Ogre Management
The rain had stopped. The Captain and Kandar galloped along cliffs overlooking a large, beautiful lake on the backs of two prized, gilded equestrians. The sun scarcely hung above the horizon, with its rays reflecting off the water’s surface. The sound of horses’ hooves pounding on the country road, along with the far-off cry of an eagle, was all that could be heard because neither the Captain nor Kandar spoke to one another. As a matter of fact, neither had hardly looked at the other the whole journey.
Kandar was tired of trying to convince them that he was simply a dwarf caught up in a web of unnatural intrigue. The Captain, Kandar thought, probably suspected the truth but was duty-bound to serve the king and was simply obeying orders.
