Travis
At times I hate being Alpha. It may just be the s**t Elizabeth and I had went through. But my title has seem to always find a way to pull me from her.
I crave her more each day. Every moment that has me apart from her just eats me alive.
“Hurry up so we can find her!!”
My eyes rolls as I finish up a quick email. I set things straight from the other day with the humans. Elizabeth made a well put argument and I follow behind in her glorious steps.
With that said we have been fine for most of the time. Still new, we get a spark of betrayal through each other. Making us jump back. I try ignoring it and just hold her tight. But then she tremble and I kiss her head tenderly. Her body eases less and wraps herself more into me. I wish I had the right words but at the time I feel I may say the wrong ones.
Turning to my side, I see a new photo I had of her. Taking a glance I looked to my computer. I clench my fist as I read over another threaten letter. It was from the same person. I just know it.
Just this time it was small but each word felt to cut deep.
You have made your decision Alpha. The hybrid will bury not only yourself. But your people. I thought you’ll be wiser than your father and leave what you know you shouldn’t have. Leave her.
She’s a waste of time. A devil in the making.
I will pray for you and your wolves. Good Luck.
When I enter my office today. I didn’t expect to deal with this. I didn’t want to. It was the last think on my mind.
Malcolm barks in my head. Needing to be with his mate. I still couldn’t rattle my emotions. So I push my desk and chair. Standing to my feet I slam my fist to the desk and head to my witch.
I headed off to the library to find her. She had texted me an hour ago that she took some time to read. Not study. But read.
“You know reading calms her down. It was like a drug to her.”
I nod to Malcolm. I have seen her in transition when her body shivers in a panic. Not fully relax, she sits with a book in her hand and in minutes she’s in peace.
“It use to be us.” He whines.
I shake my head to the empty feeing I get when I know we still need healing. And I try every day to gain our love back. Every second wasted I try to make up for it.
Heading in I am greeted. I nod and follow her scent. I hear a rumbling snarl from Malcolm when he smells a males scent mixing behind hers.
“He’s with her!”
I growl back. “He’s suppose to be somewhere else! Not with her!”
My footsteps grew louder and heavier the closer I get to them. And the moment my head pops up the floor. I quickly turn over the shelf to the lounging space.
I lost control of everything the second I see them squeeze tight in a corner couch in the far end. They didn’t sense me in the room. I knew this when I watch how he brings his arm closer to the back of her head. Touching her shoulder. She smiles a giggle that’s meant for us only. And he!
Ohh that f*****g bastard smirks his charm to her. Making her cover her face at some nonsense he speaks to her.
Seeing them like this had my blood boiling. I feel the burning sensation the moment I saw them. I wanted to strangle him with his own tail and throw him off the railing for even making her smile that way.
In my last few feet from them. Their heads pops up. Still in their bubble they smile to me as if this was innocent and I didn’t just catch them in the act of their betrayal of me.
“Hey babe.”
“Hey I ran into L..” I ignore every calling that told me to look her in the eyes. But instead I just look at her lover brother and grab him by the collar.
“What the hell Travis!” Closing her book to yelled.
I throw Mason over towards the bookshelves. His body makes a large huff sound. I take no chance and bite my tongue and allow my fist to talk.
“Yo why..”
Not wanting to hear any of his pathetic reasons I begin beating Mason. My fist connected to his face until his brow bleeds. My ring cuts a nice scar over his smirky grin. I lift him up to drag him in a column so I can throw him at the hard wall. I kick him in the stomach where I s***h a large cut in belly.
As I go to grab a chair. Elizabeth fights me. Yelling at me to stop. I bare my teeth at her as I push her off of me. She froze in her spot and stares at me in a soft gasp. My eyes blacken while I couldn’t speak right now. I was hungry for Mason’s near death. That’s all I knew now.
I stand before my brother and held the chair high. And as I do, Elizabeth speeds her way between us both. Holding her hand up to me.
“Move Elizabeth! Now!” I growl between Malcolm and I. But she doesn’t budge.
“No! What the hell has gotten in to you! It’s Mason!”
