Waking up from the thought that I was living with the man I slept with makes me shiver in horror. Every day, I always had to avoid getting eye contact with him because I felt like every minute, he would explode and tell everyone that one night we had. It scares me to death. It scares me because what I did was a sin. On his behalf, he has nothing to lose because he’s a man. Well, that’s how society works. Not just in the mortal world, but also here, in our own special world. I will be on the receiving end. I will be the basin to catch every judgment and, of course, punishment. Even though it was the two of us that night, it would be just me who would get the punishment. Unfair, isn’t it? But what can I do? I’m just an omega. Powerless and outcast.
I sigh heavily as my thoughts wander around. I can’t live like this. Like a scared rat. I want to at least live a peaceful life during my time here in this village. But whenever I think about being confident in front of my Alpha, I am always taken back to the realization of my mistake. One unfavorable move to my Alpha will cause my life and dignity.
I chuckle. Do I still have dignity? I silently shed a tear as I bit my lower lip. If I just wasn’t stubborn and choose to rebel, I won’t be on this place. If I only let my fate unfold on its own, I won’t be on this state. If I only wholeheartedly accepted my fate, I wouldn’t be tangled with my alpha.
It suffocates me to live under the same roof with him, but this is what the moon goddess has prepared for me. I don’t have any power to go against her and change my fate. I have already committed a sin. I don’t want to recklessly make another one. That’s why with all my strength, I get up from the hard mattress of my bed, went out of the isolated room, more likely storage room and went straight to the kitchen to cook for my pack.
‘What I have for breakfast?’ a husky baritone voice echoed behind my back. I could feel his morning breathe on my nape because my hair was tied on bun. I shiver. But I perfectly tried to hide it. ‘Hmm?’ he hummed. ‘What I have for breakfast?’ he repeated, emphasizing the word ‘I’.
‘Eggs and Bacons,’ I answer. Trying my hardest not to stammer.
But damn it. Alpha Fenrir took a one step closer to me. I could already feel him, closing the thin distance between us. ‘What if I don’t like those? I’m sure I have the authority to make a request? More likely an order. Right, omega?’ he asked, and I could sense that he smirked devilishly.
I slowly nod. ‘Yes, Alpha.’
‘Then I want you for breakfast…’ he whispers and licks the side of my neck. He then chuckled right there, making me shiver in both coldness and hotness. ‘How does it feel?’ he tempted. I bit my lower lip and didn’t answer. He then repeated licking my neck for three times. I almost moan! ‘Come on, Lincoln. You don’t have to stop yourself from moaning…’ he whispers and cups my bre*st.
‘Alpha,’ I firmly said. But sounded like pleading.
Alpha Fenrir chuckles again and then went on the sink. He washes his mouth and spit the water with so much dislike as he glances at me. ‘Your taste won’t still change the fact that you are an omega.’ And he then walks out from the kitchen.
I smiled wryly as a tear finds its way. I quickly wipes it away as I shake my head. I can’t believe that I let him do that. I can’t believe that I let myself give in with just his tongue! I can’t believe that I was easy to tempt. I can’t believe that I can’t stand up for myself. But again, what can I do? He’s an Alpha, the King’s son, and the future King of this Kingdom. And me, I’m just a mere omega.
After a tiring day where all my pack members command me all the time, I finally have the time to rest. To my surprise, Meri—our pack’s Salutary (Healer) knocks on my door with a plate of food on her hand. She smiled a little at me which taken me back.
‘What can I do for you, Meri?’ I ask carefully with respect.
Meri shook her head and offers the plate. ‘The food you ate earlier wasn’t enough to give you energy. Here, eat more because you need it.’
‘But…’
‘No buts. And you don’t have to worry. If someone finds out that I give you food, I’ll be responsible with it.’
‘Alpha Fenrir might punish you,’ I worriedly said but it only made her winces.
‘Just take the food, Hydra. you need energy to run all the commands they make.’
Nodding, I accepted the food and Meri left right away. With a full and satisfy stomach, I was able to sleep soundly.
Just like what I always do for almost a week now, I woke up early and went straight to the kitchen to cook for their breakfast. Then I started cleaning the kitchen area, the bathroom, the dining and next was the living room while everyone is still sleeping.
When I was already cleaning the stairs, Therese’s door opens, and she went out with her morning look. She’s already dressed and fresh. I continue what I was doing when Therese stops right in front of the bucket placed in front of me. I ignored her and just went on what I was doing. Later, I just felt the water cascading on me. it was already dirty since I used it to clean the staircase from the bottom and I am already at top. It pisses me. but I held myself and just wipes away the water to my face. Unfortunately, I accidentally wipe off the water towards Therese’s way and it splash on her clothes.
And just like that, Therese started beating me.
‘Don’t you know how much this cost, huh!?’ she asks while pulling my hair after she beat me. ‘I bet even if you sell yourself, you won’t be able to afford this!’ she hissed and slaps me hard.
