Alec was watching his mate with surprise; he had never seen a female like her before. She found a weak spot that he had not even noticed. AS he watched her, he felt himself loving her more and more. As he watched her talking with Damien, he saw sudden movement out of the corner of his eye. When he looked in that direction, he saw Matt launch himself at Elizabeth. "Elizabeth move," Alec screamed as he rushed forward. He did his best to reach them, but before he could reach the two, Matt hit her with the same force that they would hunt vampires with. Elizabeth started to fall forward, but Alec caught her before she hit the ground. He held her in his arms and quickly checked her off to find where she was injured.
Matt looked down at the female smugly. "That is what you get for throwing me to the ground woman." He growled. Suddenly two men were holding onto him. "Hey, what are you doing? Let me go." He said. "What the hell are you thinking, Matt? She was trying to help you. If she dies, you will be held responsible for her death." Damien said, looking down at Elizabeth worriedly. "I don't care if she dies or not; I want retribution for his crime," Alec growled his eyes glowing yellow. Matt couldn't help but shiver in fright. The only way a vampires eyes glowed yellow as if he felt threatened or his mate was being threatened. When they burned like that the only way to calm him down was to kill the one who threatened him.
Elizabeth felt a pain in her shoulder. When she opened her eyes, Alec was sitting above her, and his eyes were glowing yellow. As Elizabeth stared into those eyes, she remembered something from the past. She had seen those eyes before when she was little. A man had attacked her once before, but another prevented it. He had destroyed the first man who attacked then gently walked over to her. He kneeled to look her in the eyes. "I am sorry this happened to you dear little one. When you are older, I will come back to claim you. You will always be mine, and I will always be yours. Just remember one thing about me, and that would be my name. Remember Alec as the one who saved you this day." The man kissed her forehead gently and then whispered: "You won't remember any of this until the day that you find me again." He disappeared. Elizabeth looked up at Alec once again, and she gently put her hand on his chest. "Alec, please relax. I am not hurt that badly it is just a medium cut that will not kill me." She said.
Alec looked down at Elizabeth when she put her hand on his chest. When she said, "Alec, please relax. I am not hurt that badly it is just a medium cut that will not kill me." He started to relax slightly. He pulled her up gently and looked at her back. Sure enough, she was right, and the cut was nothing too major, and it would heal quickly. "Hold still; this may sting just a little." He said as he brought his mouth to the wound. He began to lick it, and he felt her shiver in pain as his tongue touched the wound. Soon it stopped bleeding and began to close up. This was something he was not expecting. Only a Vampire's wounds closed after they were treated by saliva from another vampire. He looked at the now healed shoulder then up at Damien. "It is healed." He said. Once again, every male in the room looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean it is healed? She is human; it takes a while for a wound like that to heal, you licking it might have cleaned it up but not heal it." Damien said. He moved around and looked at the shoulder in surprise. "It can't be, this wound should have taken a weak to heal how is this possible?" Damien said
Elizabeth listened to their conversation, then said, "I have always healed quickly. Everyone was surprised by how fast I would heal. I never found it strange." She looked up at both of them, and they both gasped in surprise. Elizabeth's eyes were glowing yellow, but as fast as they began to glow, they stopped. "Elizabeth, have you always healed quickly?" Alec asked. "Yes, it has been happening since I was little. I never questioned it. My parents never did as well, but then again, I never brought it to their attention." She said. "Elizabeth, is there anything that you can think of that involves vampires at all?" Alec asked. "Yeah, I have met one before. Alec, when I was three years old, someone saved me from a dark one. I had gotten separated from my mom, and that was when the dark one tried to attack me. A Vampire came in and attacked him and destroyed him. Before he left, he told me his name and kissed me on the forehead. Alec was you; you saved me all those years ago and told me that you would be back to claim me when I was older." Elizabeth told him
Alec looked at Elizabeth in surprise, and then he thought a little. "That little girl all those years ago was you?" He asked. "Yes, it was. I never told anyone what I saw, and because you wished it, I forgot about our meeting. I lived my life without any knowledge of this world. Deep down though I guess I had always hoped that you would come back for me. That is why every man I dated did not seem right to me. I was always comparing them to you subconsciously." Elizabeth said as she looked at Alec. "Just because I realized this, doesn't mean that I am going to be a sweet mate here. I am a fighter, and if you try to prevent me from at least sparing, then you have another thing coming buddy. I am no delicate flower in any way shape, or form." She said blushing and turning away from Alec. She pushed away from him and stood up.
"How could she be fine? I landed a good blow on her, yet she stands up without a scratch?" Matt growled glaring at Elizabeth. "She should be dying for what she did. No one disrespects me, especially not a woman who has been here all of an hour." He growled. Elizabeth looked at him and said, "What you do not understand is all I was trying to do is help you. Just showing you where you could improve so you would not be killed in battle. You try to kill me the second I take you to the ground. You don't deserve to protect anyone if once you get taken down by one girl, you try to kill them. You should be considering yourself lucky that I am not asking Alec to kill you right here right now, or kill you myself." Elizabeth said as she glared at Matt.
"That is enough, Matt, for what you did, you are no longer a member of the enforcers. Harming one's mate is something that no one should ever do. Elizabeth was trying to help you, and you tried to kill her. From now on, you will never remember anything about us, and if anyone sees you, you shall be considered a dark one." Damien said as he put his hand on Matt's head. Elizabeth watched as Matt's memories were erased, and before the last one was deleted, he then whispered, "I will never forgive you woman. It is your fault I fell into a dark one. Eventually, I will pay you back for this." He growled before he fainted.
Elizabeth watched as he fell to the ground. Another man picked him up and carried him out of the room. "Sorry about seeing all of that Elizabeth. You were right when you said he didn't deserve to protect anyone anymore. Matt was a good man up until a few weeks ago. He seemed to lose all hope. Everyone here still clings to the hope that just like Alec, we will find our mate." Damien said as he smiled at Elizabeth. "This life is not something so fickle that you can find the one that one special someone that easily. My mother always told me that when the right one appeared, I would know. Somehow when I saw Alec, something told me to go to him. However, I guess you can say my pride got in the way. Being alone for so long has caused me to only rely on myself." She said, looking down at her feet.
Damien looked surprised. "That statement, I had heard it once before when I was still a lower class member of the enforcers. I met a human pair of dark one hunter. The, of course, had a son, and unknown to the female she was caring for another child. When I happened across them, the female was injured pretty badly. It was obvious that if I didn't help, then she would die. The two males caught sight of me and the older one begged for help. To keep her alive, I had to give her my blood. I don't know what happened to her after I gave her blood, because I left. I knew she survived and gave birth, but that was the extent of my knowledge. What were your parents' names?" Damien asked. "My father was Michael, and my mother was Terry," Elizabeth answered. "It can't be, you're their daughter? You're the baby that I saved 22 years ago by giving blood to your mother?" Damien asked in surprise.
