I have been climbing the walls all day at work, Harrison finally had enough and sent me home at one o’clock, and I’ve been sitting in the apartment ever since, waiting for her to get back. I did offer to go with her, but Eralia refused, saying she had Margo and I needed to work, I hated letting her go alone but she was determined and with the stress she is under, I didn’t want to add to it.
Pippa nudges my knee and my hand falls instinctively to the top of her head, ruffling her fur, ‘I know girl’ I murmur, ‘but she’ll be back any minute now, she texted to say that they were leaving the defence attorney’s office, thirty minutes ago.’ I glance at my watch, it’s eight pm, the interview must have taken hours.
