Kael's POV I watched until her figure disappeared past the dark notice board near the path entrance. Gone. I stayed where I was for a moment longer before turning back toward the car. The street outside the school was nearly empty at this hour, quiet except for the distant sound of traffic and the wind moving through the trees. I got into the back seat, Fenris started the engine, and looked at me for a destination. “Just drive,” I almost couldn't recognize my own voice. I didn't have a destination.
