Ava sighed and hoped she was doing the right thing and that she was not going to regret it. “ I need to inform Mom and Dad about my decision to get married to Cayden. They don’t need to know why we are getting married. They just need to know I am getting married.”, she thought. Ava stepped out of her room and headed straight for her parents’ room. She got to their door, knocked, and was asked to come in so she opened the door and entered. “ Hey sweetheart, how are you doing today? I’m fine, Dad. No work today? I will go to work. I just need to discuss something important with you two.”, Ava and her parents exchanged pleasantries. “ Okay. What is it about? Is everything okay? Are you having issues with any of your part-time jobs? Relax Mom, everything is fine Or did you receive a call from the hospital about your brother? No, Mom. Jim is fine. He will be discharged tomorrow as said by the doctor. Then what is the issue, honey? I am getting married. To whom? Cayden Grayson. That is out of the blue. You never said anything about having a boyfriend or seeing someone. Why do you want to get married all of a sudden? We have been together for some time. Ava worked four part-time jobs, two on weekdays and two on weekends but after her brother’s accident, she worked five part-time jobs, three on weekdays and two on weekends. She worked at Bloom & Plume Coffee from as early as 6 am to 2 pm, worked at La Lo La rooftop restaurant from 3 pm to 7 pm, and worked at Sound Nightclub from 9 pm to 12 am on weekdays. For weekends, she worked at 24-hour Adams coin laundry from 8 am to 2 pm and worked at Sunfare meal delivery services from 3 pm to 10 pm. She got to work and got busy. She had it in mind that she had a dinner date later in the day so she planned on asking for permission from her manager at La Lo La rooftop restaurant because the time of the dinner was also the time she had to be at work. Time passed by so fast Ava didn’t realize it was 4 pm. She decided to ask for permission from her manager. She left the restaurant at 4:30 pm and quickly rushed home to get ready for her date with Cayden. Ava heard her phone ring. It was Cayden calling so she answered quickly. “ Hey, are you ready? Yes, I am. I’m almost at your house. Meet me outside. Okay.” The call hung up and Ava quickly stepped out of her house. Ava sat in Cayden’s car and he drove off to the location for their dinner. It was a beautiful five-star restaurant and Cayden already made a reservation for both of them so they were warmly welcomed and they were taken to their table. They sat down and decided to not beat about the bush and head straight to the reason why they were there. “ Ava, my Lawyer has drafted the terms and conditions for our contract so I’m going to give you your copy so that you can read through it and see if you are okay with it. Alright, can I have it then?” Cayden had the copies of the contract in a brown envelope with him. He took both out and handed one out to Ava. Ava stretched her hand out for it and started reading. “ The contract marriage between Mr. Grayson(Party A) and Ms Ava Fox(Party B), Terms and conditions. You are Party A and I’m Party B, okay that’s fine. 1. The marriage agreement between Party A and Party B will last for two years. 2. Party B will bear Party A’s name. Excuse me, why would I bear your name? I don’t want to change my name for just two years so please strike that out. Okay, let’s strike that out. You can continue. 3. Party A would have total control over Party B’s life. You’ve got to be kidding me. Why would you want to control my life? I’m never going to let that happen. Because that’s the type of person I am. There’s nothing you are going to say that’s going to make me strike that out. We are not taking it out. You will be my wife so I will need to have control over you. I am going to pretend I didn’t see that part of the contract 4. Party B will not meddle in Party A’s affairs.”, she laughed so hard and said, “ You want to have total control of my life but you don’t want me to meddle in your affairs.
