Elders I (Part 2)

I kept reminding myself that no matter the outcome of today. Things will be okay. Even if I am left with nothing in return. I’ll still have my pack. I’ll still be able to see Mery and aunt Mable. The council can’t keep them from me. And if things go well. Ha, than my universe will finally start to feel real. I would be able to continue my plans as I wanted to. Things will be, it will be good. Right?

I stood right smack in the middle of the floor. My back on Mery and Travis. Holding my palms close to my body together. And I face my Elders as they throw mainly judgement at me. I think over everything. I was just scared to lose my family. The last little bit of family I had here. I was scared I could lose them. All of them. Yet on the outside surface, I keep my face firm in front of them. I will not let them see me agitated. I will be strong. Because I am strong. I need to be strong.

I need to.

“As we start today with something that catches all our eyes.” Say Sister Gal. “We have been inform of a treaty among Luminis and the Black Harvest. Putting aside all negative the world holds. With words of many things being said. And in that’s so. You took it among yourself to obtain a coven of your own version of Luminis back to an unbless field.”

“Not only that. Next to these sleeping witches heads of all ages. You have werewolves living and wounding around. And words has put that you have them training with your fellow Sisters. It’s ludicrous!” Adds another Elder.

“Sister Liv. How do you accommodate to these?” Sister Gal asked.

“Yes. I have..” Gal hold up her hand and my mouth close.

“Sister Meredith. You aside here as word for Luminis. You took it upon yourself. You were the one whom took charge to this change. We had read it through. Very closely. What is your reason?” Gal asked Mery.

All eyes turn to Mery. I kept my eyes forward. I heard the creep of a chair move. And Mery’s voice echos. “I have seen this pack with my own eyes. Without my relation. I trust this pack with my life. With all our lives. When their future Luna came to me with this treaty. We spoke with details to address everyones fitting. After some time. We came to an agreement. I signed with them knowing it is for the best. And a few members wanted protection. More protection. Luna Elizabeth offer not housing but a home there. Many took the chance. I have heard only good news since.” Mery says.

“So no one was force to live with these animals? Are they free will there Sister Meredith?” Brother Karl ask.

“Everything is the same as it is here. Placement and more opportunity among protection is higher.” Mery adds. She goes on to answer just a few more questions until they thank her. The chair creeps again as she takes her seat once more.

The Elders talk for a second and then their strong eyes took upon me. Glaring hard. I hold back from bitting my inner cheek.

“We have had a few items brought to us. We ask you Liv, the purpose for having your former people train with these werewolves?” Asked Gal.

“I’m sure you are aware the risk Sister Liv. This is not safe.” An Elder name Mick ask.

I turn my head and smile. “I have offer opportunity to my fellow sisters and brothers. For the youth and old. As my pack travel to come here to train as well. Back at Black Harvest. I train a certain class with my Gamma. Fellow Sisters who want to train and strengthen their challenges against an enemy. Working strategies. We help each other. Wolf and witches. We work in varies task for all. We are stronger. We fight and protect wiser.”

“Witches are not warriors! You have been among these mutts for far too long.” Brother Mick shouts. I hear Travis hold a small growl.

I chuckle at his remark. And before they rant on I held my voice high. “The mutts you address are far more stronger and loyal than you have been told centuries ago. I seen and heard stories. I trust them. And if I can ask for another being to protect my fellow witches. It would be the wolves. Not just any wolves. My pack, my people, and my family.”

“You are just as wise as your father has told us.” My eyes widen to Sister Paige. She is the youngest to be on the council.

“Sister Paige. You are just as naive. I’m sure you don’t believe this is okay.” Elder Mick say.

“But I do.” The room went silents for her. “You see I grew up near a pack. I understand Sister Liv’s reason of trust. We are all human in a way. We can be bad or good. Loyal or not. I have seen Sister Liv protect the coven. Even though she is no longer a part of. Without holding a heavy grudge.” She said with a full smile. “She arisen as a Luna. That’s loyalty. She made a hard choice in returning back. And for doing what she did. We all should admire her for it. Brother Caden had once say his sweet wise girl will make changes in this world one day. Bring forth something new. And I believe this is what he spoke of. Don’t you Sister, still have loyalty for your witches or is it for power?”

“Luminis is my birth home. I am working my steps to keep it. As a child we all made promises to protect it from all creatures. I still do. It is not wrong to have many homes. I will still continue to protect everyone in my life. Include you.” I say. Keeping my chin high as I look at them all.

“Is it not for advantages for your pack? With a coven your pack can go far. Smart even.” He said it with bile. “But when it comes down to saving a community. Your community. Who will you go to? Your family of werewolves or our family of witches?” Brother Mick asked me.

