Liv
It has been days. And finally, finally. The Bless Day is here. It’s the mid-evening and everyone gather all around. Children of all kinds are playing. Men and women talk among each others as they get along at such a blissful day. The youngest kids run around the flower batch. Gathering them up. Allowing the teens to make crowns for boys and girls. Some of them braid their hairs with the flowers. Creating a beautiful texture.
The whole land at which we assign for the witches has been groom all week. Those who had the magic to set the stage did their part. The exterior of most houses design for the wakening bliss. Lights and soon stars will shadow around us when the dark hits. The land blooms of an annual Bless Day. Cheers, laughter, food, music, fun and more is seen and heard. This was my first time attending these. As a kid. I look out the window wishing I walk with my people. To celebrate. And now, now I lead them.
The apple wood smell smokes in the air. The cook pork and sorts of meat is being made. Along with varies of premade meals from everyone. Witches and werewolves both coexist here today. And it will be finalize soon enough.
“Is the ground prep for the bloom?” Sister Gal ask.
I nod gracefully. “It is.”
Aside picking the right spot. Not only does the land have to be cleanse. But the soil needs to be fresh and pure for the tree. It will not thrive. And since there has been years of blood, war, and death here already. A deep soul cleansing was much needed. Now the grass is a nice bright lime green. Ready to be planted.
“In just a few..”
“Sisters Sisters. Hear me. This can’t be. It’s wrong, it’s blasphemy. The Ancestors won’t allo..” Cherry yells in far distances from us.
The three of us turn our heads. I scowl hard as annoy and furious I am. I couldn’t believe she would do this now. In front of the Sisters.
I wind my hand up. Stopping her. Her eyes widen. Body frozen in time. My hand clench a bit as I put pressure on her whole body. “This is a sacred day. Do not embarrass yourself or us.”
“We. Don’t. Co. Exist. Ancestors. Wrongful.” Gasping each word.
“You are ashamed. You have opinions. We discuss this before.” I hale a breath to clam myself from doing harm. “Go home Cherry. You don’t have to be part of this. Don’t cause another strike among me again. I warn you last time.”
“Liv.. shouldn’t ..”
“Go home!” I shouted. I let her go. Dropping her inches back. She held her body as tears well up in her eyes. Thank Goddess she listen and wobble back to her old shoe home.
I fix my composure to the Sisters. Apologizing on behalf of Cherry. “She has strong opinions. She choose to come for a fresh start. This is normal for her.”
“No apologies Sister.” Sister Paige says in a grin.
“We are very aware of Cherry’s case. She’s on thin ice. She should be please you helped her. But do not allow her to disrespect you among peer people.” Sister Gal explains.
“She will just continue this. Sister Cherry won’t go far. Not unless she makes some changes.” Both Sisters nod. Giving me their approval on Cherry’s wild behavior.
“Yes Sisters.”
“We will begin. And I believe the first welcoming will be you. You started this. You are a well respected member of our community. I believe the first bloom shall come from you Sister Liv.” She explains.
My mouth drops. I hadn’t even thought of being first. Maybe last. Honesty, I wasn’t sure if I could. Can I be a part of the coven and a Luna at once? This isn’t heard of. The first bloom is very special. The flower that grows will speak for the coven itself. It will also be the biggest flower to sit on the branch.
I was honor by her words.
“I’ll love to. Thank you Sister Gal.”
I turn to her guest. Sister Paige. They both came to see a new coven begin. Not only was this a coven. It will be the first on a land of werewolves. Who will share homes among each other. This can change a lot for us all. So I was happy to see both Sisters here. “Please walk around and make yourselves at home. We prep a feast for today. There’s even a wolf ride for those who are comfortable.”
Gal nods with a smile. While Sister Paige eyes widen in curiosity. “Are the wolves okay with such an order? They are not demanded here? They can not sworn?” She asked.
“It is family. Everyone has made their peace. Whom ever can and wanted to come in welcome.”
I explain to them the hard work we come as a growing community. This seem to relax both Sisters. I know the rumors still spread. And the flame of all of this still lits up. A lot of people believes this shouldn’t be happening. That I should be lock up or thrown aside. Everything I heard growing up now being spoken around the world. They say this will blow up in our face. But I want to believe it will triumph.
