"Dr. Jin!" Karen smiles as soon as I walk into the office.
"You have a patient inside for you." She gives me a folder.
"Thank you." I smile before walking into the examination room.
"Dr. Kim Seokjin, right?"
I look at the person before I can even look at the document.
I do admire how handsome he is, but his slightly bitter tone already riles up anger in me.
"And you are?" I raise a brow while crossing my arms.
"Park Jimin." He states with pride while his hands sit in his pocket.
"I'm Lavana More's significant other."
Briefly glancing at his appearance, I notice him also take in my appearance.
"I understand my Lavana came to see you."
"That's correct. She was complaining about back pain."
"And this required you to undress her?" He raises a brow.
"Yes, I needed to feel-"
"You touched her?" His tone darkens.
"Yes, I did," I say almost with pride. I almost enjoy the anger slowly filling in his eyes.
"Is there a problem with me touching my patient?" I ask.
He scoffs. "I just find it odd that you had to undress her yourself and touch her so inappropriately."
"And I find it odd that a corset would give her such bruising in random areas."
He scowls at me as I notice his hand slowly form into fists in his pockets.
"I will worry about what happens to Lavana, am I clear? Don't expect her to come back here."
"Anytime soon?" I tease with a raised brow.
"Ever." He mutters.
"Has a simple appointment really bothered you that much?"
"Doctor or not, I don't like the idea of another man touching my Lavana."
"Really?"
"Really." He spits.
"It's funny, Lavana seemed a bit disappointed when she had to be rid of my touch."
His glare deepens as he stands in front of me.
"Let me make myself very clear for you, Dr. Jin."
"Please do," I respond in the same foul tone.
"If I ever find out you touched my Lavana again, words will not be exchanged like I'm doing now."
"...Are threatening to hit me or Lavana?"
He lets out a sinister chuckle before walking out.
****
I needed to take a walk during my break to calm myself down.
Trying to be my usual calm, smiley self was not working as some of my patients kept asking if something was bothering me.
Walking into the quiet library, for some reason, always helped me calm down.
The peaceful silence and the smell from the pages in a good book always relaxes me.
That could be due to good old memories of when my mother read books to me when I was younger.
While looking through some mystery books I suddenly feel a tap to my leg.
"Hi." A child waves up at me.
"Hello." I smile.
"Can you help me get a book, please?" He points to the bookcase near us.
I chuckle at his cuteness before picking him up so he can grab the book he wanted.
"Thank you." He quickly hugs me before I put him down.
"Mama!" He says barely whispers before running to someone.
"L-Lavana?" I mutter her name aloud as I watch her smile at the child and take his hands before they leave.
****
"Disgusting!" I angrily throw my plate at the wall.
I don't have it in me to care about the mess I've made.
"He's as disgusting as Rorey was!" I angrily huff.
Forcing myself to calm down after there's a knock at my door, I stand up.
"Hello, Namjoon." I roughly run a hand through my hair after letting him in.
"Are you alright?"
I shake my head.
"I don't know. I just...everything tastes disgusting."
His eyebrows furrowed.
"What do you mean?"
"The prisoners I keep trying to force myself to eat. They all taste horrid." I groan.
Namjoon frowns and deeply sighs before going to clean my mess for me.
"I'm sorry." I huff after sitting down.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. You can't help what you like-"
"That's the problem. I don't like eating them, I'm just tolerating it."
He sighs before sitting next to me and putting a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised how sickening eating prisoners has become for you. I'm sure they taste as foul as the crimes they committed."
"I need something more, Namjoon. I need someone that tastes...that tastes like what I first had when I was young."
He bites the inside of his cheek while in thought.
"But what about-"
"I don't know." I sigh in defeat.
"I can't enjoy the flesh like I used to. Not unless it's something different."
"I'll see what I can do for you, I promise. Don't give up on me, my friend."
"It's you that should be giving up on me, Namjoon. I know this deal started with our fathers but...maybe we should end it someday."
"Are you sure that's what you want?" He shows some concern and surprise.
"No," I lean into my couch.
"But I think it's for the best if I try to be...normal."
