*Sabrina* The moment Gabriel’s hand slips from mine, my world becomes a nightmare. I scream his name, but the sound vanishes in the thunder of the Earth splitting apart. Crashing and roaring devour my voice. People slam into me from every direction, all elbows and shoulders. A man barrels past with blood dripping down his face, clutching a bundle wrapped in cloth, and I pray it’s not a baby he carries. I try to fight against the tide, to push my way back toward where I last saw Gabriel, but the ground bucks beneath my feet like a wild animal.