I look over as I see my mate, Beta and Gamma seated at a table. Welcoming each future member. Each one signs their name and in detail describes what job they attain to do along with their gift. This will help us determine what Degree they go in. I will most likely get these assign. Travis and the others offer to help. Wanting the knowledge as they’re rank higher than anyone. They will also personally meet any Degrees who can fight in the line and so forth. Travis wanted a more introduction to those.
These aren’t so new. As we have live among each other for a while now. For they had no job then. We did learn a lot for this purpose. Even those for aren’t sworn but still contributed will have a place.
I make eye contract with my mate. Who noticed my long stare at them. He mutters to Gamma before standing up. He walks all macho to me. Giving me flutters.
“Well hello there petty lady.” His eyes gave that look. The one that has me at my knees for him.
I try hard not to roll my eyes. “Hello to yourself. Cutie.”
“I saw you talk to Gal. Did she approve of everything?”
“Yes. She even gave me the first blessing.” I went on to explain the blessing to him.
Travis takes my hands. Kissing it. “Everyone should thank you. All of this was because of you. And may I say. Your dress, it’s lovey.” I worn a simple off the shoulder white medieval dress with a green and gold corset. I like this one the most because it gave a little renaissance vibe with it. The sleeve flares way out. Pulling the dress all together.
“Ha, thank you my Sweet Wolf.” I hold my hands together. Looking deep at my mate.
“I know you have been busy planning this and all. And you told me its an traditional feast that you have about 4 times a year.” I nod midway. “But if there’s a reason why most of your folks dress alike? Should I change to match you? I might have a shirt?”
I giggle as I forget my mates knowledge about witches are little. As was mine when I came to learn about his pack. A small image of Travis dress for a Blessing would of been great. But it would feel as a disrespect as well.
In such a tradition things are to be made. I warn our new people of the news. Days ago. I received the call how Sister Gal with come and bless us. Once the tree is planted. We pick a center plot that holds a heart warmth essence. She will be able to allow it grow fully. Once it has. Anyone who wants to sworn in will be able to today. So much will begin to happen from that moment on.
I grew excited at each waking day. And as now. I walk around. Watching my people. I get a full bloom of joy. I count each witch who dress the formal part of today. Anyone at the age of 18 will sworn and then follow with a ritual dance. We all dress in medieval outfits. Following as we allow our beams of magic to wonder the air. You will see a beautiful light create once it ‘s done. Finishing the Blessing. And then we can eat and party until the sun rise again.
I explain all of this to my mate. Who cheers for me. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and went on to his day. As did I. I continue my walk as I greet everyone. All of this feels so unreal. Even the sight of my fellow witch bestie Connie. Madam Grace was even able to come. And amazingly, Mable brought Danny as her date to share this moment.
Moments later a bell was rang. It echos through out the whole land. Bringing forth everyone whom gather around where Sister Gal was. She hands the bell to Sister Paige who steps back to give the solely attention to Sister Gal.
“Welcome all to a new birth and a new coming. For most of us this process is not new but it is a magical thing to be a part of. But for those who don’t I’ll explain quick. This home will be given a heart. This tree will hold the very connection. Each added member will strengthen more. It is our all. And when the last member dies. The tree will rot. And the coven will cease to exist as a pack with out a Luna nor Alpha. It is our heart that starts this new coming. Family. Growth is birth and so much more. Please welcome the coming of Luna Clara. It is my great honor to plant your heart but I do not take credit for its beating.” Sister Gal spoke loud and clear to the crowd.
I look around little by little. Seeing such a large group of witches and wolves stand side by side. All ages gather close. All of Black Harvest’s alliances came to welcome our new coming. Those who couldn’t make it, send their gratitude. Even though there are some who don’t approve of this, I know it was their Luna’s idea to send a welcoming gift. I didn’t care so much, most Alphas are known to have a stick up their ass. Even some young ones. So for older Alpha’s I brush it aside.
Sister Gal finish her speech as she lit up a small trail that lead to her. She held her hand out to Sister Paige who gave her something. Turning around to the plot. She kneel to her knees. Placing both her hands in the soil. And as the ground glow. She stands and offer me her hand. “Sister Liv? Will you be Luna Clara’s first blessing to bring forth the tree?”
