A continuing battle

Kirsty was holding her breath as she focused on the sight outside. The tension was increasing as the rogues started to provoke the men of the pack. She was looking at the very same person who stood tall and exuded strength in front of the enemies. Kirsty has no idea why rogues are like these, compared to her who just wants peace in her life. She may not know the reasons why but deep inside her, she knew that all of them have the right mind not to choose violence. She even saw that the men from the pack didn’t attack immediately when the rogues presented themselves, and just said that they should leave the place. This left her in awe knowing that the men also didn’t want to choose violence to settle things even if they have immense hatred toward the rogues, something that she lacks knowledge about. She didn’t even know why she became a rogue, and how much more hatred was thrown at her. Her carriage was the nearest to the men and the other slaves were silent, partly because they were also afraid of the increasing tension that was outside, and it also mean that they were in danger. She felt a sudden excruciating pain in her head which made her close her eyes and later, she loses balance. Because her hands and feet were tied, she couldn’t be able to support herself. “No…” She whispered as she fell down to the floor of the carriage. She could hear a loud thud on her own carriage, and she knew that she was heard by the men outside. And the group of rouges, knowing their ability to hear. “You brought us food to eat, that is so kind of the people of the pack to give us food.” The man's laughter echoed through the air, a mocking tone laced within his words. Kirsty's heart pounded in her chest as she cowered in the confined space of the carriage. She realized with a sinking feeling that her clumsy actions had inadvertently drawn the attention of the enemies outside, putting not only herself but also the safety of the pack at risk. “Rogues have no right to receive gifts from the pack.” However, amidst the tense atmosphere, a voice unknown to Kirsty cut through the air, countering the rogue's statement. The unfamiliar voice carried authority and a hint of disdain, challenging the notion that rogues had any right to accept gifts or assistance from the pack. The source of this voice remained hidden from Kirsty's view, yet it offered a glimmer of hope. At that moment, a spark of realization ignited within Kirsty. She realized that the unfamiliar voice, the one who spoke against the rogue's audacious claim, might be an ally. It suggested the presence of individuals who were willing to challenge the established norms and protect the integrity of the pack. “Then we are forced to do this!” A sudden hush fell upon the surroundings as a resonant growl shattered the tense atmosphere. Kirsty's senses heightened, and her heart skipped a beat as she recognized the distinct sound of a wolf shifting into their formidable werewolf state. She smelled chaos, danger, and battle outside. She couldn’t just let herself be lumped on the floor and curled her body out of fear because she wanted to know what was going on outside. Even if she was weak, and her body was in pain, she made sure to lean her body on the wall of the carriage and sit as her heart was pounding so loudly. It was never in her plans to heal herself but this situation that she was in forced her to do so for her to protect herself and the people who were with her. She had no plans of fighting for the pack but for herself only. She closed her eyes and focused her mind on her inner wolf that was sleeping. She tried to communicate with her so that their mind would be in synchronicity to heal her now that the pain in her thigh started to extend up to her abdomen. In the meantime, she tried to forget the battle that was happening outside, and she was glad that the carriage was close. Kirsty closed her eyes as she continued communicating with her inner wolf. She was in the farthest back of her mind and the moment she focused her mind on waking her up, a loud growl was heard outside her carriage. A growl that signified that the owner of it was in great pain. In the meantime, she loses focus on what she was doing as the carriage was shaken. This means that the fight was just so near to her that the moment it would get in contact with the carriage once more, it would break it, revealing the weak state that she didn’t want to happen. Kirsty once more get back to her focus as her inner wolf was already awake and knew already what she was planning to do. Even if this was out of their plans, it is needed for their safety. The moment their mind was in synchronicity, Kirsty opened her eyes, which were glowing, and she was no longer distracted by the battle that was happening outside. She and her inner wolf focused on the pain and the wounds that were calling for her ability to heal. In seconds, she felt a huge amount of strength in her. And she smiled, knowing that she can now protect herself and the other slaves from danger. Even if she had the ability to untie herself, she chose not to, to not pose danger and provoke the men of the pack that she was against them, which she is not. She didn’t know but she felt that she was at least safe in the hands of the men of the pack instead of being with men of the same kind as her.
