head quickly snapped up to see Elizabeth looking at him. "Alec, in the darkness, there are two types. The ones who stay ignorant and choose not to acknowledge this world. Then there are those like yourself who face the ones who want to extinguish the light to make the darkness an unsafe place for everyone in the underworld. I don't want to hide in the darkness I want to be in the light with you. I want to stop being treated like a doll. I wish to be a person and not some decoration." Elizabeth said as she covered her face with her own hands. Suddenly she felt his hand on top of her hands.
Very gently, Alec pulled Elizabeth's hands back and looked her in the face. "No matter what angel, you are not a doll. You are your person, and if I made you feel like a doll, I apologize. I never meant for you to feel like this. All I wanted was to make sure you were protected, but it appears that instead of protecting you, I hurt you instead." Alec whispered. Alec whispered that Elizabeth couldn't help but look up into his eyes. As she looked into his eyes, she saw the tears forming in his eyes, and slowly she raised her hand. Elizabeth quietly began to wipe the tears away from his eyes. When she thought she got them all, she rested her hand against his cheek.
Alec then nuzzled her hand that laid against his face. He slowly opened his silver eyes, then slowly grasped her hand and removed it from his face. "I can understand that you perhaps don't want to see me for a while. Therefore I will go and prepare our home in Europe for you. Make it ready for both you and the baby. For now, don't leave the cave to allow Damien to take care of you until I return. Never forget how much I love both of you; however, for now, I need to prepare the home for us. With that, Alec turned his back to her and started to walk away from her.
Elizabeth stood in shock as Alec began to walk away from her. Sure she had pushed him away, but the second she got her way Elizabeth realized that is was so lonely without Alec doting over her every move. Quickly turning around, Elizabeth ran after Alec trying to catch up with him, immediately she entered the main cave seeing Alec talking with Damien. Without another word, Elizabeth launched herself at Alec. Catching him by surprise, she clung to his back. "Don't leave me, please don't leave me all alone." She chocked out as she tightly held onto Alec.
Alec was explaining his plan to Damien when someone grappled him from behind. Quickly realizing it was Elizabeth, he was about to pull her off of him when her voice reached his ears. The voice that she was using was one that sounded so painful, so scared. Carefully he turned to look her in the face, and he could see her face filled with not only tears but also fear. For the first time since he met her, she was showing the fear that she never wanted to be left alone. He was slowly bringing her into another close hug he just allowed her to sob into his chest.