I walk slowing to her. Taking it in. I kneel to where she once was. I take a deep breath in. And blow out. I lay my palm on the soil next to a spout. Pouring my magic into it. And again it glows a beautiful shade of colors. You see before your eyes as a beautiful Weeping Yoshino Cherry tree is grown. It towers at about 25 feet. Each petal is closed but one. One center hangs strong and bright as it nectars my power in it to bloom.
I get up to step aside to see the full trees beauty come to life. With no other words. Witch after witch lines up to place a hand on the tree. Letting their magic swim up and bloom a flower. Each one more brighter than the other. Soon it covers all over with its pink and white coats.
As the last witch seats his place. The party begins to awake. Having a blast as the sun begins to lower down. All the new members gather near the center. Where everyone else moves aside as they prep for the dance.
“What’s going on?” Travis asked.
“After everyone has sworn and the sun is near its set. It’s tradition that a ritual or dance is perform. It’s lovely to watch.” I tell him.
Just then I let go of his arm as I walk my way to my new family. Side to side as a soft music begins to play.
With all the Luna Clara’s witches gather in a circle. We spin around to create another in the middle. With soft steps a side we move among each other. Arms swing in the air to flock. As the beat change. You turn to your left to meet your Brother or Sister. Side to side you dance. A soft bow to another we move together then apart. A quick twirl as we repeat, next spin your partner as you switch. This goes on as each member dance with one another. Moving forth and back you twirl your arms as women gather in the middle. And the men circle around them. Facing them they kneel down as they show protection to their Sisters. While the women lock arms. We kick our legs as we swirl many directions. Taking light moves. Little figures dance around. Each witch creates themselves. And once the music speeds. We all take a nice open space to dance. Calling on the power you yourself posses the strongest. You light your palms. Ring your arms up at a beat. And in sync. We all lift our arms in the air as we look up at the darkest sky that holds nothing. As our magic spark the dark. A beautiful color of lights beams the sky. Gasp spread in the air as tiny stars are made. Ending the beautiful traditional dance.
A good 2 hours go by as everyone enjoy themselves. It’s wonderful to see so many of my love ones come to celebrate. Connie being Connie. She’s hell bend with the wolves but flirts her eyes at the witches. Mable and Danny actual enjoy themselves in public. Even though Mable as hint at me she’s leaving again. She wanted a nice goodbye with him. And Madam Grace being her cute self. I know she’s not out much, but I thank her for coming. She soon leaves to drive the few witches she brought that were at age and wanted to join. She said she tell them a story about me and hopes of better days. She has also been my biggest supporter in life. I’m grateful I still have her. And I can not over see how a joy of a fool Mason is tonight. It might just be the food, drinks, good music. Whatever it is. He is living life from my view.
It was like a carnival at one side. All sorts of shooting and throwing games, plus others. A field for dancing on another. And all around kids run and play. It was amazing to see the witches and wolves of all ages get along as if coexisting has always been a thing.
I turn to smile as I see a great number of kids run around the tree. They play a cute game as they chase each other. I see young couples lay with each other arms in its shade. And I wonder if maybe secretly if wolves and witches will mate from this. This can be a start of something.
Connie drags her feet towards Travis and I. Pouting hard. We hang by the side while we watch around a bit. We had walked all around. Meeting everyone. Eating and playing all the games. And may I say. Malcolm and Travis are sore losers.
“Ugh. Mason is such a buzz kill.” She whines. “He won’t dance with me. But I know another wolf who can dance. Can I dance with your wolf Liv?” Her eyes switch to me then Travis. Giving us her long lashes.
“By all means. Enjoy yourselves.” I wink playfully.
Connie squeals. Travis whispers something sweet before Connie can pull him away. “You are still may favorite witch to dance with. I’ll be back.”
I watch all around. Loving my life right now. There was nothing that can ruin this day. And tomorrow morning I will have a hell of a work day as I start to gather all our people to our new, new life.
“May I have this dance?” Perry says with a foolish grin.
I turn in shock. Jumping a little at his presence. I look at him with a confuse look. “Umm. I don’t kn..”
“Come on mon Pétard. This opportunity may never happen again. A wolf pack gaining a coven. Created by a hybrid. Please do me this greatest honor by showering the moon our silhouette’s frolic.” He says.
