Chapter 3Edith's heart sank at the sight of Lord Symington's carriage parked in front of the manor steps. Albert was waiting for her by the front of the house. He helped her down from the buggy. “He be in there, Lady Edith.” He didn't have to say “who” Edith knew. She walked calmly into the house toward the open doors to the parlor. She stopped short of the doors, took a deep breath, and walked casually into the room.
