CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
Josh and I chatted about random things, mostly about our son, before I went off to sleep at around three in the morning. Kyle was asleep on the couch when I walked in. So he didn’t run off to the guest room? I stopped to look at him. He looked so damn peaceful.
“Goodnight, Kyle,” I whispered even though I knew he couldn’t hear me.
As I laid in bed, I couldn’t help but wonder how the tables had turned tonight. If it were some other man who made me feel like that over one kiss, I wouldn’t have minded. As a matter of fact, I would have dropped all my self-preservation and pursued more than just a make-out session. But it was Tristan, the man who almost had me bolting out of this town like the devil himself was on my heels. Why him of all the men in this world?
