The Darkest Time

Abigail shuffles backward, in fear of what is just happening. All of them moved back and holds onto the weapon. Estelle suddenly rises up in the air, her body was stiff, and her head is tilted. She was looking at  Abigail with a big creepy smile on her face, “I was looking for you.” Estelle’s voice suddenly became distorted. She slowly levitates towards her. The rest crowds over her to protect her, “I finally found you.” Estelle grins, both the ends of her lips reach her eyes. She looks at the people that are scattered around the room, mostly near Abigail. “Do you think you can defeat me?” She lets out an echo-y and horrifying laugh, along with it is her transformation. Her face is slowly surrounded by a black goop, covering it completely. “If you fire a single arrow,” she turns her head to Keeana who’s aiming at her. “Even swinging your sword to hurt me.” She looks at everyone who has bladed weapons on their hands. “Anything you will do to get me out of here…” She smirks, “This girl is the one who will suffer.” Suddenly, there was distortion on Estelle’s face. It shows the real Estelle who was screaming, “Help!” She said before she’s consumed by the black thing once more. Her body is slowly corrupting as well. “Just give me Crocus and no one will be hurt. If you tried to fight, everything will fall out of control.” She turns her head to Estelle’s friends, Naval and Peter. “You don’t want your friend to be safe and sound, do you?” She giggles terrifyingly. She felt a sudden change in the nature of the surroundings as she swings her hand backward. Catrina and Wren who decided to attack her suddenly went flying to the wall, slamming themselves just like what Naval have suffered. She turns to them, “What did I just say?” She giggles, “And, now what happened to you?” She suddenly grips on Catrina’s neck, suffocating her. “Brave souls became dead ones, and you will be one now—” Corrupted Estelle was suddenly interrupted. In the turn of the events, she got to taste her own medicine. She was thrown across the room and slamming on a wall. The real Estelle showed up, screaming in pain. It was caused by a beam of light that came from Abigail’s wand. Across the room she was seen standing, pointing the wand she just discovered at the corrupted Estelle. Catrina lands on her butt and gasping for air. Abigail is shivering because of the mixed emotions she’s feeling right now. Anxiety, fear, pressured, and everything that makes her legs weak to even stand properly. Corrupted Estelle looks at her, “How dare you fight against me? You heard that scream of your newfound friend?” She slowly levitates, rising up from the wreck she was in. Speaking of the wreck, the walls of the dining room has obvious and prominent cracks from all of the bodies slamming on it. Abigail is gripping on her wand with all of her might. Her arms are visibly shaking. She’s still pointing towards the possessed Estelle. “Get out of here, right now!” With the determination left in her body, she shouted at her across the room. She took a deep breath to collect every courage that she has. “Who are you to command me?” She slowly levitates at her. The others are preparing to risk their lives to jump in and attack her. “I am the one you will obey. You must, in the greater good of all.” She swiftly floats towards her. Abigail closes her eyes and thinks of something, hoping it will activate her wand again somehow. She feels a recoil movement, meaning that she successfully has done it again. She opens her eyes and to her disappointment, the magic she unleashed was held by the corrupted Estelle. In her hands was a ball of the spell, whatever it is, that she shot at her. She smirks once more, “You thought your magical wand could save you. I am sorry, no.” She shot it towards her companions. With his reflexes, Gallant was able to bounce it away from them. With the blade of his sword, the ball of magic almost shot back at the corrupted lady. But, it failed to hit her. “Impressive.” She creepily turns her head to Abigail once more. “You’re coming with me.” She rushes to her, speeding across the room. Gallant pulls Peter closer and holds his shoulder. He whispers in his ears, “I am sorry.” Peter was confused but not for long. Gallant suddenly runs to the corrupted lady as she was about to grab Abigail by the neck. He raises his sword to swing it at her, ending probably Estelle’s life. It was the time that he knew he screwed up as he feels a sudden force pushing him in the opposite direction. The corrupted lady has detected him going for an attack. It stopped her from her tracks as she watches Gallant get thrown to where he was just from. It gave Abigail another opportunity to shot her with her wand again, but, another part of her magical attribute had other plans. The lady felt something grabbed her feet. She looks down as she saw flowering vines grabbed her, wrapping around from her ankles and crawling through her legs. She lets an unholy screech, possibly damaging Abigail’s hearing and everyone around them. The corruption which was the black spots that are surrounding Estelle’s body is slowly retreating up to the body. She tried to get it out with everything she can. The vines in Abigail’s wand suddenly crawl up, hovering through the air. It tangles themselves to each other. At the end of it was one bud of a purple flower. She slowly points it up at the corrupted Estelle. The flower bud slowly blooms, the center of it slowly lights up. The vines that kept the corrupted one in place still going up and up to her body. It slowly