Chapter 5

Ruby POV

" I'm sorry Sarah" I say as I sag my shoulders Abit before facing her, she looked confused and unsure of what I meant

" What for?" She asks as she folds my new clothes into a section of the wardrobe, Alpha Mark had changed my room to a different one with a regular wardrobe probably because he was told I hated the Walk in closet, I loved the effort he was putting into making me feel comfortable and sage,but why all this kindness, is something wrong here

" I almost put you in trouble last time we spoke, and I overreacted back then, I'm sorry" I said a year falling from one of my eyes

" No no no, I'm not having this conversation with you again, last time this happened you fell unconscious and nearly broke a rib" she pauses " okay maybe you did break a rib but, the thing is, Don't do that again" she says coming to wipe my face, she's such a good person why can't everyone just be like her

" Thank you" the words fall out of my mouth

" It's fine, just chill out and come try out these new dresses, Alpha Mark really wants to know if you like them" she says giving me an excited grin

" Ughm, okay " I say trying to force a smile back at her

" Do I really have to go out with the alpha again, this seems rather uncalled for, I'm just a guest" I say feeling a little dizzy as Sarah does my hair into nice pony tail

" I don't know why either,but I think he just wants to make you feel at home, by the way your hair is so long and pretty, how did it get so good" she asks while staring at her work in amazement

" You think so?, this old thing only slows me down, I think I should cut it" I say pulling at the tip

" What, don't, never speak such words ever Ruby" she yells

" Don't ever do what?" We hear from the door

" Alpha what a surprise, if I may ask what are you doing here, we were supposed to come meet you" Sarah says as she bows to him

He signals her to raise her head before glancing at me for a while " what did you want to do?" He asks

" Ughm nothing, Alpha" I lie, his glance turns into a glare

" You dare lie to your alpha?" He smirks, but not a smirk of mischief but a smirk of annoyance

" No Alpha Mark, I don't" I say wondering if the truth is on my face

" Then, what do I need to hear?" He says closing the distance between us till I can feel his breath on my forehead ' Damn he's tall' I tell my wolf as she melted inside me ,I could have sworn I heard him groan a bit and my breath hitched Abit

" Well go on" he says leaning in to my face, to him he's intimidating me but to me, damn he's reminding me I don't deserve him

" I....ugh.....we were talking about my hair, she said it was long and good-looking, but I said I wanted it cut,so she was shocked, Alpha" I say the last part hard enough to remind myself he's my alpha and not some other guy

He squints his eyebrows, but later relaxes and looks at me from head to toe stopping Abit at my hair and back to my face, he moves away from me and before I could breathe he lifts his hand as though trying to hit me, I close my eyes awaiting but then I feel a few strands of hair being tucked behind my ear, then something seems to stings my insides and I move from his hands abruptly, his hand still in the air now brought down to his pockets as he watches me in confusion or is it astonishment I can't tell

" Ughm Sorry Alpha, I was ughm just ugh.. can I ugh ..

I stutter not finding the words to say to him

" Be down in a few minutes, if you're still up for dinner that is" he says, moving to the door

Why do I feel hurt for doing that though, I was just shocked that's all, but was that pulse I felt

" Ughm..yes I'll be out in a minute" I say trying to ignore the bile rising in my throat and causing my stomach to churn Abit , he says nothing and walks out

"Woah that was intense" says Sarah who I never realized was still in the room, was she holding her breath " any chance you know why he did that?" I ask her

" Not a chance in hell, he's been rather quiet since...well something of the past" she corrects herself before spilling to much information

" What happened?" I asked looking a little worried well also feeling worried for him

" Ruby, there things I'm aloud to talk about, and things I'm not aloud to" she says as she fixed my hair and helps me into my shoes

" I can wear my shoes Sarah" I tell her honestly

" Not when you're injured" she says abruptly , I have no choice but to remain silent

" Are you okay?" Alpha Mark asks, as stares at the food in my plate and back at me

" Ughm ..yeah I'm fine, Alpha" I say trying to hide the fact that I'm lying from him

" You certainly don't look fine" he says " Excuse me?" I inquire getting pissed at how this is his business

" No I mean you're beautiful, just don't look alright you know mentally?" He asks

" What?" I get annoyed

" I'm not saying you're mad or anything I'm saying you're acting strange" he says and I try to calm down Abit

" I said I was fine, Alpha" I finally tell him for my peace of mind

" I'll believe you, for now" he says and just before I backfire he places his palm over my hand that lay still on the desk

" But if something is bothering you, feel free to let me know" he says and I glance at him, my emotions aren't clear while I stare, I'm confused, glad, and hate him at the same time, but why do I hate him though he hasn't done anything to me

" I'll try" I say faking a smile at him, and I think he noticed

" Sure, do you want to leave now or..