I look around before meeting his eyes. I know I should say to f**k off. But he’s right. Plus I’m not letting even Perry ruin my mood. So I nod to his gesture. Perry’s grin widen at my answer. Reach his arm out, I wrap mine around his. Walking us to the dance field, I couldn’t help as my eyes looks him up and down. He is dress very clean and relax. His shirt tuck in as his curls bounce. I can see he did a fresh shave. He bares little facial hair.
He span me quick. Catching me with a strong grip. I peel myself off. “Connard.” (Asshole.) He scowls at my insult.
“Sorry, sorry. I got too excited.” He chuckles. I roll my eyes.
Just then a sooth music of our kind plays. And what a surprise. Not really. Another traditional dance. Yet this one is for all parted. You start in distance, together. Apart with little closer, and ending together. It’s a formal of telling your partner that throughout it all. You will be one. You will do what it takes to be in each others touch.
“Ah parfait.” He grins.
The song started as I step forth and around. Moving my hips a little to the side. I face him but avoided his eyes. He eyes me all over. I feel it. We begin dancing with our arms up. As we move in distances. Perry grace my hand. I turn my head to find my mate who’s still with Connie. And an annoying slug takes his moment to grab my hand and bring me to his chest.
“Espace, espèce de connard!” (Space, you bastard!) I slap his chest. Only making him laugh. We begin to dance again. And when he gets too close. I lit my hands. Perry will test me.
“Le mariage a-t-il toujours lieu? ou devrais-je dire que c'est un pur signe pour nous..” (Does the marriage still take place? Should I say it's a sign for us..)
“Bien sûr que oui.” (Yes of course.)
We hear the trumpet. Signaling to move close. Perry twirls me twice. Still with a bit space. We dance. “We’re just.. Friends. C’est ça.” (That’s it.) I tell him.
Perry’s face goes long as he walks around me. Our backs touch as our hands near a touch. It’s suppose to be an tense moment. On cue we turn. Coming back he puts a smirk to his face. His hands tie back until they come to my lower back. I flash my red eyes and he moves it up a bit.
“I just want to say.” Clearing his throat. “Congrats. With Luna Clara not Travis.” Stupid slug. “I came in my parents honor.”
“Bien sûr.”(Of course.) I mock him.
Our hips sync to the rhythm. Pulling each other far and close. We glade on the field. “I miss you Pétard. I had to see you. I’m in town for a bit. Maybe we can go eat. Seul.”(Alone.)
“I know what you’re doing. No.” I let go of him. Only for him to spin me back in his arms. His grip was strong and gentle.
“Mon Pétard s'il te plaît. Je suis venu pour toi. Pour nous.” ( My firecracker please. I came for you. For us.) He says softly in my ear.
I pick up my head to just see a gimps of hope in his eyes. My mouth drop as his hand lit a spark. I shake it off as I peel my hands away. Our bodies still moving. We circle each other. Not looking away. Not once did Perry hide his smirk at my side glare. Again we move in back and forth. 4 steps in. My arms goes up. Not touching as his hands are suppose to move from my waist to my hands. But of course he couldn’t help himself. I snarl at him. Perry shrugs as if he didn’t meant to. Guiding back down. Our hands near a touch at our chest. We circle once more about 3 times slowly. Moving close in our own space.
“You need to stop texting and call me so much. The flirting is one thing.” Breaking the silence and growing tension he makes between us.
“You didn’t answer me. Plus I was just checking on you.” Again with that stupid look he gave me. His lips curl and his eyes did a thing.
“2 in the morning Perry!” I snap in a low voice. Taking his hand I spin out and back to him. Centering.
He hid his smirk. “Travis is quite an angry sleeper isn’t he?”
“Is that your goal? Provoking my husband?” I ask him.
“He is just your mate. You wear the ring and the mark. He claims to make you his Luna and lead together. But those vows hasn’t been said. You’re not tie yet. Don’t forget what I had told you mon Pétard. I don’t mind. I’ll still be here.” He close the space and I lay a hand over him. Feeling his strong beating heart that drums through me. “I’m never too far for you. Just say my name.”
I go to open my mouth when an annoy growl is heard at our side. We turn to see Mason towering Perry. He steps between us. “Yeah no. Your time is up. She pity your dance enough french boy.”
