Sierra intentionally sat down on the edge of her bed. It's been ten minutes already and she still hasn't packed yet. She knew that she had given him right over her but that doesn't mean that he could show up in her house and force her to leave with him. She was still worried about Nora and she's yet to hear back from the doctor concerning her sister's case so how could she just leave? Why couldn't he just understand that?
And what's the part about her being naked and not needing clothes? Was he trying to say that she would be seen by everyone in his mansion without clothes? Was that part of what moving in with him entailed?
What then happens after that? Was he taking her to his place because he had other plans for her? Would she be used by his surbodinates as well? Are they going to sleep with her too? Was that the reason why he said that? The more she gave his statement more thought, the more it terrified her and filled her with dread. He was going to kill her. Reya was right.
Why else would he be so hell bent on having her over to his mansion? For goodness sake, she didn't even know what he does neither does she know who he was. She had only slept with him. Right now, this would be a very good time to make an ad to caution people from drinking to stupor because this is exactly what happens when one's life is mistakenly embedded in alcohol.
Left with no other choice, she picked up her phone on the bed where she had thrown it and quickly dialled Reya's number. She picked up at the second ring.
"Sierra you—" Reya started but was suddenly interrupted.
"Don't say anything and just listen to me okay?" She whispered solidly into the phone that was plastered tightly to her ears as she paced around her room.
Her eyes fixated on the closed door in hopes that no one walks in or eavesdrops on their conversation. She must have been stupid to think that she would actually survive if she moves in with this man but judging from all angles, she didn't think so anymore.
"I need your help." It wasn't just a statement. It was a request and a silent plea.
"He's there isn't he?"
"There's no time for that now but i promise to explain everything to you once I'm settled but for now, I'm going to try to escape." She informed her as she weighed in on her options. "In the next ten to fifteen minutes, i want you to take a cab and park at a location that i will text you. Wait for me there until i arrive and don't call back after i disconnect this phone call, okay?"
"Alright." Reya answered and she immediately disconnected the call. She deleted her call logs and turned off her phone before throwing it back on the bed.
"Are you ready in there, miss? You have a few minutes left." A voice came from behind the door. She recognized it to be the voice of Sergio. He's the only one who has been communicating with her for a while so it's not a surprise that she could tell his voice apart.
"I-I'm almost done." She stuttered a reply. "I'm trying to get changed. Give me just a few minutes more and I'll be out soon."
He didn't respond which was a clear indication that he had gotten her message. As soon as she hears his receding footsteps, she slid her feets into a pair of comfortable shorts then picked up a small bag that had a few of her clothes and walked to the nearest window to make a jump. Throwing the bag down first, she climbed out and jumped out of the window, graduating making her mistake.
It took her a ten solid minutes to manoeuver his men so that she's not spotted before she finally gets to the place where she had texted Reya to meet her and as usual, Reya was already there waiting patiently for her to arrive.
As soon as she did, they both got into the cab and zoomed off. Settling in, she threw her head back and let's out an exasperated sigh. She couldn't believe that she had made it out of there in one piece without getting caught. Her heart was beating very fact in every nanosecond. Her life was truly a mess.
Reya didn't ask any questions and for once, she was grateful that she didn't because she was too exhausted to speak or answer them.
"Where are we going?" Sierra asked when she noticed that Reya had asked the driver to take another route.
"Dean's mother vacation house. It's a little out of town and it's the best place to lay low for a while." She answered and Sierra gave a small nod.
"Will Dean be there as well?"
"Mmmm." She mummered a reply. "He's a little bit aware of your situation and he was the one who suggested that i bring you there to keep you safe." She informed me and i almost squirmed in my seat.
"You told him? Why would you do that?" She attacked fiercely. She had been trying to hide it from him and now, Reya had blabbed everything to him. What would he think of her when he finds out that she had a one night stand with a stranger?
"Because you're in trouble Sierra and i can't handle it alone." She sharply replied. "You're on the run for goodness sake because you're been chased by a strange man who's literally obsessed with you so what could i have done? Besides, you are Dean are best friends so what's the deal if he knows and tries to help? Are you hiding something else?"
She shook her head vigorously. "No. No, I'm not."
"Then please let us help you." She insisted. "We don't know who we're dealing with or who this man is so until we figure something out, you've got to let us help you okay? You can't do this alone so don't even try to."
She didn't respond but she was sure that Reya had interpreted her silence as okay. They arrived at Dean's place in exactly an hour and half due to a little late night traffic. It was a mini lodge secluded from the busy city. Exactly what she needed.
Dean came out to welcome them as soon as they arrived. Sierra guessed that Reya must've told him before they did.
"Hi." He said and kissed her on the cheeks. Sierra casted her eyes down not wanting to feel jealous or anything.
"Hey." He called out to her before grabbing her bag. "Welcome."
"I'm sorry for putting you guys through all of this." She apologized, not knowing why she did though. Maybe because she didn't want to feel guilty.
"You're our friend and we'd always try our best to help out no matter what." He wrapped his hands around her shoulders and pulled her in for a brief hug. "I made dinner so freshen up and join us when you're done, okay?"
She nodded once at his request. Reya showed her to her room and when she was done, she joined them on the table.
"So who's this man? And what does he want from you?" Dean asked halfway through her meal. She glanced at Reya who was also waiting for her to speak.
"I don't know him." She answered. "I met him at the bar and i was drunk so the truth is that i might've encouraged him to have s*x with me but now, he doesn't want to leave me alone. He's requesting that i move in with him and i don't know what to do."
"He told me that he has made his claim on me and that I'll end up with him no matter what." She swallowed. "He promised to have me no matter what and i think i might've escalated things when i begged him to help me out with Nora's surgery."
"I promised to do as as he had asked but i don't think I can anymore. Everything is just so sudden and I'm scared because i don't know what plans he has in store for me. What if he's plotting to kill me?"
Reya held her hands in comfort.
"The thing is that the place i work is always visited by influential men so my guess is that it could be one of them but I'll have to make my own inquiries and find out who it is and maybe we can reason something out but until then, I don't think it's safe for you to go anywhere." He advised her.
"So you'll stay here with us until everything dies down, okay?"
"Thank you, both of you." She whispered gratefully. Although she was happy that she was finally able to escape, something kept on telling her that it won't be long until he finds her again and just the thought of it, scared her to the bone.
