Elizabeth saw her chance when Alec turned the other way; she had left her window open to allow the cooler air in. Elizabeth immediately started to run, only to be caught by another mysterious man. "Well, it looks like Alec was right; she would try to run." He muttered to no one in particular. "What are you doing? Let me go!" Elizabeth said as she struggled in the stranger's grip. "Now, now you can't leave Alec, can you?" He said to her as he tried to calm her down. His grip tightened a little, and she exclaimed in a loud voice, "Ow, you're hurting me."
Alec sighed. He figured that she might try and do something like this and for once was glad that his friend Mike came with him. When he walked outside the first words he heard were "Ow, you're hurting me." When he looked toward the yelling, he saw Mike holding onto Elizabeth's arm tightly. She cringed in both fear and pain, and before Alec could say anything, he just saw red. Alec launched himself at Mike and Elizabeth. When he reached the pair, he immediately separated them and punched Mike square in the face.
When Alec rushed over to Elizabeth and separated her from the mysterious man, she saw her chance once again. She was about to run when another hand grasped her arm gently. "Relax, we are not here to hurt you what so ever. Alec told us about you, and we are here to help him with his mate, which is you." The other man said to her. He then turned to Alec and Mike, "Hey, you two idiots stop fighting. Alec grab your mate. Mike walk away from Alec and go heal your wounds." He practically yelled at the two. Elizabeth looked at the three men in surprise as the two followed the man's instructions. "Thank you for preventing my mate from running away Damien. I can take care of her from here. We will gladly meet you back at the base once I am sure that she is ready to meet the rest of the enforcers." Alec said. "Bring her to us soon; you know she will be well defended at the base," Damien answered as he disappeared. Mike followed suit and left as well.
Alec looked at Elizabeth and sighed. "You are a handful, my delicate little mate." "I swear if you call me delicate, I am going to punch you." She said, "But you are my delicate little mate, and with my last breath, I will protect you." He said. "I don't need protecting, I don't need a male in my life, and I don't need anyone's help. I have been alone for years, and I don't intend to turn to anyone for help. You don't understand how I have lived for years, and yet you're expecting me to change on a dime. This is my own life, not yours." Elizabeth said, almost yelling at him. Alec looked at her in surprise as she shared her outburst. "I am your mate, and I will protect you. Nothing will ever hurt you as long as I am here." He whispered, pulling her closer to his own body.
When Alec pulled Elizabeth closer, she felt safe for the first time in 10 years. Her parents died when she was a teenager, and since then she has been on her own. Elizabeth learned to fight and take care of herself since no one wanted her. She heard him whisper in such a worried voice "I am sorry my angel I did not realize what you have been through. If I could have found you earlier, I would have eagerly protected you." When she looked up into his eyes, she could see the pain in his eyes as he whispers to her.
Elizabeth immediately pulled away from him and said, "If you have nothing more to say, then I am leaving. I have to get ready for work the next morning." She turned to leave when he grabbed her arm. "You can't go anywhere. You are mine, and I refuse to let you leave." He growled. "Let me go; I am a free woman, and no matter what you say or do I refuse to go with you." She retorted, trying to shake his hand off her arm.
Alec looked at her angrily and said, "You are not leaving me alone. I spent centuries looking for you, and now that I found you, I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe even if that means taking you away from everything that could hurt you." He then pulled her once again into his body, and as soon as she was close enough, Alec threw her over his shoulder. "What on earth are you doing?" She demanded. "Exactly what I promised; taking you away from everything that can hurt you." He answered as he began to walk away. "You can't do this, I have a life here, and I can't just disappear. My family will be worried about me. My friends will come looking for me, and what about my cat? Zeus needs me, and I can't leave him alone." She said starting to struggle against his grip. "You will leave everything behind because now you are living in the underworld. You won't be able to tell anyone about your life. Soon the fact that you are my mate will get out, and many of my enemies will be after you to get to me. Please start living in this world now than later." Alec said as he continued to walk.
Finally, after about an hour of walking, Alec placed Elizabeth on the ground. When Elizabeth looked around, she realized that they were quite literally underground. She looked around in amazement. "We have arrived at the base. Right now you are the only female, but now that one enforcer has found his mate then others should soon find their mates as well." Alec explained, placing an arm around her waist and gently nudging her forward. He opened the door in front of them, and Elizabeth's eyes widened in surprise. There was a massive cavern in front of them, and men were sparing with one another, others sitting talking with one another. When Alec shut the door behind them, the cavern went deathly silent. "Hey Alec, I thought you said you wouldn't let a woman in your bed until you found your mate." A man in front of them said smirking at Alec. "David, this is my mate. I protected her from a dark one without realizing who she was." Alec said proudly.
When Alec said that every single man in the cavern stared at Elizabeth with great curiosity, suddenly the room was abuzz with excitement, and Elizabeth caught a few statements said. "Now that the second in command has found his mate, everyone else should be able to as well." "Well, at least she is beautiful; I mean she isn't plane at all." When Alec heard that statement, he growled threating. How dare these younger men to say that about his mate? "If you are already, then let's get started on that training session that I promised when I got back." He growled singling out a small group of men where the statement came from. They all visibly gulped out of fear. "Excellent, that is how I want them." Alec thought as he smiled evilly. "Just don't try to run while I train these men." He whispered to Elizabeth as he led her towards a ring. When they got there, he sat her down in a seat and began to spar with the men.
As Alec was sparing, Elizabeth began to notice some of the men who were sparing with Alec were leaving themselves wide open to attacks that Alec didn't even see. When they finished, Elizabeth stood up and said: "Wait a minute." All the men turned to look at her, including Alec. "You guys are leaving yourselves open to an attack." She said. All the men started to laugh, including Alec. "I have watched their training and found no spots where they were open to an attack," Alec said. "Fine then you, spar with me." She said, pointing to a man whom she noticed many open areas. "ME?" He asked. "No, you will not step into the ring with any one of these trained killers," Alec said. "And yet you allowed me to watch them. Why can I not fight with them too? I can handle myself just fine." Elizabeth responded. Right as Alec was going to meet, Damien appeared. "If she says she can see flaws, then why not listen to her and see if you can see the flaws that she points out," Damien said. Alec reluctantly agreed and sat in a chair to watch the match.
Elizabeth and the young man were in separate corners, and Damien stood in the middle. He signaled the start of the match, and immediately the young man launched himself at Elizabeth. She just stood there. Alec was about to jump in and protect her out of his protectiveness of his mate when he was held back by someone. He turned and saw Damien grabbing his shoulder. "She wouldn't have gotten in the ring if she didn't know how to fight. Let the girl show us what she has." Damien said.
Elizabeth watched the man rush towards her, she had waited, and soon he revealed his weak spot once again. In a split second Elizabeth attacked, and it left the man on the ground cringing in pain. The room which had been a hive of activity suddenly quieted. Every male was staring at her in surprise. "Dude she took Matt down with one blow. Just who is this woman?" The men whispered. "Impressive Elizabeth, I'm amazed that you saw that weak spot. It is challenging to find weak spots among our fighters. And we thought that we had found a good trainer to train these weak spots out, but apparently, that didn't help any." Damien said with a smile. "Those weaknesses were one that I had problems with too. I learned how to help myself overcome those problems. If you want, I will be glad to help you out." She answered, looking around at the men.
Matt sat on the ground, angrily. "How in the hell could a woman do this to me?" he thought as he stared at the woman who was talking to Damien on the other side of the ring. He watched as she left a vulnerable side open and without even considering the consequences he launches himself at her.
