My Truth

4880 Words
Meredith Few Days Earlier I’ve been spending almost every God damn day in repeat. Like a time warp. Everyone expects me to be in agony, shame, or just selfish in so many ways. Yet no one but me understands why I did what I did. It wasn’t a selfish act you may call it. Maybe independent without feeling the need of the another’s worth or acceptance. Besides aunt Mable. Her, I trust with this. And she promised me on her brother’s grave that she would not say a world to anyone about this. Even though the only thing I feel is that I should never be forgiven. Not by my sister. My twin. My true soulmate. We are tie for life. But I had to let her go. Just like she had me. I had to repay her back. And I don’t regret a thing. I’ll redo it again if I had to. Elizabeth deserve such a better twin than I. So I gave her better. I got her to leave my side for good. Because she has always done better without me. Even though I wish in some part of the future. Not an forgive part. A respectful level. We can be a part of each others lives again. I wouldn’t want to spend the rest of my life without her. I can’t. When I get marry. I need her. When I have kids. I’ll need her. Any point in my life I would need her since she has return. Even when she was gone. When I thought she was died. I needed her. But things turn out different and in the mean time, we’ll live apart. I stare at my window that looks out to the entrance. I had a replay of the last memory of my sister. I watch as she gathers her people to head home. Watching an embrace hug she gives aunt Mable. They spoke and I hid behind my curtain when I sense her looking up at me. But I don’t turn away. I keep an eye. I watch as my sister doesn’t come to try to say goodbye or less. She turn the other cheek on me. And she should. I am not forgiven for what I have done. I said some awful, awful things to my sister. In my punishment act. I shall watch as she walks off Luminis for the very last time. And this time. It may be for good. I wish I can say I can get her back. But how knows. I swipe my hand over the screen to replay her walk. The car drives in reverse. The doors open. She steps out. Walks back to Mable and looks up towards me. Play. Play. Replay. My heart breaks more each time I watch. “I had to repay you back. After everything you had done for me. I now have to do this for you.” I tell myself. I am not at hate towards my twin as she may think. Not to those on her side. The truth of it all is my sister, for as long as I knew her and more. She’ve been the better sister in such a way. I’m grateful and more. She is everything that I am not. But I’m the oldest. It should be me. I should be the one to protect her. I should be her guardian. Her keeper. Her trainer. Her shoulder. Her best friend. Her all. But she was the stronger one. She never question her act during the hard times. She was better in all. Travis is lucky. Her pack and coven is lucky. But now it’s my turn to do it to her. To ensure I don’t bring her down. All I’ll do is bring her down. I won’t let that happen. So she had to go. I just knew she wouldn’t go without a reason. So I gave her one. “I’ll make you and father proud. Even if I’m in pain for doing it.” I release a sharp breath. Knock Knock “I’m busy!” I shouted. The door opens to my intruder. I quickly dissolved my delusion away. “Meredith dear? We need to talk.” I turn to see aunt Mable nice and dress. She wore a long coat. Hinting at me her request. “As I had said. I’m busy.” I walk to my chair to take a seat. Pretending I was busy. She follows to sit at the chair in front of me. Scowling me down. I can feel her glare hard. I sigh hard at her. As clear as day she scowl me. “Fine. What is it Mable?” “Aren’t you gonna ask how your sister’s Blessing went last night?” She ask me. I shake my head no. Giving her an unbothered look. “Seriously dear. Are you gonna keep this up? You’re allow to care.” “I lost the privilege to care Mable. All I can do now is continue what I promise. And support my sister. From a distance.” I keep my chin high. “Tsk, tsk, tsk.” Shaking her disappointment at me. She knew my reason. She had never said nothing of it. Not until I started to take acts upon it. She obviously did not like it. But I reminded her that she promise me she won’t tell anyone. So she kept her mouth shout. Yet, every little chance she gets, she’ll give me this look. Or she’ll try to talk me in to backing out. Yet now that I have done what I done. I kept our talks short. I knew what she would say. I know what she would ask of me. I’d not only acted an asshole towards my sister. But I had to prove myself