“Exactly! He was all over you. I knew there was something!” I barked back.
“What! No man gross!” He says as he coughs up blood.
“Don’t f*****g act like you didn’t. I saw you. The both of you.” My eyes shifted to them both. Their expressions don’t compose to my acid.
“Travis there’s nothing going on! Stop this ego s**t!” She calms her tone but still spoke a loud firm to me.
“You gonna tell me there isn’t..”
“There’s isn’t! And never has!” She yelled from her chest.
I search her eyes to read what she meant. But her touching him and his body so close behind her sent flashes of what s****l act they’d done. What secrets they hold.
“f**k!” I grunted to myself.
I go to put back the chair. In return, I see Elizabeth hovering over Mason from his side. He lifted up his shirt to review the wound.
Again my feral need grew as I go to yank her off of him. “Let go of me!”
“I don’t want you two alone anymore. He knew that!” I continue to drag her down the column.
Elizabeth claws at my arm but I don’t let go. Reaching the open air I turn to bend and throw her tiny body over my shoulder.
“No more library. The books will come to you!” My Alpha voice demanded it.
She continues to fight me. “Travis stop! Put me down. He’s your best friend for Goddess sake. Let me help him!”
I bite hard on my tongue but my Malcolm growls through our teeth.
“I know who he is. And so did he.” He doesn’t stop his growls. Pleading she stops being so f*****g stubborn and behave.
Making it near the stairs her body falls down my torso as she wiggles nonstop. Dropping down, she takes a deep chop of my shoulder. My body flex back and she pushes off of me. My arm loosen to her and I grind my teeth to the sharp pain. She takes one step away and I grab her arm to stop.
“Leave him Elizabeth.” My voice horsey now.
You hear a grunting sound behind us. She looks up to see Mason limping towards us. I fight through the pain my mate gave me and stood up.
Her eyes falls to him in concern. “He’s really hurt.”
“Ugh. He’ll be fine.” I pull myself together and take a small breather.
“Do you not trust me?” She ask me with her willow green eyes.
I look away and stop my gaze at Mason who holds his side. “I do. It’s him I don’t.”
“Wow thanks. Cradle buddy.” He frowns.
“You keep your hands off of her!” Mason hands flys up when I threaten him.
I hate how he has this sensitive spot from her.
“God damn it Travis STOP IT!” She stood right between us.
Every step I took closer she took back. I feel his eyes more on her than me. It enlarges my claws.
“No! You are mine. I just got you back. I am not losing you again. To no one. You think I didn’t smell those boys over you when you came back.”
Elizabeth crosses her arms. “And I told you nothing happen. I didn’t cheat. I was drugged and dance with Connie. That’s it.”
“Yet I couldn’t sense you for days.” Now my focus makes it to her.
“Because I chose to not to.” Her voice snaps and I feel this ache that washes from her. I try fighting it. I thought I knew but seeing them. Seeing him brought me back to that pit.
“Just stop touching him.” I beg in a raging tone to her.
“No! You leave and I’ll take care of him. Now go!” Waving her hand off to us.
Mason moans in pain and Elizabeth makes her way to him slowly. I watch and just stomps my way out. I saw that there was no talking when she f*****g picked his need over mine.
I don’t see why she had to help him. I’ve seen Mason 10 times worse. He’s just being a f*****g baby.
But now I see what he’d done to make her this way. His baby sweeter act had her running to him after all these years. Maybe that was always his trick. Before we met they were glue together. And they can’t be pulled apart.
Malcolm took a pull and I waited for her near the sundown. Like promise she always return to bed. Yet the view and air darken and when Elizabeth enter, she sat down with her hands crossing her chest.
I compose myself as I go to kiss her cheek. She yanks herself away once my lips make a connect.
“Are we gonna talk about what happen today?”
I sense she’s still mad but I bet she was all nurse to f*****g Mason. Waddle all his needs and kisses for his f*****g boo boos.
“He’s not a baby.” I grumble to myself.
Walking away to grab a change of clothes for her in the closet. But as I return. She left. All I see was the door closing and her figure vanishing.
