Concealed Love

Part- 2 My story

Ella's POV

                 I went home right after the meeting ended, i had to make sure of everything. I went down to my secret basement, even Iri don't know about it as it is beneath my bed which moves as i opened the door through the switch on the back of the bed, everything that i need which could expose my true identity are all here. I went straight to my desk and opened up the first drawer to see the hourglass but it is the same, it is the same as always, that person said everything will start when all the sand falls, but looking at it i still have a year or two left, did he deceive me? Living for a long time i have lost count of my age and i have been to almost all the countries trying to hide my existence but i had to move before long as along with the increase in population it gets harder to go unnoticed. Whatever the case is this time it's time for me to prepare myself for what's coming and face it head on.

                  I can't hide forever, sooner or later people will find out what I am. I'm a demon who has lived for more than a million years, I have survived and witness the growth as well as the ruins of the humans. I know how kingdoms expand and eventually how their greed let them to fight amongst themselves, loosing their culture in search for power that is easier to obtain. Throwing away their pride and power for money and pleasure, destroying peace and freedom. Everything had changed but for me, my time had stopped moving from that day, i don't age, i don't change, weapons and nature cant kill me, even my own fire can't harm me but i'm still living cause you told me to wait and now the wait is finally over, i will finish my task here and leave.

                    Having fire ability which i couldn't control and red eyes which was hard to hid, i had to live alone away from places where people live but i gradually adapt myself to the changes, managed to control my power and conceal my eyes and learn to fit in among the humans. Killing every demon that came to find me i was capable of defending myself and its been a thousand years since a demon last showed up in front of me but i know they are there i can feel their presence and this time im more than capable of defending myself, i'm gonna hunt them down the moment i find them.

                     No one except the demons and Old Li know that I am a demon. Im sure Iri knows that im not a normal human because for the then years we've lived together shes grown into a fine woman as for me i have not changed from the day we met. But she never ask, she just accept whatever i told her and I am sure she will continue to do so until i told her myself. Iri is the only human whom i have been with after all these years, she is like a sister to me and when time comes i will tell her everything, she will be in danger if she were to know about all this now, I'll make sure that she's not harmed.

                 I went out of the basement and checked the clock, it's already 4pm i decided to go for a walk and visit Old Li's old library, Old Li or Liam which is his real name is an old man who is a demi human, his father is a human and his mother a demon and both were killed by demons for it is forbidden for demon girl to marry a human as to increase the birth of pure blood baby but they abduct human woman and let them bore demon child to increase their population his parents were killed as an example for other demon. Demons can consume humans life to gain strength but only if he is a pure blood or either his father is one, A child born between a demon girl and human does not possessed such abilities. He hate demons for what they did to his parents but i went there from time to time for information, he is gifted with fortune telling as well as collecting information and that is what i need right now.

               As i reached his store there were no customers and he was organising the books. " Old Li, ya still alive? has it been a 100 years since we last met? and isn't it time to give up on this rubbish store and go somewhere to enjoy your last days" i smirked as i walk in and continued " you've been living for 800 years and this is all you ever do, why do you still keep this store anyway, live a free life i can support you, burn away this rubbish store". It's his parents old book shop and he has been refurnishing it and looking after it, he has to hid from humans and demons despise him still he could do a lot of things but chose to stay here as this means a lot to him but if i hadn't pissed him a little he would have ignored me.

               As soon as he heard me he frowned and spat back, " you are the old one here witch, no matter how long a demon lives they still grow, but you, you don't, you're just standing there waiting for someone to kill you, truly a pitiful princess". " Woah, Calm down old man, isn't calling me a princess too nice?" i acted calm but he replied "I know who you really are witch and i also know that someone has found the sword that can end your life". Nothing can kill me except the sword of purity which was originally Al's, it was given to him by the heavens to cleanse the evil darkness from earth and no one beside him could wield it. My grip on my staff tightens as i ask " How'd you no that someone has taken it?" he stoped his work and answered in a serious tone " I don't care wether you live or die, I am saying this because i don't want the demons to achieve their goal. Listen witch, someone has found the sword of purity, It was suppose to be held only by its one and only owner, if wielded by someone else the sword will burn their body but someone else who is capable of wielding it has found it and because of it the fate which was to happen years later has started moving. Fate has changed but tragedy still awaits, those pure bloods has also noticed the change and have started moving. All these years they are building an army of demi human and to wage war as soon as the right time comes. I am just asking not to let those demons break havoc and to finish them for good."

                 I gave him a mischievous smile saying " Aw it feels nice to hear you placing your hopes and dreams in me, don't worry i wont let you down. Now im gonna leave and prepare myself not to let you down, ok? Old Li." Regretting what he had just said he shouted " Don't come back!" i laugh and shouted back at him " I will, Bye old man!" and left his shop. I left the shop but as soon as i left i sensed someone, a demon following me, i acted natural and as soon as i reached my front gate he approached me, i turned back and grab his throat but it was just the man from before who asked me to join him and Al for the meeting.

                 " I am so sorry, i thought you were ... Ahh I am so sorry umm" I gasped taking back my hand from his neck. He adjusted his collar and said back with a smile "It's Johnathan, please call me John and It's okay Mrs. Ella, i should have informed you before coming here. I came to give you your contract paper, you left it in the office earlier." That's right everything was in a mess so i ran out not thinking of anything. " I had some urgent work so i left in a rush, sorry for bothering you please come in" I was just trying to be polite cause deep down i was hoping for him to refuse and like he had read my thought he straight away replied " That's fine, i just came to give you the contract as Mr. Aldrich ordered as his assistant and also to give you this letter of invitation to his party for becoming the new CEO, It is at 6:00 pm tomorrow, hope to see you there. Well than, Bye miss Ella". I said ' thank you' as he got onto his car and drove away, the presence that i felt earlier was also gone, it definitely was a pure blood unlike the demi humans they used to send me before. So now they have finally decided to take action themselves hmm, damn those pure bloods, i won't let them have their way with me, i'll never become what they want me to be.
