Darkness v.s. Flowers

They immediately stand and left the dining room and the dinner they were just eating. They rushed outside as everything went darker than it should be. Nimbus clouds are surrounding the skies of Endale. Abigail looks around, “Already?” She muttered to herself. The citizens are in a pure panic as they rush to their houses. A howling wind blows the frayed capes, robe, and skirts they are wearing, it even blew their hairs. It made it worst with the rain that pours down, soaking them wet. They were all looking above the skies. “He’s back,” Gallant muttered as he grips onto the handle of his sword. Winsel looks at Abigail, “I think you are ready to fight him, huh? He’s already back to fight us all.” “It doesn’t mean that he’s back Crocus is already prepared. That man might have been bored on waiting for her.” Lavena said as they watch a black cloud slowly descend from the sky with an ominous figure standing at the top of it. It's holding its staff with a dire glow of lime color that Abigail has seen in a lot of movies. She can see the robed individual with which she is familiar. He really looks so ominous with the hood of his robe hiding his face. It’s also her first time to see him in this world without much fog covering him. The darkness that’s brought by the night and the dark clouds he’s accompanied with hides him in their shadows. “This is a nice city you have.” He also has a much deeper and haunting voice than the one he had earlier. But, Abigail still can hear Laurence’s voice under that villainy voice that was implemented to him. “It’s a shame that someone could turn it the other way.” The Dark Wizard laughs as the thunder started to roar and the cloud gives a glimpse of lightning. He raises up his hands, especially the staff, in the air. The gem in the staff glows brightly. Suddenly, streams of fog populate the city. From these streams of dark fog comes some dark creatures from the wizard himself. It was like the corrupted that Abigail met, but it's something much more magical than technical. They have this eyes that glow in lime color and snake-like pupils. Their ears were so long that they might have just resembled horns rather than ears. They have sharp fingers. They might be short creatures, but they are something to be feared of. These creatures screech as it charges at them. Abigail pulls her wand out of her necklace and points it at them. Her friends charged as well. Keeana jumps up the roofs to get a good vantage point to shoot these ferocious beasts. Catrina grabs some objects that look like balls and flick the small lid they have. “I am glad I made these earlier.” She muttered to herself as she throws one of it. It land near the small beasts and spilled its contents. As these gray powder touched some water on the ground and some rain droplets, it exploded around the creatures. It managed to propel some of them in different directions. The ones who are near it didn’t survive. Gallant took the fact they were in the air as an advantage for him. He sliced and thrust his sword on some of them to finish them off. Lavena kicks the other ones in a harsh way that propelled them and smashed on the nearest wall that they managed to bump into. Keeana shots some of them that either weakened them or outright killed them. The brothers worked their way on a newly-made swarm of these small dark trolls that decided to attack them. Wren attacked with his dagger and used his feet to get to places. The rain doesn’t do him too well.  Meanwhile, Abigail is having a blast, both literally and figuratively with the power that she learned to use. She’s just propelling everything in the air and even used the flowers to her advantage in these things. Everyone was doing their own thing to help these things deplete in numbers. Some were fun, especially the explosion that both Catrina and Abigail are making. They laugh sometimes when these things plop on the ground like a lifeless doll, either dead or weakened. Minutes later, they have survived the swarm with little to no injuries at all. The Dark Wizard watches over them and witnessed his minions that are literally just ragdolls lost over these heroes. He looks at Abigail and smiles under his robe. As the troll swarms have passed, he raises his staff once more, chanting something under his breath. Suddenly, the ground starts shaking. The trolls might have been defeated but another set of enemies has arisen both from the ground and dead. Even with the cemented and rock path that this city has, these things have managed to work their way over the ground. Skinny creatures with pale gray skin appeared in front of them. They have these overgrown moss around their body that made them look less intimidating and disgusting. Their “rotten” parts are covered in moss with some plants growing out of it. They were like just rocks that has some cracks with some plants and moss growing in them. Although, these things have mist around them that blocks their vision a bit. Everything went foggier as they started to take things seriously. They can see things but they can’t see the things that are getting propelled and thrown at the enemies. Abigail looks at Keeana, “Help me out here!” She shouted at her as she reaches for the archer’s hands. She climbs to the roof of the houses with Keeana. Abigail takes a place and shoots her spells from there. She smirks as she got an idea, “I think you guys should go back to the ground.” She points her wand at the