to the others. Elizabeth’s Beta Mason put everything in order. He didn’t seem to like her here nor me. I made sure of it. I knew in the act of her mate Travis can’t be convince. I can convince her best friend who knew my twin sister longer and better than me. This hurts so much. But I push through. Needing to succeed my plan. And that little fight with dear brother-in-law made her question our relationship more. I wanted it to hold for a few more days. But things snap. I lost my sister quicker than I expected. I’m not normally this hard ass. I’m not a serious person towards the people I love. I was still that shy girl. I just come with a temper when I feel push to a corner. I guess being around my sister, it brought something out of me. I became to have a strong witch personality. Of course not stronger than her. People still see me as some perfect Sage daughter. I wanted to grow out of it. I wanted to be my own person. So when you take the sweet person in me for granted. You get to meet my harsh side. You can’t have both. “Well your sister’s Blessing went perfect. The coven is grown swell. This coexisting does seem to do wonders. It was a magical night to see such a thing. Witches and werewolves gather around. All because of her. You should of been there dear. You should of cheer her on. Watch her dance the ritual.” Inside I cheered. I jumped up and down. Cried even. “I am not welcome there.” Mable suck teeth. “I’m glad you had a good night. Now if you don..” I begin to stand until she stop me. “You need to fix this! Call her. Go to her. Do something Meredith. Family is family. We need each other. I’m aware it’s new..” “You know why I can’t! I’ll be fine. She’ll be fine! We all will be fine. Just like before.” I say clearly to her dismay. “I do understand.” Crossing her hands over each other. “Do you? Because it seems you have forgotten my reason for all of this.” I step to the side of my desk. Her eyes follow me. “We have all dealt so much. Together and alone. No matter how much I wanted her here. She is better without us. And we must learn to handle ourselves without them. Now is not the time.” “This is something your mother would say. Your father would of taken it. There were other ways about it. Boundaries. This is a new time. We must embrace it. Caden would..” “They’re both dead.” Her eyes lowered at my harsh words. I didn’t mean for it to come too harsh. “I’m doing it my way. We will learn. And we will survive. As we did before. And as we will after.” I demanded. “Meredith dear?” She step towards me. And I step back. “Aunt Mable.” Her eyes widen as her ears open to listen. “We. I need to prove to not just her and all. We are not in some advantage of theirs. We must show we are just as powerful as we have always been. I must rise on my own without her.” “But..” “No Mable. Elizabeth has done so much. She never hesitate. I can not relay on her always. I have prepare so much from her. Things are looking better. And I am doing this. We most be worthy. And right now. We are not. I am not worthy of an alliance nor a sister. So please. No more of this. When it is time. I will arrange a meeting with Elizabeth. And then and only then shall I fix it.” I claim. I suck up a sob. Holding the cracks of my voice to myself. “Will this go past the Wedding? Pass her Ceremony? How many months? Years?” I see her concern wonders. Has have I. “As long as it take.” I step close to her. Unaware of her options. I put up my shield. “If this is a continue bother for you. You can go else where. Don’t allow me to keep you.” She let out a small gasp. “I will not pick sides. Nor will I leave under your commands.” “It is not an order. Simple an option base on your return.” I look her up and down as she closed her coat up. I knew she was leaving. She has a tell. Her shoulders slump back. “You’re right. It does bother me. But I attend to my trips upon my own. I only come to help..” “You are not helping by trying to manipulate me.” “No one is manipulating you.” Liar. “Mable why don’t you just go. You’ll save me a hell of time. And maybe this time Danny will learn to move on. Keeping him around for your spare is heartless.” I spit out. In a heartless act I begin to get use too very often now. She says nothing but harden her face. A soft nod tells me I push. I only did so to get her to stop undermining me. “I hope everything works out for you in the end. I still see greatness in you. Just don’t f**k it up Meredith. You will only disappointment yourself. And even then, I would still be there for you. As would your sister.” I look away from her. I couldn’t bear her hate right now. As Mable turns on