I know what he wanted me to say. I know what they all expected me to say. They all think differently. Yet their all wrong.

“I will go where I am needed. I will be delighted to have more blood on my hands for anyone. I will even give up my life. I pick no side because I do not see one.” I love both Luminis and Black Harvest. They can’t have me pick between them.

This wasn’t a crime.

“With your newly change. Are you in control of your thirst? I’m sure even for you a bite can still do damage. What is the volume intake?” Sister Gal ask.

“I am in control. I work very hard to make sure I am at no danger for others. My vampire side is just a small fraction that I take in count.”

“Some have spoken of your abilities? Do you still fight with your Ancestors? Members have been talking. The Ancestors have been talking.” Brother Karl says with a blank look on. He is trying to test me. I can feel it.

“As we all do. I continue my practices.”

They went on to ask me to show them what I am capable of doing. Witches can normally only control one task at a time. It almost impossible to control two elements at once. Anymore than that isn’t spoken of. And I had found out I can control all of them if I chose to. So that’s what I did. I started with one, something easy. Like raising a cup. Next with the cup high I allow the water to float and dance around. Soon vanishing into a gas. Just like I had practice. I work my way from one to two. Next I show a third and make it up to the last. A storm of all five elements sprang all around us. I take deep breaths as I focus. Each element form a figure of its own. Joining the next. They meet each other. And with its neighbor that beam. And vanish into nothing.

The faces of the Elders were outstanding. Amaze of what they saw. I never get tired of showing my powers. I learn to make a story with them. Hoping to show that I am not evil, no matter what others have to say. And the kids back home. They love to watch. Asking to see it again. The Elders were impress by my show.

“But do you still hold back from your Ancestors?” Sister Paige ask. I squeeze my hands. Worry my answer will not sit right with them. I try to avoid this question.

“I have Moon Goddess at my side longer than the Ancestors have. She kept me safe and has done everything I believe the Ancestor would of done but didn’t. At this time I now also look up to the Sun God who seat aside me when I need him. Moon Goddess has never once been ashamed of me. Not like the Ancestors.”

“You do not pray to them? Don’t you call to the other side?” Ask Mick.

“I learn to be stronger on my own. I found ways without the Ancestors.” They all barely say a word. They just nod with a cold expression.

Again they spoke to just themselves. I turn to glance at my mate. He smiles as he mutter words. “You are doing good.” My belly warms up.

“We are aware of what you can do from your new upraising. We are aware that packs have more wars and death than we do? Have you taken life other than that day?” Brother Karl ask.

“My pack went to war. As Luna I did what was needed. And I’ll do it again.” I say proudly.

“But you are not sworn in yet, is that correct?” Paige snickers.

“With me not being a wolf. I can only be sworn in at my ceremony.” As irritating as it is, I had to wait.

“So you were a civilian. You had no right. You chose to kill just to kill.” She says.

“No that’s..”

“We understand but in the eyes of the laws you should of not been there. Simple as that.” Brother Mick say. I try to explain but they just continue to cut me off. Going to the next question.

“How do you act with the words coming out about your new kind? You will make enemies everywhere you go? Will you choose to leave to protect those you love? Will you escape to help the other covens who calls to you? Can you handle the build up over time?” Ask Paige.

“In all other words of todays meet. Can you Liv still be trusted as a Sister. Even though you claim to be Luna for another kind. That has not always been a friend to us. Will you come through or will you easily turn your back as we all have for you once upon a time.” Says Gal.

“What are to be expected Sister? Will we expect more changes from you? Will others bond in as well? How can we be certain you won’t forget Luminis and go else where?” Say Karl.

“You can be done with this all if you decide to. You are as we seen, very powerful on your own. Why keep the Luminis when you have the Black Harvest? Why keep any of them? It is not every witch to stay within a coven they are born in. You can branch out. You can succeed on your own. Why any of this?” Adds Sister Gal.

My insides balls up together. As they throw questions after questions at me. My head swims with answers. But they continue to over stack. Clouding my head, it begins to wheel out of control. I shove everything down and took a breath in, breathe out. As they all stare at me. Waiting for my answers.

I chuckle a smirk. As everyone tilt their heads towards me. “Wow. Just wow.” I blinked.

“Is the stress too much?” Sister Paige ask. Her voice hides a concern.

“No, no. I handle worst. It’s just your questions. It’s amusing.” I try to wipe the grin from my face.

“Sister?” Gal ask gentle. But seem a bit annoyed.