ground as vines with decent thickness rise beneath the man-made rock-hard road. It made some cracks and has broken the road. But, it didn’t stop her from growing these. The vines slowly crawl towards the feet of these overgrown individuals. It grabs their unaware ankles and stopped them from moving. It shifted their attention to it and started struggling. Some were dumb enough that they fall flat on the ground, some were smart that they even think about chomping on these vines. Even they liked it or not, they were slowly pulled under the ground once more. With the small gap that these vines are trying to pull them in, it made some nasty screech of pain from them. They have pulled underground until the vines can’t anymore. Although, it didn’t stop them from moving on. They moved even they don’t have half of their limbs and even all of it. “Target the small gems they have in their forehead, Crocus. That’s the source of their life like our hearts. If we can get it out from them, they will just plop on the ground like dolls. If we didn’t target those, they will still be persistent to get us.” Keeana instructed her as she aims at the head on one of them. She shoots it as it pierced through its head and knocking off the gem out of its grasp on its rocky skin. As per Keeana’s description, it literally just plops on the ground. Some fragile parts of its body broke when it got the impact from the fall.   Abigail nods as suddenly she dodges when she saw rocks flying towards her. She hid behind the warm chimney on one of the roofs. “You didn’t tell they have that ability.” Keeana shrugs, “I just learned it when Gallant accidentally got the gem off on one of them by stabbing it on its head. This is quite new. The Dark Wizard won’t use the same cards  to play against us, Crocus.” She said as she aims her arrow again after she confirms the projectile attack from these skinny stone golems stopped. She managed to fire one arrow before another barrage of pebbles and rocks went flying over them again. Abigail can now hear the groans and screams of pain from her own friends. These things are getting harder to fight off. She peaks from her hiding spot as she decided to swish her wand and points it to the swarm of the stone golems. The petals that she has shot with the magic beam on the golems, only a few propelled and were affected by the explosion. Although, with some of them recovering from the disorientation from the explosion, it gave her time to instruct the vines once more. She points her wand and the vines started moving once more, with a different goal this time. They still hold some of the golems down. But, instead of pulling them down, it kept them in place and made their way up to the forehead where the small gem was. With a single flick or a forceful pull, the gem was removed from their forehead, leaving a lifeless golem behind. It slams on the ground, breaking some of the weak parts of it. Another swarm rose up from the ground. They doubled what they are doing for maximum efficiency in taking these things down. But, with some residual individuals from before and another bigger swarm, it forced them to retreat up top. “Gallant, Win, Ed, Cat, Lavena, go up here!” Wren shouted at them as he climbs up the roof. The rest of them retreats while holding back some of it to slow their speed. “Height will be our friend,” Keeana said as she started shooting three arrows at a time. Abigail cast so many times with so many spells that she can’t even count it. The people with melee weapons started to attack as some of the golems that were not finished by the two were getting near at them. With their friends near them and out of their range, the two can fight without any hesitation. The mist is still a problem for them. “Catrina, throw some of that!” The latter nod as she throws some of these water-activated bombs. It weakened and propelled some of the golems that are on their way to them. It also blew away the mist that’s building up every batch of the swarm. Abigail remembered a mechanic from the game with these kinds of battles. She looks at Keeana and Catrina, “Just keep finishing them. We need to get all of them before they got another army again.” “How? This seems endless unlike the troll one,” Catrina said as she throws another one of those bombs. “No, we just need to finish the last one that’s alive in this battle. If we do that, the Dark Wizard has no incentive to continue attacking us.” Even confused and doubtful, the two agreed with her plan and told the others about it as well. As another swarm rises from the ground, they kept bombing and exploding these things. The people with melee weapons sometimes run up and kill some that are still alive on the battlefield. Gallant and Lavena managed to kill the last three before the lightning strikes again. It signifies another round, but since there are no more golems that were alive, it was the end of it. Laurence smiles behind the coat that he was in. He cleared his throat, “I am impressed.” The Dark Wizard said, slowly approaching them with the cloud. Abigail runs up and goes in the center of them and points her wand to him. “Don’t go near us, I am not going to hesitate to use my very own power against you!” Abigail said as she pants, the wizard laughs. “Getting brave now, aren’t we? That’s an improvement for someone that can be defeated by a single sip of alcohol, Very well, I guess my work’s done here for now. But, I will be back very soon, Crocus.”