her heels to leave. I ask her one thing that’s been riddling in my head. “What name did she pick?” Mable stop her steps. Turning her head slightly at me. “Luna Clara.” And continue to walk off. Heading out to her trips. No one nor her knowns when she’ll ever be back. If she even comes back. Present Day Everyday I keep up to my punishment. And each time Mable’s words replays in my head. I know to her I was selfish. I know to my community they think I’m wrong. But it’s for the best. Their all see now. I take my walk around to meet with one of my top third degree. Checking on our Fabaceae. To look less suspicious to Xion’s wolves. I looked around to find this flower to be planted near by our farthest forest. They have a high fluoroacetate that will keep them away. It has the same effect as wolfsbane does. Its just not use worldwide. After a good amount of its toxin is contracted. It can kill. “Have they spread into the green space?” I asked. “No ma’am. All the food and small animals will still be able to frolic around in free will. If they grow more in we will crop them out.” He tells me. “Okay good. And have any wolves been seen near by?” “No. But we saw fainted tracks by the river. Its on the other side so we don’t look further. Luna Liv mus..” “We will take care of these unwanted furry creatures. We don’t need the help.” I shouted. I didn’t want everyone to relay on others. We must stay close. We need each other only. I had to reteach them that. We can not branch out the culture we grew from. “Of course ma’am. My apologies.” He nods his head at me. I stare him down and walked away. Making it back into the community. Danny walks up to me. No smile in sight as usual. “What is it Danny? Is it Xion? One of the near covens?” I hide my hands in my cloak. Fidgeting with my fingers. “The Marlow siblings are in town. And they heard of your sister. They plan to request a meeting upon you.” His tone tells me all my worries. The Marlows are snakes like witches. They seek power over anything. Too bad I have already dealt with many others for their own assumption. I will not let them think the same. “Fine. Make the call. I want them out by today. We don’t need them snubbing around now. Trouble follows them.” Danny nods as he heads back into the community to set things up. It was only moments later he returns to inform me they are 20 minutes near by. As always they gather up in a fancy hotel. I splash some water on my face. Touch up my makeup and headed their way. The whole drive there I rant in my head all the snicking to come. All ways they would piss me off. They all knew me as the shy, innocent Sage daughter. They use me once for my mother. It was the only time mother yelled at me. She slap me with no apology. She called me weak and naive. I learn a big lesson then. No one use me anymore. Pulling up to a nice six floor hotel. The driver take a space by an exit door. Away from the front desk. I get out from the back. And Danny follows from the passenger side. “Do you want me to come with? Because of Jerry.” Knowing the brother sibling is very passive aggressive towards females. I agree to have Danny company with with my meeting. He known as my protector since I am on a rise to one day be consider an high priestess. I would need an protector. I choice others at time. But no one is better than Danny. Plus I trust him. He is family. We walk in to head up the side elevators. Danny pushes the top floor. “Of course their buy out the president suit.” “They do like to show off. Just like their parents. Grandparents and those before them.” He snickered. I chuckle softly at the truth. “As if money and gloating proves anything.” A few floors later. The bell rings. “If anything goes wrong. Just let me know and i’ll..” I place a hand over Danny’s chest. Making him pause himself. “I get it. But I have my own weapon.” Pointing to my head. “This won’t take long. Their quick to the point.” As we agree the escape plan and little detail to expect from. The light shine as a last bell is heard. The doors open and we walk down the hall until we are met by dark beige door with the intel P.S. A thin blonde girl opens the door to us. Smiling bright as we walk on in. “Alexi? Jerry? Meredith has arrival alone with a cute men at her side!” She shouted through the suite with a kind sweet tone. “Nice to see you too Penny.” I say. “Likewise.” Her grin may be welcoming to any other person. But I know her for a few years now. Her grin is more of a devil fuse. Penny guides us to a dinning room. I stand and wait for the other two to await. Danny stand guard by the entrance behind me. In a loud argument. Both Alexi