CHAPTER 2
Adrian's Pov
It's quite clear that something was wrong with my mum in her head, she was damned sick in the brain.
As I walked out of the grand room, I suddenly felt like taking a run in the woods. As I strolled down the hallway, the whispers and murmurs that always made my day came flowing in as I allowed it to submerge into my blood.
I got outside as the cold breeze hit my face and then I decided that this was indeed the best weather to go for hunting.
But before going hunting, I made a mental note to check on someone. I immediately ran to the seer's place, if I was to find my mate then I needed to at least, know who she is, maybe the pack she hails from and maybe, her name.
When i got to the seer's coven, I entered and saw her seating on a high stool backing me.
"Wise one! Greetings." I greeted as I courtesied. I wasn't the type to courtesy or bow for any reason but I guess when you're with people that are above you, you try your best to be as humble as possible.
"Greeting, Alpha Prince Adrian! Have you come to find out more about your fated mate?." She said and swerved as that creepy and weird smile appeared at the edge of her lips.
One problem I have with seer's is that they know too much, I haven't even said a word and she had already declared my intentions.
"Yes seer! I've come to find out more about my fated mate." I concurred hoping to get relevant information.
"Interesting!! Then I think you shouldn't waste your time as it has been ordered that both you and your brother should hear anything from this priestess concerning your mates." She explained as she twirled.
" What!." I furiously asked.
" You may leave!." She ordered excusing me and I used the door as she said because trust me...the last thing you would ever want in this life is to get into a fight or argument with this woman.
I dejectedly walked out of her place as beads of sweats droplets ran down my skin.
I started taking few short strides towards the wood area but as soon as I took glimpse of the woods, I let my wolf, Phoenix out.
We ran and sprinted as we felt deeply rooted into this forest till we got to a lake, I transformed back to my human form and submerged myself into the water cooling off from the afternoon heat.
I started thinking of how good it would feel if I found my mate, not for the position or anything but for the fact that finally someone would come to love me for who I am.
Someone would care for me and stand by my side no matter what. I was still fantasizing when it felt like I heard rushes behind the bushes.
My wolf immediately readied himself in a defensive position as I scanned my environment, few minutes of alertness nothing happened.
My body and wolf calmed down, but as I was about getting into the water again. I heard rushes behind the bushes and this time, I didn't need a soothsayer to say that it was either something was been pursued or something was pursuing.
I kept my eyes on the look out for my path so I don't run or bump into whatever it was. As I stretched my eyes, I saw someone almost looking like a girl..... Okay it's a girl, running helplessly from two vicious and aggressive looking wolves.
She was almost close to me now and my first instinct was to duck, so the wolves don't see me but taking a closer look, I noticed that they were members of our rivals, the Bane Pack. The pack that eliminated my father.
Anger grew in me as they were much closer now, I immediately transformed to my wolf form and lurched towards as I used my claws to dig into their skin and my fangs piercing their bodies.
Before I could try to lurch another attack, they were already on the run. I shifted back to my human form and saw the girl's heart beating rapidly.
She looked scared and terrified and I didn't know why but I had this urge to console her and make sure she's fine.
She was seating on the grasses as tears flowed down her eyes that were shut tightly.
I didn't know how, when or where but I knew that I was admiring her.
She seemed like she was in her early twenties.
She is an epitome of beauty with a oval shaped petite face and with almond eyes, she's blonde. Her blonde hair reaching down her waist.
I used my hands to brush off a strand of her that was kind of glued to her face due to the sweat and tears, she wasn't calming down at all so I decided to try something else.
"Shh, it's okay." I whispered as I hugged her tightly.
Seems like that worked the trick because she started wailing lesser and grabbed me tightly.
" Just calm down, breathe in and breathe out." I admonished as I watched the rise and fall of her heart.
"What's your name?" I asked wondering why I felt this close to her.
"My name is Jasmine Cortex." She said in low tones in between whimpers.
"What pack do you hail from?." I asked yet again.
"Blood moon Pack. " She replied straightforwardly.
From the way she replied, you could tell that she was still very frightened.
"Okay, do you mind if I walk you back to your pack? It's not actually safe for a girl to be out here alone in the woods." I cautioned and she looked up as her eyes glistened with tears.
"You would take me back home?." She asked staring at me with those hypnotizing eyes.
"Yeah, sure." I replied and flashed her a smile.
This time, she was the one that wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly.
She stood up and dusted her body as she led the way to her pack while I trailed her behind like a knight in shining armor.
