“How long has it been?” I ask. With everything happening and so many people running around screaming, it’s hard to keep track of the time.
Will pulls out his pocket watch. “One hour. So, we have another hour before she goes down?”
I nod, wishing we had more time than that. “I think we have time to help more people down below.”
“I’d prefer that you get on a lifeboat immediately, but I don’t believe I’ll be able to convince you of that,” he says, gazing at me hopefully.
“Absolutely not.” I give him a weary smile, which seems ridiculous with everything going on, but there’s nothing normal about anything right now.