and Jerry make their usual entrance. These two bump heads all the damn time. “Will you two shut up so we can start! I have a nail appointment in an hour.” Penny shouted as she nods in soft hostess at us. “Our apologies. Do take a kinder seat doll.” Jerry winks at me but I do not faze from him. We all take a seat. As I seat across the middle from them all. Penny is the youngest so she dull as a nail. Alexi is the oldest and strong witch. She knows a way to get what she wants. And Jerry. Well he’s Jerry. No one pays much to him and his wants. He just like the offer of a night cap. Only desperate, slutty girls go for it. A loud popping sound is echo when Penny blow her bubble. Turning heads to her. Stupidly she ask what. Alexi uses her power to seal Penny’s mouth. “God. You and your obsession of gum. Be quite while we work.” Penny glare as she seat back like a child. “So Meredith. We hear the new on top of news. Congrats.” They all cheer. “To what?” I asked with a sight annoyance tone. “Oh baby you been growing finer than wine in Tuscan. But we talk of your ties with a pack that is lead by the new hybrid twin.” Jerry stares me down. Stopping at my breast. “Yes it is true. Elizabeth is alive. Is the first and only witch half vampire. She mated with an Alpha and they grew splendid.” I admit. “Great. Now we don’t work with those creature but we hear of news of you.” Alexi say. I tilt my head in wonders. “We want to offer you a place at our coven.” “Luminis is fill with little. You can do better doll.” “Besides that.” Alexi death stares at Jerry. “We know you will fit will. You have a well know family background. We can use someone like you.” She quickly unseal Penny’s mouth who flicks her sister off. “Why is this offer being brought up. I have already sworn in Luminis. I have commitments.” I explain short. “Oh she doesn’t know she be more use better with a more stronger coven.” Penny leans over the table. “Those witches won’t do you no good. Plus your sister would see what a real coven should be like.” She give me a evil eye with a grin. I don’t believe a single word they say. “We are the Gods Meredith. You want to be with us. You can even stay with me. By night you will scream from..” “I do not.” I stop him. “A spice doll. I like it. The news of your mother hit too. It worked. You should follow along if you of all people want to get anyway.” He say. “Its not like you’re your sister. You come close though. Ever. With your stupid gift of..” “Penny I assure you my gift is not stupid. Only though who see little.” I snap at her. She sat back as she snack her lips. “Clear to detail us.” Alexi ask. “Not really. Only true allies are worth the knowledge. And you three don’t hit my radar. It’s clear on what you want. Your family is known for such thing.” Jerry claps in excitement. Standing up. “Good! Let’s grab a round of shots and get the moving in started. You’re aware and we can party.” Alexi ran her finger down to pull Jerry back to his chair. He slumps back in annoyance. “So its obvious?” I nod. Even though I’ve been reading their minds. Only Alexi though. The others where nonsense. But I catch she wasn’t hiding it. Not all really. “You left yourself open Alexi.” I smirk. “So can you do it? Can you make it happen? We can’t be a part of it but no one will question her nor you.” She ask in a condescending way. “The question isn’t if they can’t. Its if they will.” I say. “Ugh this is boring. We should just handle it ourselves.” Penny whines. Alexi shh her up. “To make it clear we have a mess. It only grew. I don’t care how it’s done unless it leaves nothing behind. Either you or your sister needs to fix it. Round up your men. As a ploy while the wolves scatter in. Have Elizabeth do her thing and we will pay for her work.” I chuckle at her offer. It was so low. “What the hell is so funny to you b***h!” Jerry shouted. “You three.” I said in a flash. My tone deepen now. The aura thicken darker. Jerry got up quick to face me in inches. Danny close in but I push him back. I search Jerry who can decide whether to be turn on by me or not. “I’ll watch it if I were you.” “Hah you!” Penny laughed. “Sweet, innocent Meredith. You won’t kill a fly.” I don’t turn my head but keep it on Jerry himself. His breath heavily on my face. “Me kill. An illusion right?” “You may come by from both hand of your parents. But we all know you will crack to nothing over a life you take.” Alexi watches over us all. Examining. “I may not kill. As I am not driven to it for say. But we all know I have people on the other side who will do nothing but eat your screams.” I step close to Jerry. Who questions my