My head falls down and I wonder if she was pulling away again. She knew me and knew him. There was boundaries and she choose him over me each f*****g time.
I tried not to let it bother me. I know the talks she assure me. And I believe her. It’s just after the treason. After our collide resume. It’s hard to see any wolf or another male take her attention but me.
So I lay and waited for her to return for slumber.
“She says she’ll always come back to bed whether she’s mad or not. She’ll come to our arms. No one else.”

Liv
I shake off any mood I have trap inside me. Today was gonna be a good day regardless if Malcolm and Travis found a way to tick under my skin.
Receiving the call of Connie’s arrival, I try not to run to her. But I guess I speed walked my way to her. And once I saw her, we hugged like little kids on a playdate.
“Yay! I can’t wait for you to see it all.” I cheered.
“I am at your disposal Luna.” She smiles and nudge my shoulder. “Now show me the witches.”
We trail our way through the grounds. Talked over little needs and role switches for her first day tomorrow. After some time I get a text that Connie’s coworker is almost here.
“Okay, so heads up. You will be working side by side with Milow whose been doing great since he joined.”
Connie smirk a cocky brow. “Oh that new guy you told me about?”
I nod and talked her through the things they will work on and things I left for her to handle. Connie was my main go to person. Milow was top two. He did an amazing job in his tribe before he came to us.
We quickly get interrupted as a male voice bubbles in. I turn to say hello to Milow. As I walk to his side and bring him closer for Connie to see. “And this is Connie. We spoke of her and the changes.”
“Hello..” As Milow grins at Connie. She bites her lips as she traps her eyes on him.
“Mate?” She finish for him.
He chuckles and takes her hand. I step back and watch them. They don’t speak much but I see they clicked right away.
“Well I guess I’ll have your stuff put in my..our home.” Milow’s voice carry a nervous tone.
“Well buy me dinner first.” She jokes.
“Why don’t I show you around. We can take a walk.” I see Connie blush hard to his accent. And in all my years Connie doesn’t blush.
“Well haven’t you won my heart by just your accent.” I can hear her heart dancing in her chest.
Milow is an 86 Australian former tribe witch. Immortality has done him good. His tribe has been wiped out 2 decades ago. He holds a fire element. And two months ago he calls me for a new home. His skill of high communication got him the job. He has been prefect. And when I left I saw he took a great lead.
“Well I was just about to head to the kids. It’s my turn for snacks.” He tilts his blonde hair to Connie. “Would you join me?” She nods to him.
“Well congrats.” I clapped. “I’ll allow you to take the day off Milow. Connie.” I gave her a look to be gentle and not too formal. She quickly nods. Aware of what I mean.
“Well doesn’t being mated to a close friend of Luna has its perks.” He chuckles.
I see Connie blush to his accent once again. “I got a few perks myself.”
I hold a laugh as I she Milow swallow hard. Connie has her way with boys. And now her mate will see. Along with her maintenance.
Milow’s hand willow up and a fire rose appeared in his hand. Connie’s eyes widen. The rose blend to hers. As she shows her gift connection.
Milow was branded to his tribe. So he still holds his element even with it no longer there.
I sore in happiness.
“I’m happy for you both. You got your hands fuller Milow. Good lucky. I mean it.”
“Thank you Luna.” He bows slightly to me.
“Yeah. Thanks Luna Liv.”
Milow takes Connie’s hand and they both head off to k****e their new fire-burning life.
Later That Day
I decided to host a small dinner welcoming to Milow and Connie. Everyone agreed and I pray no fights start.
Everyone comes in one by one. Sarah and Kan takes one side while Travis and I take the other. The tension is still thick. We try thinning it out but a flash of what happen at the library hits and I pull away.
Travis whisper in my ears. “The longer you’re upset the longer I’ll eat your p***y tonight.” He runs his hand up my legs and I clench to the heat. My head spin and he smirks away.
God damn bond s**t. Not now!
Coming in a slow chuckle is Mason. Everyone says hi but Travis who plays on his phone. I try to stand to have him sit next to me but Travis claws at my leg and I stayed seated.
