9. Meeting The Beta

Aryanna’s POV: I walked away towards my room, hoping to hide away in the privacy of it and just cry to my heart’s content and the moment I got into my room and laid on the bed, I let my guard down completely and allowed myself cry. I missed my family so much, it was difficult living knowing that there was no one that was for me, every single person was against me and it didn’t matter what I did, I always remained the bad person. I couldn’t remember the last time I had laughed from my heart, all my days were filled with longing, crying, working and just general mourning for the beautiful life that I had lost. Sometimes, I wished that I could have gone with my mother and not ever have to experience the life I currently was stuck in. The door was suddenly pushed open and I scrambled out of the bed, hitting the floor unceremoniously. Killian stood by the door with a disgusted frown on his face and he took a moment to observe me, eyeing me from head to toe in a manner that made me shiver with disgust. I could already imagine the dirty things that he was thinking towards me and it made my skin crawl. I didn’t want him anywhere around me and the longer he stayed in my presence, the more anxious I became. “I-is there a problem? I’m I n-needed f-for anything?” I asked. “When is there not a problem where you’re involved?” He sneered in my direction and I flinched at the tone of his voice but he didn’t even seem to notice. Instead he walked into the room and shut the door behind him, causing panic to start to bubble within my stomach. My instincts screamed for me to run and try to get past him or get help, or even try to scream, but who would come to my aid? There was not a single person I knew in this pack who would stick up for me. Killian walked up to me and he didn’t stop until I was trapped against a wall, and grabbing my arms forcefully, he began speaking. “Listen to me you little w***e. I’m not done with you and best believe that I’ll find you wherever it is you’re being taken to and have a taste of your body.” He whispered maliciously and I whimpered, not wanting to struggle against him lest I accidentally hurt him and was subjected to another horrifying punishment. “You’re hurting me please.” I squeaked when his grip on my arm only continued to tighten, he didn’t let go of me, instead he continued to squeeze until tears escaped my eyes . I was pretty sure that was going to bruise. “Please.” I tried again. “I like hearing you beg. Too bad, mom and dad need you at this point, else i would have had my way with you here and now, since you’re obviously begging nicely for it.” He said with a smirk, before releasing me and walking away from the room. I nursed my hurting arm but only for a second before wiping my face clean and walking out of the room and towards the living area where the family was gathered. I heard several voices coming from within but when I heard a particular voice it felt like my heart stop beating properly within my chest. “I apologize once again the Alpha was unable to stay back for the feast. He does appreciate every single effort that has been put into it to bring it all together but unfortunately an emergency has happened back at home that he has to see through but I’ll be sure to report everything that takes place to him.” That voice. That was the man from earlier. That I had bumped into. I could feel my wolf going crazy in my mind, and every single thing in me warned me to turn back around, run into my room and just hide there forever. But since when did that become an option for me? I said a silent prayer to the Goddess that nothing went wrong before finally entering into the living area, with my head bowed. “Like I said earlier, we have a gift for the Alpha, we know of what has happened recently and we’re just hoping we could help him in whatever way that we can. Anyway, here she is. Very well trained, has been working in this house for a really time and is one of the best maids, trust me she’s not going to give him any troubles.” Alpha Harley introduces with a wide smile on his face and I quickly averted my eyes before we could make eye contact. “Who is she?” The stranger said and I held my breath when the Luna started talking. “We saved her when she was younger and she had lived with us since that time.” She responded quickly and I heard the man hum. “Go get us some drinks while we finish up this conversation.” The Luna instructed in a warm voice and it took everything in me to not snicker at how fake it sounded. I moved to do as told, pouring out the wine into different flutes before carrying them all into a tray and walking back out. The kitchen and around the house was mostly deserted and it was obvious that the maids had retired for the night. I carefully made my way back towards the living area, walking as carefully as I could while trying to balance the tray of drinks in my hands. It happened so fast, one minute I had my eyes on the tray in front of me, trying to achieve the perfect balance and the next minute there was suddenly something in my way and I was tripping on it, which sent the glasses flying everywhere and shattering. For a brief second, everything went quiet and I could hear the blood rush to my ears, but I was sure that wasn’t the only blood because I could already feel the painful sting from what I knew were the cuts from the glass but that wasn’t my biggest problem. It was the look in the Alpha’s and Luna eyes when I locked eyes with them. It promised doom. I looked to the side to find a smirk on Lisa’s face. She had been the one to trip me.
