Noel I stood there, my eyes locked on the chaos unfolding in front of me. Nicholas was struggling to get back on his feet, his breath ragged, his hands shaking. River, towering over him, was throwing punch after punch. Nicholas tried to swing back, but it was clear from the start that River was just too strong. I watched in disbelief as River’s fists connected with Nicholas’ face, blood staining his lip. Nicholas went down again, his body hitting the pavement with a sickening thud. I wanted to step in, but I knew it wouldn't help. River was on another level. The sounds of fists meeting flesh were enough to make me wince. The teachers came running out of nowhere, like they always do when something goes wrong. I caught sight of Mr. Edwards first, his thick glasses reflecting the sunlight