Perry didn’t react to Mason’s words. He just nods. He moves his head to the side to face me. “Je te verrai bientôt Elizabeth. Chérissez le moment.” He bows as he mutters the last sentence. (I will see you soon Elizabeth. Cherish the moment.)
I don’t say nothing as Mason turns to face me. The dance still going on. He glares me hard as if I needed to admit something. As if I was hiding something.
“Don’t Mason.” He snarls at me. I straighten my spine as I aline myself to him. I rose my right arm up. Hand down. “Just spin me. It’s not over yet.”
He cracks a smile as he aggressively spins me over, and over, and over again. Making me giggle uncontrollable. I finish the dance with him. I haven’t dance with Mason in so long. Not like this. It was nice.
As we end our dance. A all too good of a smell caught my attention. I turn to see my mate walking towards me. I headed his way. As the people silence around as we walk by. We lock eyes until we met. He bows down with his arms. Asking for a dance. And even though the music is up beat. We swirl in each others arms as if its soften. The world is quiet around us. He cups my face for a gentle kiss on both cheeks.
A over heat warm from his lips broken through me. Looking up he gives me an hazy look. “Why Perry of all people?”
“What do you mean?” My brows frown at his question.
“Perry and you?”
“So it was your idea to have Mason break up the dance?” Giving me a strain look.
“Yes and no. He was already on his way.” I hum to him. “Is it a redemption thing? Because he doesn..”
“No.” I shook my head at him. “I understand your reason for not liking him and his liking of me.” Travis mutter words under his breath. “But Perry understood a part of me I never thought someone could. Besides you.”
“Perry isn’t loyal. I don’t trust him. He wants something from you. He wants you.” Yeah that we already know.
I sigh heavy as I stop my feet. Wanting to walk off the field but he stopped me. His eyes flickers. Now Malcolm is giving me a questionable look. He whispers my name as he squeeze my hand into both of his.
“It may not of been his intention and he hasn’t come clean about it, or maybe it was my curiosity at the time. But when he allow me to see my parents. I sneak away into his mind. I found some stuff. I got it.” I shrug. “We empathy each other. He was honest. It’s all he ever been. I saw it in his eyes when we spoke. All that hard cocky s**t isn’t.. I don’t think its real. It’s just been so long that he gotten use to it. He hasn’t given me a reason to not. Despite his flirtatious act towards me. I know I can’t ask for any of you to give him a clean slot as I did. Because him and anyone else deserve one. So for now. Be nice. He is a guest after all.”
He lets out a breath. Bringing his natural dark brown eyes back to me. “You know it doesn’t take much for me to spread blood for you. Whomever does you wrong deserves that. Hell! You don’t even have to ask. I enjoy it.” He admits.
“Haven’t I told you boys how sexy you look with blood drench all over you. It really turns me on.” A soft moan rips through his chest. “Next time. f**k me before you clean it off.”
My breast gaze his as I nibble my bottom lips. Imagining the day he does. “f**k I love you Elizabeth.” Giving me a hungry kiss that fills us both.
After some time and hours has gone by. The night grew long. I rest my body against my mate’s torso. Wrapping his strong arms around me like a shield. He creeps his head into my neck, nibbling on me. I giggle as I tell him to stop. He tightens his grip as he breaks out into kiss now. I attend to bite him. Making him stop.
“So? What does it mean? The covens name you pick?” He asked me.
“Luna Clara. It means Bright Moon.” I answer.
Travis chuckles as he kiss my knuckles. “Because you are the light to my darkness.”
I smirk at him a bit blush coming out. “The Black Harvest isn’t dark. You are far from dark.
“You know what I mean baby.” He wraps his arms around me tighter. His warmth blends with mines. He rest his chin on my shoulder. We watch our newly members enjoy the celebration while the sky still beams its colors. “They’re a part of me and you. They’re us now. We’ll protect them. Always.”
He rocks me side to side. And I rub my hand around his. “This is good right? We’re not making a..”
“No baby. It’s perfect. All of it. Congrats baby. It’s a land of witches.” He says so willingly.
He tighten his grip on me. All my nerves went away. My personal home. In his arms. Nothing ever wrong, it was hard to even feel anything but good here.
“Congrats to us both.”
