The truth

Adrianna Pov:

"Thank goodness you are okay Ari." I see Ryan coming towards me with a relief look on him.

"Hey Ry." I say forcing a smile. Ryan rolls his eyes at me folding his hands."Don't Ry me. Where the hell were you?" He asked.

"What do you mean where was I. I went for a walk." I lied. "Hu-hu, of course you did." Ryan said. Obviously catching my lie.

"The truth now." He said firmly. "I am telling the truth." I insist. "I went for a walk. I woke up felt bored and decided to take a walk." I say hoping I sound convincing enough.

"Okay. First of all Ari. I know you better than anyone else, and I also know you did not infact go for a walk, cause I scanned this entire castle and even the palace grounds looking for you." Ryan says already losing his patience. "Now you are gonna tell me the truth or do I have to force it out of you myself." He says tapping his feet lightly on the ground with his hands still folded.

"Okay fine." I sigh. I did not go for a walk. I say, making Ryan roll his eyes.

"Obviously." He murmurs. He stars at me with a softer expression unfolding his hands and sitting next to me on the very comfy couch.

"Arianna. Since we got to Eden you have been acting really strange and don't say nothing's wrong, remember I know you better than you know yourself. Tell me the truth. You never know I could help." He shrugs.

I snort.

"Trust me Ryan you can't help this time. I am screwed, like majorly screwed." I say.

Hearing this Ryan tenses up. "Okay, what happened." He asks looking really concerned. I stare at him for awhile before sighing and resting my back on the couch.

"Well it's a very horrific story." I tell him.

"Good thing I like horror." He gives me that stupid reassuring smile. "Just tell me what's wrong. He probes me.

I let out another sigh before finally deciding to just tell him. "Well so I was going home after dropping off Hailey and you at your respective homes the day I won this vacation when suddenly a weird guy jumped me. Long story short, he is a vampire and he tried to bite me but I was quick enough to stab him with the pocket knife I always keep with me and now he is after me." I explain, only breathing when I was done with the story.

Ryan remains quiet for a while.

"Woah!" He exclaims.

" Woah? is that all you have to say." I say in a blank voice.

"I don't know what else to say." He looks at me still shocked. "So this has been going on for that long and you didn't think to talk to me or Hailey about it?" He questions.

"Well....., I didn't wanna bother you guys with my problem and besides I already have a plan." I try to defend myself.

"And what is this plan?" He asks. I hesitate for a while. He might just call stupid and delusional, but I already told him my problem might as well tell him what I intend to do.

I think if I can get an audience with the king he might be able to help me find this vampire so I could apologize to him. I tell him. Ryan snorts.

"And how do you intend to get an audience with the king?" He asks. " Well, according to Kayden. The king has special people he trusts if I can get to one of them he might be able to help." I say, trying to convince more myself than Ryan.

"Okay let's say your plan is good. How do you wanna find 'this people'." He quotes. "In order to talk them into helping you?" He asks me.

"Well that's where I went. I say lowering my voice. We were told that an entire wing was dedicated to these people, so I went there to track at least one of them and luckily I did. I saw one of them come out and was able to follow him to a restaurant. Now I just need to figure out how to talk to him and convince him to help me get an audience with the king." I tell him.

Ryan just stares at me like I have grown two heads. "Are you crazy." He almost screams. You are spying on supes now." He paces Infront of me with anger. " First of all it's beyond wrong and what if you get caught? The king would definitely have your head for this. He said in a worried tone.

What on earth are you thinking Anna." He sits back down. No one has called me that name since I left my uncle and aunt to stay alone.

"Relax." I say to Ryan. "Trust me Ryan I have got this all figured out I promise. Tomorrow am gonna go talk to the supernatural I was able to track down okay?" I assure him. "It's gonna be fine."

"No-no-no, you are going nowhere. Do you even know what kind of creature you tracked down? Worst of all what if it's a vampire and the person you stabbed is his brother, then you are so screwed." Ryan rants, trying to convince me how much of a bad idea this is.

Well, I didn't really think of that but I can't let Ryan know he has a point. That will only make his argument stronger.

"Relax Ryan, I did background check. The supernaturals that are closest to the king have no siblings." I lie, hoping he doesn't catch up on it. "Just please Ryan let me do this I need to." I plead.

He stares at me for a while the sighs. "Fine." He agreed.

"Yes." I say feeling happy and to say the truth. I feel lighter after telling it to someone else. "Thanks for understanding Ryan." I say.

Fine but... He said. "I am going with you to see this strange guy." He conclude giving me his 'I dare you to argue look'.

I think it through for a while. It will be nice for me to have company. I mean I know nothing about this guy what if he tries to hurt me. I think to myself.

"Fine, but you let me do the talking don't bombard him with questions." I lay down my rules.

Ryan seem to think of it for a while before finally agreeing to it.

"Where is Hailey.' I ask.

"She is in her bedroom wanna see her?" Ryan asks.

"Oh no. Just wanted to be sure she is fine. Anyway I will go to my bedroom. See you tomorrow." I wave at him before disappearing into my bedroom.