" Let's leave please" I say not able to handle the emotions I felt towards him become something else, I got up and prayed he would not stand as close as he did, the sparks were to much for me but my wolf loved it, can he feel it too or is it just me, I walk quickly trying to reach the car before him but the earth fails me and I stumble on a stray rock, " s**t" I say before preparing to face plant, just then someone wraps their arms around my waist and catches me before I drop, I didn't feel the sparks, so it was definitely not him, but a part of me knew who it was, the scent all too familiar for me

" Hey baby" he said holding me to his chest, usually by now butterflies would have exploded inside me but now I feel like puking so bad

" Get your hands of me you piece of s**t" I spat out, before looking back to see if Alpha Mark was close, but he wasn't, were could he have gone

" Is that how it is now bae?" He says closing the distance between us, I back away towards the woods trying to find something to hide behind, it's not long before I feel branches st my feet indicating I just got there, I lose stamina and fall back and my eyes close for Abit until I fall to the ground and slam against a tree " where did he-

He lands right on top of me and pins me to the ground, I try to scream but he covers my mouth

" Come on baby, don't be such a b***h now, just let me treat you right" he says

" Richard let go of me this instan-

I'm interrupted by the sound of my bones cracking inside me, I look at what he's doing and see how he tries to crush my ribs with one hand , the other stopping my screams

" Listen baby, I'm not here to do as you say, I'm here because of the rumors" he says

" What rumors you f*****g rat?" I ask trying to shift to a wolf but his weight and my wounds over power me

" You're with my Step brother, true or false?" He asks , rage in his eyes

" What who, what do you mean i-

Ahh! I scream as he claws into my sides

" You're with Mark, your f*****g my step brother aren't you, after all I've done for you" he says and I can't help but Chuckle through the pain

" Does that bother you, I mean you have your mate" I say sarcastically, if only he knew it's not what he thinks, but to hell with what this f****d up d**k thinks

" You've always been a b***h Ruby, reasons why I chose your sister" he said, did he have to remind me

" Yes I know you're with my sister, but accusing me of sleeping around when I stayed home and took care of our home while you jumped in every girls pants, that's madness" I scoff and get myself a nice punch to the gut from him

Ahh! I scream, and he smiles

" You think your smart don't you, but I know how to make you weak, only me baby just me" he whispered by my ear

" Richard stop, your hurting me" I cry out

" That's my baby, I missed you Ruby" he whispered, stabbing deeper into me

" Listen, I know you sent someone to beat me up after what happened, so I'll make sure I do exactly what I suffered to yo-

A foot collides with his face and he flys out and into a tree, what on earth, I look at the direction

" Alpha!!" I yell as I lay helplessly trying to move so bad, but I'm to weak and injured, beta Zaine hurries to my side and helps me up " Are you alright?" He asks

" For now yes" I tell him, I hear a punch and look at the Alpha as he rains down blows on my ex " is it bad to say he looks rather sexy like that" I ask Rita and she howls in approval

" Alpha, I think that's enough" Zaine yells, I glance at him in shock but I have to admit he's right, Mark hesitates for a while, but ends it with a last punch to the nose and gets up from him, before rushing towards me

" Did he you know?..

" No he was more focused on hurting me than doing that" I say hiding my wounds from him

" Zaine, go get his body, I'll take her back to the car" he said and Zaine follows his command leaving me with who I wasn't sure I wanted to be around right now, or so I thought, he wrapped his arms around my waist and asks

" Should I carry you or we walk?" He smiles alittle

" Ughm I think I can manage" but the second I move, I fall and he catches me and sweeps me of my feet

" So that's a yes" he chuckles, surprisingly as though I'm feeding of his touch I feel like I'm healing quicker than what my wolf was doing, I hide my face in his chest and relax for the first time " Rita!!" I growl unconsciously
