Eralia’s POV I’m sitting in a large office, the whole place drips with expensive taste and money. I stare at the mahogany desk in front of me as Margo sits beside me, talking to my mother’s state appointed defence attorney. I wish Benny were here, but when he offered to come, I declined, because I didn’t want to ask him to take the day off, he’s taken so much time since the accident, sitting with Tanner, that now he’s finally returned part time, I couldn’t bring myself to ask him to take another day off. ‘We appreciate you coming here today, Miss Beaubank.’ The defence attorney’s words snap me back to the conversation, my eyes widening a little when I realise that both Margo and my mother’s attorney are both looking at me.