removes the black corrupted spots in Estelle’s body and dress. She screams, “No! No!” The flower’s petals slowly opened. It was a beautiful flower, unlike the ones in the vines, it has a stem going from the center rather than a fluffy ball of pollen. It glows brightly as a golden beam of magic came from it, hitting the corrupted lady in the process. She released another unholy scream, it echoed through the inn. With its entrance open, it can be heard outside as well. The rest can’t witness as much of what’s happening since the glow of the light is very bright for their eyes. They cover their sight partially to see what’s happening. Although, most of it is just bright light coming from two different parties. Abigail is also covering her eyes and let the wand do its thing. She doesn’t know if she controls anything. She was clueless about what’s really happening. The light slowly fades and the scream of terror from the corrupted lady stopped as well. They all can hear a loud thump of the ground. When they checked it, it was Estelle lying on the floor, unconscious. “Estelle!” Peter said as he runs up to her. “Estelle!” He cried again as he lifts her up on the ground, holding her between his arms. He cups her cheek and shakes her head, “Estelle? Estelle?” He called her once more. He immediately grabbed her wrist and checked her pulse. His face suddenly lightens and his breathing eased. He can feel a faint pulse. He can also feel she’s still breathing. “Estelle.” He embraced her, tearing up a bit. Naval approached him, carrying a lot of pain in his body. He dropped down to them and joined the hug both of his friends shared. Lavena checks Gallant, he was knocked unconscious as he slammed on the wall. She noticed his chest contracts and relaxed, a sign he was still breathing. Edsel and Winsel helped Catrina and Wren up who are still on the ground. They were conscious, they were just in so much pain that they can’t stand nor even sit straight up. Catrina grabbed a pouch in her pocket. She opens it with the help of Winsel as it reveals small white balls. She grabbed three and gave them to Wren. “Drink all of that, resist the sourness of it.” She said as she immediately lets herself sat on a chair that was still standing beyond all of this mess. She grabbed a glass of juice that was served to them and took the medicine she made for this situation. While they all check each other, Abigail was just standing in the corner, clueless, surprised, and visibly confused about what just happened. The vines on her wand retract to their original position. The flower slowly closes and turned to into a tiny flower bud once more. The vines that held Estelle in position slowly retract to the c***k on the floor where it has grown. With the weakness she’s feeling, she dropped down to her knees. Her whole body is still shaking. What happened earlier was so tense for her. She looks at the wand that is held by her shaking hand. In her head were so many questions popping out of nowhere. Everything was confusing for her but she’s glad everything was solved. “Crocus, are you fine?” Lavena offers her hand to her. She nods as she accepts it. The lady in front of her pulls her to help her stand. “What just happened…?” Abigail asked, she’s still completely confused. Everything felt like it was a scary crazy dream she have encountered a lot before, except everything felt real. Lavena sighs, “Destruction has happened. We are so screwed with the inn managers, especially to Mother Yvette.” As they were speaking, a familiar tall figure entered the messy room they are in. “What happened in this room? This is an ungodly amount of mess.” Lavena turns, it was the product of her nightmares. It was Mother Yvette herself but this time with an unhappy face. “We are sorry, Mother Yvette.” She immediately said as she almost kneeled on the floor. The lady stopped her, “No, just tell me what happened here. Why are you sorry? Did you summon a demonic being around here? Sieqa said that there’s a black figure levitating in the room.” She walks around, looking for the damage that was caused by the sudden disaster they never foresee. She noticed three individuals on the ground, one of them was laying and unconscious. “What happened to the lady?” Peter looks at Mother Yvette. “She’s doing fine, Mother Yvette. She was a victim of whoever possessed her. We were just having a good time and her eyes suddenly went black. She was rooting for Crocus, saying that it needs her, somehow.” He looks at Abigail. The guilt that she never realized she’s feeling became more prominent. The lady looks at her, “Have you made an enemy to a being that has an ability to possess someone and do such damage to everything and everyone around her.” “The Dark Wizard.” She muttered to herself. “What is it again?” Abigail looks at Mother Yvette and sighs, “It might be the Dark Wizard, Mother Yvette.” The lady imposes a scrutinizing look, “The Dark Wizard?” Lavena looks at Abigail, “But, Crocus. He said to you that he wouldn’t bother you as much? Or, at least do such things like this?” The witch shrugs and shakes her head, “I-I don’t know, Lavena. He just visited me in my dream, there’s no reason for him to visit me as far as I know. He visited me because of my allergic reaction to alcohol and mocked me. Even I believe it’s him, I see no reason for him to go after me again many minutes have passed after our previous meeting.” It made Mother Yvette think, “If you don’t believe it’s him. It’s someone else, Crocus. Are you sure you didn’t make another enemy other than the Dark Wizard?”