action. I lay a finger on his chin as I get in his face. He’s now staring at my lips. “Do you want to meet my people? They’re not a kinder souls for you to play with.” “Marry me Meredith.” Jerry blurted out with lustful eyes. “Enough you weirdos!” Penny whines once again. Quickly I wrap my hand over his throat. Burning through his flesh as I held his arms down to his side so he can’t fight back. The burning flesh seeps in the air fast. Both his sisters rise. “Make your claim and we will pay!” Alexi shouted. Pleading even. “There is no pay or claim. I want you gone. All of you!” “Don’t be dumb like you are..” I intensify the flame from her insult. “Whatever you want. We need the mess clean. It will only make sense from your side of point..” “We can’t go home. We f****d up. We need you. The werewolves have to attack. Some kind of blood shred.” Penny cried. “Penny shut up!” Yell Alexi. “No just tell her!” They argue back and forth but until I throw Jerry across the room. He lays there in shortness of breaths. Placing his hands over this throat to cool it off. “We were kicked out. We can only return if..” Penny continues to shout her reason while Alexi shuts her up. Making Penny knock out. She falls to the ground. “So its a need rather a want you all want?” “Can you do it?” Alexi ask. Her eyes narrow at me. “We can.” I say smiley. “Great then we will..” “Wait!” I shouted. Making Alexi frown. “My people do not step on others destructions. They’re free will not slaves. Your demand to use my brother-in-law’s people is an insult and pathetic.” “Excuse you?” Her hand cling to the table. “I will not stand here as you play in more hate in my sister and her people. You will not make her out to be something she is not.” I say with a sharp tongue. “She is an bastard. Word will get out she done it anyways if we say so.” She threaten. “And I will claim the truth that the Marlow siblings killed their own family along side a small village of children. You will be the monster in the eyes of the Ancestors. Not Elizabeth.” I roar back. “Your sister is more convincing. No one will question.” She assumes. “Watch and find out.” Alexi rattles in her head in what to do. She looks down at Penny. Turning to Jerry who sits up right. “You are not trusting in your words. Do what you must.” “You are not our Priestess..” “Start a war and I’ll make sure you will face chains along your siblings. Put nor blame or go behind my back to my sister and you Alexi Marlow will be my first kill. And I will not stop until your brother and sister follows behind.” My eyes cling to her. Meaning my words. “You wouldn’t?” I see fear in her eyes. It makes me happy. “No one. And I mean no one will use me to get to my sister. Her people are not pets to be commanded to. You do not want to be on their bad side. And as you are in mine already. I see you three and your coven merely as enemies!” “You can’t order that.” She says in disclaim. “I just did! No advantages will be taken place tonight nor ever.” “Alexi don’t let that bitch..” I rise my hand in yellow magic, ready to strangle Jerry. He flinch and shuts his mouth. “If I hear you are still here by morning. You better make sure I don’t get to you. My people became powerful witches and we do not need any wolf to put those fears in place. They’re only there if you piss my sister off. So be happy it’s just me.” I release my magic to dissolve. Saying nothing I lay a smile out. “Good. An understanding is made. Goodbye.” Danny and I both walked out gracefully as today felt successful. Getting back to the car outside. Danny opens my door. “Mable will be proud. So would your sister.” I lay a hand on his shoulder. “My sister doesn’t get the credit. This is witches of Luminis business only.” I head in and breathe out. Knowing I may of started something big. But I can’t go back from here. I had to look forward. They’re just like everyone else trying to get to Elizabeth through me. Trying to be fake and all. I saw through it all the second I walked through the door. I make it known that we are not useless witches who need a hybrid pack. My sister can care for her own. Just like I need to prove that I can care for my own people by myself. I can’t be that other twin anymore. I need to be a better twin who can handle her own s**t. Especially in the time I parted from my twin. It may of come out to be hatred and pushy. But I protected her to grow her strength without me once more. She did so well the first time. Now is no difference. Just now. I have to learn to grown up. And I am utterly grateful for my sister for teaching me that over these past few months. I wish her well in the future.