“I’m sorry. It’s just everything. It all started here, ended here, and once again I am here again. Just defending myself.” I shifted my body. “I am very clear of the danger I bring. Yet I know where I lie unlike others. I can handle the detestation and burden. I have before. So, yes I have more blood on my hands in so little time. I have taken men and women. I did not do any of it without reason. There will be c*****e to be made for all my people. I will not show mercy to anyone who seeks harm to either of them. Nor to my alliances and friends whom has my back. I seek to stand my ground for once. I seek to protect my friends, and family. For anyone who doesn’t turn their backs on me. Regardless of what God or Goddess they look up to. Because I will not change any of it. I will do it all over again. I will support anyone who comes to me for help. I believe in giving everyone a chance. Yet, Brothers and Sisters.” I took a step forward and I see them all relaxing their muscles.

“You see I have learn a very, very long time ago that one chance is all it takes. Once that chance is gone. I will walk away. I stand for anyone and everyone. I will sacrifice my life for you all. Even when you sit there judging me. If you call on me for any reason. I will be on the first flight out. We all had learn that we create our own family. Blood or not. It doesn’t matter. We all are capable of standing alone. I have in years when I needed someone, anyone. But a team in any number is better, it is stronger, more wiser, and unbreakable. The woodsy path we all take is more calming. I only ask if you will stand by me?” I let one last reassuring smile. “Either way. I choose my own faith.”

“How can we truly trust what you say? Can we trust you?” Brother Mick asked with a cold tone.

“You can’t truly trust anyone. Especially when they have hurt you in the past. But I am willing to be there for my Sisters and Brothers. I will not turn my back.” I feel my mate’s bond. Sparkling me with confidences.

“Is your reason to as you say a redemption?” Ask Mick.

This guy is trying to make me look bad. He wants me to admit to something that’s not true.

“I have no purpose to do so. I have not done anything wrong. But if you want me to apologize for my actions. I will not.” I stand up, pushing my chair back. “I fought to gain the love and acceptation of my people. But I was thrown away and hurt over time. Despite my reason to hate and never coming here. I made the choice to turn a better cheek and do what’s right. Luminis deserves better. An I can do that. I will do that.”

I nod and turn to walk to my chair. Sitting tall with my hands cross over my chest. Serval minutes go by. Travis and Mery console with me. Allowing me to believe in myself. It felt good to speak with such firmness. I try to unlock my Luna to speak.

Sister Gal pounds the gavel. Giving all the attention to her. Everyone fixes their posture. Waiting for them to tell us their final decision.

“Ms. Marshall.” I nod to her. “With many, many outputs. This was very hard to come by. Not everyone has an open mind to the idea. With concerns some believes you will fall into your mother’s footsteps. Or worst. And we can not have that again.”

My stomach dropping to the deepest pit. Travis grabs my hand. While his thumb runs circles on my palm.

“After today, and everything you have to say. We grant a full blessing for the Black Harvest to have its own community of your fellows. In a new light of changes. We all believe it is best to stand with you with this change. As you put it we are family. Stronger together.” Sister Gal say.

“Now Sister Liv. We all do hope you walk into a brighter path. May your Moon Goddess watch over you and us all.” Brother Mick announces.

“An Elder will come by the Black Harvest in the next few days to bless the ground. You will expect a call from the say Elder. We wish you greatness Sister Liv.” Gal adds before dismissing us all.

I was so shock. Everything muffles. All I saw was four figures moving before me. Noises coming from both sides as my body is rocking. A hard kiss on my lip breaks my trance.

“Ah baby we were at awe to see you up there standing up for everyone. You spoke your truth. I’m so proud of you. You did it baby.” Travis said as he cups my face and kisses me again.

“I did it. I really did it.” My eyes sprang up and locked on him. He nods as he rubs my arms up and down.

“Oh my Goddess Livy! That was amazing. Father would of been proud of you. We all are.” She hugs me.

“Yeah. Father would.” I said softly.

“Are you okay?” Travis asked.

I turn to bring a smile on. “Yeah. I guess i’m just in shock really. I expected the worst. And they accepted everything of me. They have my back. And I, I didn’t expect that from them. I was prepare to do it all without them.”

“Livy when you stood up there. Your voice. It was different. We heard you and saw a strong leader. They knew they will regret it by not accepting you.” Mery said and I let her words seep in.

“You were a Luna up there. You showed them who the real Elizabeth was. You did an amazing job.” Giving my a kiss on the cheek as I place a hand on his.

“Thank you both for being here. I don’t think I would of believe in myself if I didn’t have either of you at my side.”

“We’ve been told you my little witch. We will never leave you.” His words made my heart grew with love.

“Come on. Let’s tell aunt Mable and everyone the great Elizabeth Luna has made her mark.” Mery jumps in excitement. And we all follow her out.

Now there is nothing that can ruined this day. I only have full hopes and love to grasp on to. And I can not wait for the future.
