Prologue
This all can't be real.
A bad dream… It's all a bad dream.
These were the thoughts that ran through the mind of the woman who laid on the marble floor of a luxury bedroom.
She looked rather stunning in the beautiful but crumpled two piece night dress she was wearing despite the fact that her black, long hair was messy and sprawled all over her face.
Her right hand cushioned her face from the hard floor while her left hand finally let go of an empty bottle which slowly rolled away from her.
By her left side was the exquisite king sized bed. The sheets on it lay ruffled. Clearly, more than one person had been in them.
On her right, a cool breeze kissed her face until something dark, buried deep in her already twisted mind, stirred awake.
She suddenly gasped and raised her head. Her eyes widened, filled with hope as the twisted thought took its final form in her mind.
Could it be?
All of a sudden, the large balcony on her right that she'd been mindlessly staring at for hours on end, became so beautiful.
It was now her salvation. All she saw was the path she would take to be rid of all her troubles. If she could take it, she would be free.
Freedom. Finally, I can be free.
She slowly got up from her position and made her way towards the balcony, staggering as she did so.
She felt like this was the way out of her horrible dream.
Her hair and clothes danced wildly to the tune of the wind as she took hold of the railings and peered down. In no time, one hand after the other on the cold railing, she swung herself up and balanced on top of it.
Below her was a garden of thorny roses.
Yet, all she saw was heaven.
She smiled. Yes, her grave would be a bed of thorny roses.
How poetic, She mused.
She let out a light, victorious laugh as she spread her arms apart like a bird, taking a last look at the world before her.
Then she jumped…