Mason sits next to Sarah at the far end. I look over to him and his head falls down. I see him shaking his head slightly and I know it’s to me.
I hate how I put a strain between him and Travis.
Mason runs a conversation to Kan. After a few minutes, we all chat and the cutest couple makes their entrance.
“Well isn’t it time you two join us?” Kan says.
They don’t respond but Connie whispers something to Milow. He looked destress a bit and I wonder why. Connie pulls him by the arm and I go to stand but again Travis catch me. I gave him a look and he doesn’t flinch.
My eyes widen up to see Milow stepping towards Mason who turns around to congrats him.
“Aye, I heard th..”
In one sucker punch to the jaw Milow drops Mason on his ass. He falls over his chair and hits the ground hard. I lean over the table to see as much as I can.
“What the f**k man!” Mason rubs his jaw to the pain.
Travis laugh loudly to the assault. Again I gave him a look. And he only shrugs at me. Everyone else moves over and gasp to Milow hitting Mason.
When Mason looks up to see Milow and Connie. Connie had a guilty look. “Sorry. I told him about the, you know.”
Mason nods and looks to Milow. He sats back up slowly. And begin to rub his head that hits the ground. “This has really been a bad day for my head.”
“I would say.” Travis snicker.
I restrain from slamming my fist down. Instead I kick him under the table.
“What?” He snaps at me. I say nothing. “Milow has a hell of a arm. By looks, Beta is getting rusty. He should of saw it coming.”
I shook my head. Connie and I met a look. Empathy hits hard. Both our mates are not in good terms from our brother. And it’s because of our relationships itself.
The dinner goes on and the end falls. They begin to talk about doom fights. And I felt a ache in my belly.
I look up to see Mason trying hard to not make eye contact with both his sisters, nor their mates.
With the aura turning dark more than light. I grew to miss the love that should join.
I thank everyone and begin heading out. I have lost all interest to the gather. As I leave before everyone finish their meals. Travis is on my heels.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Catching my hand.
I turn and my eyes fall down. He lifts my chin and I tick to his touch. “Elizabeth? Baby don’t worry your pretty head over that dog..”
“I have emails to return before it’s late.” I interrupt him. I keep my cheek blow out in visible anger.
His hand slips and he nods. Understanding I was not in the mood to speak.
Heading to leave, he pulls me back again. I yank my arm and he yanks back. I fall to his chest and his stare was not kind.
“You didn’t have to start more havoc. Doesn’t help.” I nudge hard to his torso that flex back at me.
His grip tightens and I pull myself tall so I can look him in the eyes that displace my anger to him even more. I focus and I allow a flash of my heart being ripped out in agony for him to feel. A 2 second mind flip, he loosen and I calm my body.
“Guys f**k around. He’s being a baby.” He joked.
“And you’re being an asshole!” I poke his chest.
Travis’s expression falls dry. And mine stays strain to him. He moves my hand and nod. “I’m gonna enjoy dinner. How about you? Cake?”
My eyes flare red and he replies with a fine. I turn to leave. But not until he ask me one more question. “You coming to bed.” This wasn’t even a question. He said it more in and demanding tone.
I reacted like the good wife he thought he was getting. The shut your mouth like a statue. My exist itself responded for me.
No words. No sensation. No spark nor shiver. I try to not start another fight. And this goes on for the next two days. I kept silent and work. I engage little as I feel his chest rumble in any jealousy.
For today I work in my spell room. Just a small time to fill the dark with more dark.
Mason sits and fidgets in a chair. I spot him trying to avoid me. I catch him and force him to spend time together. Mason knows better than to just ignore me.
“Are you gonna tell me now what’s up you two?” I ask while I clean some mess.
“He didn’t tell you after ripping my lung out?” Mason says this in a bitter tone.
I dust off some powder and lean on the edge of my island. “He has been very closed up about why. So it’s time for you to tell me.”
Mason sighs. “It’s my fault Liv.”
“What is?” I asked.
“I lied to him about you that day. I was never planing to tell him. And he knew. He placed treason and it never been the same. He thought I wanted you for myself and other s**t. So it’s my fault okay.”
