Chapter thirty-six
Except for the sound of the characters on Tv, the silence settled in the air between us. I sipped my cup of coffee, shifting a bit every now and then to adjust myself to a more comfy position. When I glanced over at Kyle, his expression was drawn into a look of concentration, habitually taking a sip of his hot chocolate. He looked perfect. And that was the thing about Kyle. He was unpredictable, mysterious and kept to himself so much and yet, somehow he made me like him more than just a friend. I don’t know how he did it but one thing I was certain of, was that if I sat here, waiting for some sign that he could possibly like me, I would only be lying to myself. I would definitely get hurt.
