Out of Control

Abigail descends to the ground and looks at them rather awkwardly.  “You left the manor without telling anyone of us.” Lavena walks to her, “We were worried for you, we thought you were abducted or something.” The witch gulps, she doesn’t know what to say to them. She doesn’t know they will be waiting for her to get back. She searches at the back of her head what to say about herself and the reason that she left. “Explain yourself, Crocus.” Abigail looks at them rather awkwardly and gulps, “It was for something I can’t say to you, at all.” She looks at them as she crosses her fingers at her back. “Why can’t you say it to us?” Keeana looks at her as the purple girl sighs, “Because I can’t, that’s it. I just can’t say it to you all.” “Well, at least leave a note or something that you are heading off somewhere. You got us looking for you in the city.” Abigail sighs, “I am sorry, okay? It’s just I need to be quick. It’s not that easy to be someone that has this weird magic. I do what I think the best to do. I just overlooked that you guys will be so worried for me.” Gallant rolls his eyes, “Is the power and title that have been given to you have been stuck in your head? Because it seems so.” Abigail’s eyes twitch as she hears his voice and his statement. She looks at him with fury in her eyes. “Don’t you dare say those things? I didn’t do this because I am trying to be the ‘greatest hero ever.’ I know that will not be heard nor said ever. I did it because I am doing what I need to do in this world. You have been saying that ‘Crocus, you’re a hero,’ ‘Oh, Crocus, you should do this and that,’ ‘People need you, we need your magic,’ ‘Crocus, you’re our only hope against The Dark Wizard.’ So, I did it. I did what you said me to do. I have this magic and I used it for good. I used it to save people. I used it just what you said me how to use it.” She clenches her fist, “You arrogant bastard should learn how to think before you try to block me off. I am not into competing words with you right now yet you seem listening to your ego. If this feeds your ego…” She sighs in frustration, “I didn’t know you are that of a jerk. You’re immature, why were you even called a hero!?” “Because I saved people and I did good things. What are you saying about that? Are you pertaining that I don’t deserve the title!?” Gallant furiously looks at her, “Yes! I am doubting your title, Gallant the Warrior. I don’t know what their requirements for being a hero is, but I need to object to their decision about you being one.” “This is getting personal!” Abigail looks at him with a sarcastic surprised face, “Who’s the one who just went personal earlier, huh? Who said and preemptively judge me that all of these praises and fame that I am getting went into my head when I am just doing my job? Who said it? Who!?” Abigail felt a small force that pushed her aside. “Enough.” She can see Catrina in between them. Catrina faces Gallant, “You need a timeout, Gallant. This is too much.” “This gal needs that timeout. I feel she’s getting insane!” The girl rolls her eyes, “She will get more insane if you are trying to pull her down. Calm with your egotistic desires, Gallant. It will not work this time. You are trying to paint negativity in her name, what’s with that.” “Who said that I am doing that?” Gallant shakes his head in disappointment. “You are a hopeless situation, Gallant. Have we talked about this before? This is just a simple thing and you are making it big. Lavena was just expressing great concern to Crocus here and you are there with your envious attitude.” He laughs, “Hah! What things could I envy with this magical prick? I have everything anyone could ask for. And, this, this gal.” He points at Abigail, “She couldn’t even face her fears. And, she’s trying to be secretive with us. What’s to envy with a possible traitor in this group.” “What’s with the sudden conclusions, Gallant? This isn’t going anywhere, if it is, it’s not a good path. Is this because you aren’t the ‘main hero’ in this group, huh? Is it because you aren’t the ones that are being spoken by many others? You’re being a complete jerk right now. It’s not even justifiable in any way.” His mood dropped, even more, Catrina hit the bullseye. “At least, I am not someone who’s being so depressed and isolated just because she can’t move on to Tabitha’s death.” He can feel his sleeves was pulled harshly in an attempt to lift him up. “Don’t say her name in vain!” She punches his face that pushed him back, almost falling on his bottom. “You don’t know how to be in my place, Gallant. You don’t know how it felt, so you don’t need to say what I need to feel. You f*****g piece of s**t!” Before she can even punch him again, the twins stopped her from doing it. “Catrina! Catrina!” Edsel called her to knock her sense out. Lavena pulled Gallant away from her in an attempt to avoid the fight to further extend. “Let me at him, let me at him!” Catrina tries to shake off the twins’ arms on her. “He has spoken ill of Tabitha. You can’t let him do that! I want to punch you so bad, let me one more time!” Abigail watch in horror how the situation escalated really quickly. It was just a simple attempt to save the secrecy of everything that could help them get out. Everything just went downhill. Keeana reaches for her as she started to break