I almost cried. But I stopped myself. The least thing I want Therese to see is me, crying in pain. I let her slaps and beats me. I already tasted the blood in my mouth, and I already felt my cheeks getting numb. Still, I didn’t fight back. I just let her. Just like how I let Alpha Fenrir have me on my neck.
It hurts to think that back in our village, everyone thinks that I am the bravest omega. Everyone thinks that I can stand for myself. Everyone thinks that I am a special omega who is brave. But it all changes now. It all changes because in this place, I have nothing but acceptance. Acceptance of what I was destined to be. In this place, I am weak. In this place, I am helpless. In this place, the only thing I am allowed to do is to let my pack do what they want. Because as an omega, we are destined to get slave and honor those who are strong and those who are in the position.
‘You deserve to kiss the floor!’ Therese’s hissed again. She pulled my hair tighter and slaps me harder. She then pulls me on the edge of the stairs as she places herself behind me, ready to play and use me as her toy. ‘You have to taste this in order for you to understand that it’s not just Alpha Fenrir who has the power. I, too, have that. This will be your warning not to disrespect me,’ she exclaimed.
I chuckled mentally. If only I can say that she’s a crazy b***h, I would say that without seconds of hesitation. Because she’s a real crazy b***h. It was her fault. It was all her fault to begin with. If she just didn’t splash the water on me, I wouldn’t wipe off the water that splashes back on her. If she’s on her right senses, she won’t make this a big deal. But of course, she’s Therese, our Delta who thinks that’s already the Queen. I smirked. I could still remember the first day we gathered on the village hall where she acted majesty and classy, outpowering the other Delta’s, but she ends up shaming herself on her own. It was disastrous. It was her fault as to why she slips on the floor, but she passes the blame on the janitor. Everyone laughs at her silently. But just because she’s the Delta of Alpha Fenrir’s pack, she then uses it for everyone to respect her.
Sighing, I close my eyes and just waited for Therese’s to push me. I just waited for my body to roll down and hits the floor. I even already imagined my head hitting the floor and bloods will scatter. I wince. I almost imagined myself dying. Well, at the deepest of my mind, I realized that it is too early to die. And as much as possible, I don’t want to die in Therese’s hand.
And it seems like moon goddess heard me because seconds later, I just felt Therese’s letting go of my hair.
‘You know that once you k*ll our pack’s omega, you’ll be held responsible, right?’ Alpha Fenrir’s cold voice echoed on the room. I was surprised to hear him. but I was too stunned because he was interrupting?
‘She’s in fault,’ Therese’s reasoned.
‘You didn’t answer my question,’ Alpha Fenrir spoke again. ‘You’ll held responsible once you k*ll her. Especially that it just the first week since we arrived here. It seems like you overuse your privilege, Delta,’ Alpha Fenrir said as he deepened the word ‘Delta’. Don’t create your own rules,’ he said and carefully walks on the stairs as he peeks over my face. Unconsciously, I move away my face, hiding my bruises. ‘Meri,’ he called our Salutary. ‘Clean her wounds. Clean this once you’re healed.’
I don’t know if I will be thankful to Alpha Fenrir for interrupting Therese on pushing me or not. I felt like he just got another key over me. I felt like what he just did right now will cost me something later. And as I think about it, I realized then that it is not just Therese who toys me, but also Alpha Fenrir.
I groan as Meri cleans my bruises. She keeps on sighing every time I groan. I felt like a little more time and she’ll start talking. And while Meri carefully cleans my wounds, a lone tear escapes my eyes. Her light hands make me remember my dearest friend, Aurora. Now that I think about her, there was a pinch of pain in my heart. I wonder how she is. I hope that she’s not experiencing this kind of beating because I couldn’t afford to see her hurting.
‘Just cry,’ Meri said which takes me back to my reality.
‘I’m sorry,’ I apologize.
‘It is nothing. Just cry all you want. You don’t have to pretend in front of me. I know that this is hard to believe, but you can be yourself in front of me. And that…I don’t do beating.’
With my surprised reaction, I looked at her. She just smiled. ‘I believe in that.’
Meri smiled. ‘If only I have the same level of rank with Therese, I will be able to protect you from her. But my apologizes because she’s upper than me.’
I shook my head. ‘This is already enough.’
Meri smiled sadly. ‘It broke my heart when I saw you back there,’ she confesses. ‘And since I am no match with Therese, I just immediately went on Fenrir—Alpha Fenrir’s room and wakes him up,’ she continues which makes my eyes widened. ‘When he saw you there, when he saw the blood stain, he was fuming mad. Like a calm volcano who is ready to erupt…’ And then she smiled as she reaches for my hand. ‘That’s when I realized that he didn’t change at all.’
He didn’t change at all… What does it mean? A question I had in my mind since that day. And from that moment, I started to see Alpha Fenrir on a different way.
