Unnoticed

“I wonder where we bought this meat. It is so tender. I would want to buy some for my household.” Alejandro chimed in the conversation. He was so silent during his few minutes of staying inside as if he was observing for something and is calculating his actions that won’t compromise his secret. “I would also want to know, so that I could buy a few stocks, knowing that there is a shortage of supply in the market…hmm.” Sam personally didn’t know where the supply came from, but one thing is for sure to him, it was Draken’s action that they have this supply for the pack. A few pairs of eyes went to look in Sam’s direction because these people wondered if he ever knew where the pack got the supply of the meat. “I don’t know.” Sam declared. He avoided the questioning gaze of the few people inside and he, instead divulge on the food as his mind was flying back to Chloe again. He didn’t know what was happening now in their household and all he ever wanted was the safety of his mate. Chloe’s abilities were not enough to fight the strength of a rogue. For the first time in his life, he wanted Draken to be there as soon as possible, he started to get annoyed by the idea that he didn’t know what the status of the safeness of Chloe in their household is as she brought the rogue with her and he cannot do anything about it since Draken was not there to lead everybody. As the Alpha’s right hand, it is one of his duties to be present on behalf of the Alpha. “Alright, it is still morning. Let’s just enjoy the delicacies presented to us!” Alejandro’s face lightened upon knowing that the beta of the pack also didn’t know where the supply came from. To him, this means that it has a small competitor as the man planned on purchasing a lot to be the supplier of the other households inside the pack for his own advantage. Everybody was so focused on their piece of tenderloin that they didn’t notice that it was raining hard outside even if the sun was in its mightiest form. This unusual happening is so seldom to happen in the pack, and it signifies that the moon goddess is giving them blessings and the good news is coming their way. The dark gray curtain was pulled down, hiding the glass window wall, and it made the people inside unable to see what the weather was like outside. The rain continued to pour really hard on the grassland as some people outside were on their way to find shelter from getting soaked in the rain. Everybody was busy with the food being served that they didn’t notice that Draken already went inside the room using the back door, not in his usual clothing which was the same reason why he was unnoticeable back then. The soldiers who were standing by the back door were the first ones who noticed the presence of the Alpha as Draken took off his hunter’s jacket, soaked in rain. “A-Alpha…” The soldier on the left whispered and he bowed his head as a sign of respect to the highest-ranked individual and leader of the pack. Draken just nodded his head as the men whom he called had no one who noticed his presence as they were so engulfed by the food being served. The smell of grilled beef surrounded the room and the Alpha already plotted for this one. The light was dimmed as they lighted a few scented candles to complement the food served, and Draken slowly navigated his way to his chair. When he passed by back of Sam, he tapped the man’s back causing the said person to almost choke on his mushroom soup. “Draken…” Sam whispered. And Draken nodded his head as he continued to sit by his chair. Draken crossed his arms as he comfortably seated on his place and looked at his men who were enjoying the food that he personally requested from the pack’s head cook. Draken knew that someone from his pack was killed by the Wolfsbane. And before the news broke to his men, he knew it first. As if everyone saw a ghost, they stopped eating the moment they saw who was seated at the center table. “Alpha!” They simultaneously said. “Yes, enjoy your meal before we proceed to our agenda.” Draken answered them. He roamed his gaze around the place before he settled his gaze on his piece of tenderloin. He silently sliced his piece of meat and smelled it before he put it inside his mouth. The delicious taste of the meat went through his mouth, and he could taste the spices on top of it. Everyone was quiet as they saw the presence of Draken who was finished with his food. “I guess everyone is settled now.” He announced as everyone was also done with theirs. Sam noticed that there was something behind the smile that the Alpha is showing to them, knowing that a member of the pack was killed near the warehouse. He further concluded that Draken was up to something, and it has to do with them. Draken gave him the look that signifies they will have to talk about something after the pack’s meeting, and from then, Sam was eager to know what all about would be. “I hope you enjoyed the morning meal.” Draken said as he looked at the closed back door. “Yes, meat was good Alpha.” Sam answered him back. He knew that the men were planning on getting the information of where Draken got the supply to it. “Alright. We now proceed to our initial purpose of why we are gathered this morning.” The atmosphere started to get heavy as he stood from his seat. “A member of the pack was killed near the warehouse.” The moment he broke the news, the room was filled with whispers and curiosity was visible in the face of the men inside. Draken looked particularly in the direction of the man who lose the life of his own member of the household. It was Alejandro.
