My voice came out steadier than I felt. "I've been an adult since last year. You don't have to take care of me. You don't even have to act like my guardian. You know what, I don't even like you anymore."
I pressed my heels in and the stallion went forward.
The wind hit my face and the trees on either side of the path blurred into a single green line and I let the horse run because there was nothing else I could do with what was inside me.
