Daisy’s POV Mr Mikalo’s shop flooded, I find out as I slide my key into the lock of my front door and turn it. Betty hobbles over as I push the door open, letting myself in, her eyes brimming with tears as she tells me the news, a leaky tap over a blocked sink while the shop was shut, and all his stock is ruined. I thank the older woman for telling me before I head down the few stores to the quiet man’s front door, finding it propped open, the smell of stagnant water and pulped paper wafting out toward me.
