CHAPTER ONE Lila I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. A loud growl echoed through the forest, close enough that I knew they were catching up to me. My foot got stuck in a web of fallen branches and I fell on my face, a burst of pain following the contact. Just as I tried to get up, wincing at the pain in my foot, a sinister chuckle, coming from right in front of me, made my face pale. Raising my head, I caught sight of a pair of black, worn out sneakers. "You think you can run from us, b***h?" he asked with a sneer. The promise of absolute horror in his expression made my breath hitch. I have to keep running. They can't take me back. I stood up slowly, turning my head slightly only to see two other men with glowing green eyes standing behind me. I tried to catch my breath while praying to the moon goddess to save me. "You can't take me back." I whispered. I know he heard me. They all did. Even if I doubted it, their evil laughter that suddenly erupted in the forest was enough confirmation that they did, in fact, hear me. Amidst their laughter, foreign growls sounded in the distance, pulling their loud, obnoxious laughter to an abrupt stop as they turned towards the direction it seemed to have come from. I took that opening as my opportunity to get up and sprint away, being as careful as I could be while running for my life so I did not fall flat on my face a second time. "Don't let that b***h get away again. Alpha won't be happy". I heard from behind me. I ran so fast that I didn't know where I was going until I couldn't hear them anymore. I stopped noticing a slight shift in the atmosphere. I looked around. The difference was clear. I was in another pack's land. I knew I had to leave but just as I turned I felt a sharp pain piercing through my head and it all went dark. I woke up with a pounding headache. My hand went to my head immediately while I tried to figure out where I was. I was in a cell. The smell made me crunch my nose in disgust. The wall had hand prints. The floor was dirty and I could see patches of dried red liquid. Blood. I shivered at the realization. There is a small bucket close to the tiny bed I was staying in. I stood up fast knowing I had been captured. Again. "No no no no. Please let me out". I shouted hitting the bars hard hoping someone will help. I can't stay here. I'd rather die than let the Alpha catch me again. Tears cascaded down my face. ' You're pathetic.' ' You're just a useless little omega that no one wants, not even your parents want you'. ' Why don't you just disappear?' ' You're nothing but a runt.' ' You think you're a wolf? You're just a scared little mutt.'' I could hear their voices in my head. Their words are hitting me stronger now than ever. I was made a laughing stock to all of them including the other omegas. The tears fell faster than never before. I wonder what my mate will think of me when he sees me. Will he think I'm useless? Will he reject me like how my parents did? He may look at me once before knowing I'm pathetic. I was in my thoughts and didn't know when the doors opened until I heard a deep voice. " Omega" I looked up to see a blonde haired glaring at me. His eyes held so much hatred which I'm not surprised. He wore a royal cloth and I wonder if he is related to the king. ' What no?. I'm in the royal palace ' I don't really know whether to be thankful that the Alpha didn't capture me or I should be scared. I bowed my head as he growled. "What are you doing in our land, Omega". " I didn't mean to enter your land" I said quietly. " Are you here to spy on our king?" he asked but there was venom in his voice. I winced at that. " No". I didn't know what to expect. Would they kill me for entering their land without permission?. I heard the door closed knowing he had left. I breathed a sigh of relief but I know that he will still come back. I went back to the tiny bed to sit down. The door opened again and I braced myself. It turned out to be a maid with food. Looking at the food, I realized that I haven't eaten for a while. The maid opened the cell door pushing the food inside and closing it again with speed fearing I would escape. Immediately she left, I took the food not caring if it was poisoned. If I am to die now I would love to eat before doing so. Taking the last bread from the tray, I moaned. I dropped the tray on the floor and climbed on the bed. I fell asleep immediately. I could feel him. He's close to me but my feet can't run away from him. He laughed evil knowing my state. " Please leave me." I begged. He didn't listen. He grabbed my hair slapping across the face. I felt blood dripping from the corner of my mouth. The pain was unbearable. I cried . He tore my shirt from body. I felt disgusted as he grabbed me. I tried trashing around but held me tighter. Knowing this is my fate, I didn't have the energy to fight back. I screamed when I felt a sharp pain on my waist. He going to r**e me. " No no please stop" I screamed I jolted up from the bed. Sweat fell from my forehead to my cheeks. Tears filled my eyes as the memories came back. I lean against the wall with my hands wrapped around my legs as I shake. The nightmares come anytime I fall asleep. The pain and fear I felt when the Alpha will r**e me. I felt disgusted with myself. I remember when I screamed for help. No one listened but they laughed at my misery. The cell door opened and I gasped in fright. What are they going to do to me? Do they want to kill me? But then the sweetest scent filled my nose. The scent was a mixture of mint and the woods. 'Mate, mate' my wolf enchanted. My wolf is finally here because of our mate. And that is when I saw him. His blue eyes are as bright as the ocean. He has a royal cloth on his body with a crown on his head. My mate is the Alpha King.