I shake my head in disbelief. “No it’s mine. I’m the reason it happen. You lying and him..” I pause. “It’s mine. I’m sorry I put a toll on you guys.”
Mason shrug it off like it’s all okay. “We fight just as much as you guys do. It’ll blow over.”
I let a faint smile out. I worry it won’t just blow over. What if they never see each other as brothers again.
For the remainder of the day I tried to ignore it. We go back to just enjoying our time.
I go to grab a jar from the top shelves. My short-self couldn’t reach, so I ask Mason for help.
“Just let me climb on top. I’m short.”
“Fine. But don’t fart.” He warns me.
I slap his shoulder and he went on to let me climb over him.
As I’m in near fingers to grab my fairy dust, a door slam open with bolts falling down. Both Mason and I’s eyes turn to see a piss off Alpha at the entrance.
Fuck!!
Mason helps me down before raising his hands in defense. Travis take no chance but takes a strike to Mason. I center myself between them. I can see fire blowing out his nose and ears.
“Really this again.” With my arm stretch out in protective mode.
“He was touching you!”
“He was helping!”
“Like hell!” I bring my arms down and Travis tries to get to Mason. I rise them up again and flare my hands in a glow of violet and blue. He sharpen his look and sees I’m ready to attack.
Growing so sick of this ego mucho Alpha s**t. I thought a major threat to Travis will get him to drop it all.
“Stop it or else I’ll make sure you can’t have a heir. Because I’ll make sure the heir will be half Mason’s.”
Mason gags to my threat. “Gross Liv. We’re not..”
I snap my head to him. Shaking in a pitiful disgust. “Gross no! There’s other ways.”
“Impossible! Even if you say this truth. An Alpha bastard will still hold reign. An Luna’s bastard is just a bastard.”
Travis makes a stand and a good point. But I make one better. I know how he feels about the pups. So I drop my arms and push his chest back an inch.
“I’m aware. Which states if things were different, Devin could of..”
“No!” He shouted at my reminder.
I take a deep breath out and face my beast Alpha. I hold his anger. “Either way you won’t have an heir from me. And from what we talked about. Mason will.”
Mason grips my elbow. “Don’t poke the bear Liv.”
“Stop touching her!” Travis grabs a glass object and throws it at Mason who dodges the hit.
“Enough I said!”
I step closer to my mate who intends to keep up his wall. Yet he has forgotten I can do better. I can hold his and mine for far longer. My chin lift to look him in the those dark eyes. Flickers of flaring brown caught my attention and I see his hurt.
He is still angry towards me.
“You haven’t come to bed. You promise no matter what you’ll come. And you didn’t.” I look over his shoulder to see the clock reads 11:48.
God damn it. I got too caught up, I didn’t know what time it was.
Stupid Elizabeth. You keep f*****g up you dumb b***h.
I sigh in utter guilt. “If things were reverse I’ll 100% get it. But through our past. All the girls and boys..”
“What boys?!” He snarls back. His eyes blacken and the brown hide away.
“I won. You won. You are the one waking up in our bed next to me. You go to bed holding me.” I keep my breathing low as I do my voice. He watches me and I see his ease. “I win. And you need to understand that. It’s you. Only and always you. Okay.” Caressing his face. His brown started to come back.
“You have the only attraction to me. The only pull I can’t resist. It’s only you. Others will try, we knew. But we pay no mind because you have ways to make my knees weak. I never knew of such things until you.” I feel him back as he lay his head to the side.
“It’s you okay. The only one in my mind and desire wants is you.” I look down to see his lips wet for my taste. I lean in to kiss his preying lips. Just a small peck and a huge wash blows between us.
“Fine. I’m sorry. I just don’t want to lose you.” He gasp in a heavy breath
“And you wont.” I promise to my grave.
He pulls me in by his elbow. Cradling my head to his heart. I could feel so much center in life than ever when I am held in my mates arms.
Of course things won’t stay calm between us. But we will stay center.
Any battle we face, we find ways to center it all out. And from here on out. I kept my promise to return to bed.
