Prologue
It was just a night like all the other nights in Fall Ville. Everything was quiet and calm. The only thing which was maybe a little weird was the full moon. It was pretty bright for the time of the year. And when you looked closer you could see it was bigger than usual. Even the color was a little different. If you really look closely it seems more blue than yellow and some points. But nobody really cared for it, it was just the moon. A dot in the sky which lightened the sky when it was dark at night.
Luckly for this story there are still people around who did care for the moon. It was their night and the night of newborn dragons. This full moon was special, some called it the draconids moon and others didn't even believe this little story. Dragons weren't seen for years and years, but still there were some people who claimed to have seen one. The few people with dragon blood would meet their dragon for the first time at the age of six.
And that's where our story starts. Up a mountain, the one mountain that looked over the little village of Fall Ville. Which was pretty quiet at this time of the night. Which off course was a good thing, otherwise they would probably think they are starting to see things or even turn crazy. When looking up at the mountain they would see a human man and a dog. Well not really a dog, because when they would look close enough they would see it wasn’t a normal dog at all. It was almost as high as the human when it sat down next to it. Before it turned into a woman.
'Do you think she is meeting her dragon today?' a soft woman's voice called out. While she stretched a bit and put on the cloak around her handed out by the man next to her. 'Of course she is! She is one of the last people with dragon blood in her system, she has to!' a man's voice replied. 'If she's without it all is lost..' Both of the figures just looked up at the full moon and a little sigh escaped the lips of the woman. 'I still feel like we should have kept her and not left her in this little town... Just by herself. What if she has a dragon? And she freaks out? You're the one who could calm her down and tell her everything. I know we agreed to this. But still it feels wrong. And I just wonder if things could have been different with her being with us.' The man turned around to the woman next to him while lifting his hand to caress her cheek. Which she let him do and started to lean into his hand.' I know my love. But you and I know it's better for her to live a normal life. Just as long fate let's her. I wished we could have kept her with us. But how would we manage that? Being on the run with a baby all the time? What kind of life is that for a little girl?' the man asked.' I know, I know' the woman replied softly while calming down a bit. 'It's just that I miss her so much and want to tell her all the things. And be with her, telling her she's not crazy for hearing voices in her head' She mumbles before looking up at the sky again.
Suddenly the wind starts to blow and somewhere in the distance the sound of a horn is heard. The woman looks up and sniffs the air before turning white. 'I think it's time to leave and just hope everything goes alright. Are you ready my love?' The man asks while looking at the woman who just noods. 'Alright then, just leave now before they figure out what we're doing here. We have to protect our little girl.’ He says to her while packing away the cloak in the bag pack. Before more words are said the woman turns back into the giant brown wolf and kneels a bit down so the man can climb up and they can take a run.