down. “Crocus.” She said lovingly as she embraces her warmly between her arms. “This is my fault,” Abigail muttered under her breath as she covers her face. Keeana sighs as she drags her gently, “Let’s leave them be.” Keeana escorted her inside the manor while Lavena and Wren pulled Gallant out of the scene. The twin brothers calmed Catrina down. It was an overwhelming moment. Everything happened too fast. The archer brought the witch to her room and stayed there with her. Abigail throws herself on the bed and tucked herself into a ball. She hid her face on her knees, embarrassed of what happened. “It’s my fault.” She muttered in her breath several times. Keeana sits beside her and comforts her, gently petting her head. “It’s not, Crocus. It’s not your fault.” She said in a comforting and loving voice. “No, all of this happened because of me.” Abigail insisted, muttering “It’s my fault,” under her voice once more. Keeana lets her talk to herself as Abigail tears up a bit because of the overwhelming moment. “I am sorry.” She said in a muffled voice as Keeana sighs, “You don’t need to be sorry. If there’s someone to be sorry, it’s Gallant. He went suddenly overboard. It was very strange of him to do that. But, I guess sometimes your true colors will be seen once in a while. It’s not really far-fetched for him to do that. He has done that before. Although, very strange that he didn’t make up for his word to change his attitude. I guess there’s nothing strange about people not living up to their promises. He has still this weird superiority complex in his mind. Probably because he was a prince before. But, I don’t believe that he must be born arrogant.” Abigail sighs as she sets her hair aside. She has not been crying hard for a minute, but her face looks so wasted and already tired. “No, I shouldn’t have left without saying anything. I shouldn’t have done things I must not do. This couldn’t have happened. This is all my fault, all because I did things I shouldn’t do.” She sighs, “I hate myself.” Keeana rubs her back, “Listen to me, Crocus. It’s not your fault. It’s your choice to do something for the sake of whatever is in danger. I understand that you need to keep it a secret. But, Lavena is right, you should’ve told us so where are you going. If there’s someone who will worry more than me, it’s Lavena. She’s like the maternal figure that we have here. Besides that, you are in danger, always. The Dark Wizard could get you in anytime if he so wish. You missing for an hour could be a great risk and alert for us. You aren’t like the others. Your presence is crucial for everyone. If that’s lost, there’s a great sense of panic. Even the common people who have lost loved ones are finding them because they are important. How about you? You are much more special than them. You being lost is our loss, especially in these times when we are fighting against someone that has an intention to do that to you.” “I understand that Lavena and all of you are worried for me. I understand that and that’s why I blame myself for everything that just happened. I started this slippery slope of a mess and we’re on the foot of that, hurt and injured.” Keeana sighs, “But, it doesn’t mean you caused it. We all fell for it. And, injuries heal and the pain we are feeling will be eased. Don’t blame yourself for the casualties we had this day. We were not in control of ourselves, but in the future, we should be.” Abigail sighs, “I should apologize to Lavena.” She gets out of the bed and stands, walking out of the room. She searches through hallways for Lavena. As soon as she can hear her loud voice, she approached the door of the room where she can hear it. Before knocking, she thought of eavesdropping first. She puts her ear gently on the door to hear clearly what she’s saying to the other side. “That’s a sensitive subject to Catrina. You know that Gallant. Talking about Tabitha and her death is already worse. Then, you dared to talk ill about her and Catrina’s feelings about it. What has happened to your common sense and sympathy? Is it all gone? Is it all just thrown out of the flippin’ window just for you to win an argument? Did you just throw all of that out to prove you are right even you are not in the first place?” Gallant groans, “Yes, I did. So, what’s the point?” Lavena gasps lightly, “Are you hearing yourself right now, Gallant. Are you?” A sudden crispy slap was heard on the other side of the room. In instinct, Abigail immediately opened the door without even knocking. She checked on them and was on alert to stop them from fighting. She can see Gallant was sat on the bed, holding his cheek. Lavena looked at Abigail, “Crocus, you don’t want to be here. Go. There’s a ferocious beast in this room.” Gallant looks at her with confusion. “What happened?” Lavena turns her head to him with visibly confusion and shock on her face, “What do you mean what happened?” “I mean, what happened? Like, what happened? I just felt a slap, did you do that? It’s so painful.” He rubs his cheek as Lavena was frozen. “You’re joking and this is not the right time for it.” Gallant raises his eyebrow, “It’s really not because I am not joking. I don’t remember anything nor a reason why would you slap me.” Abigail looks at him with nothing to utter. “It’s true. Help me a man out here. Why did you just slap me?”
