Prologue
The Wells family holds power, especially now that it's the new generation's turn. Everyone is on edge, holding their breath, and for the alpha of Reveland, seeing his cubs become men fills him with pride, but it also causes headaches when none of them can make a decision.
He can't ignore that far from the outskirts of his kingdom, HasHill watches from the shadows. The young cub and successor to hostile lands is achieving what his father never did, and he clicks his tongue just thinking that he could be much better than him.
A shiver runs down the alpha's spine, but it's not from fear, but admiration for Patrick Wells' son.
"Do you know anything about Diago's engagement?" Salvatore asked, he shouldn't overshadow his son's wedding.
"Everything indicates that there was a change of plans," the alpha frowned, the poor wolf lowered his face in fear.
"Everything indicates that it will be as soon as possible."
"Good, get out of here, you must inform me of anything," the alpha declared.
A smile formed on Salvatore's face; at least he wouldn't be a danger now. Besides, the Kroods weren't that powerful, while his sons would have complete dominance at the top of the hierarchy. Stev had to forge ties with a Pett, Bremman would have Hasreveland. He felt proud and pleased that his plans wouldn't change at all.
He knew his sons perfectly well and also knew about the mess they were making, but he wasn't going to let his guard down with Diago Wells.
While Stev tortured that human woman, he gets what he wants and how he wants it, especially when she looked at him with a simple flirtatious glance; that was enough to make his d**k hard.
"You...You'll let me go, I..." The alpha clicked his tongue, he was annoyed by her stupid behavior; she was foolish and useless, yet opening her legs for him forgave everything, but only in that moment.
"Why should I? You're mine, do you understand? You should have thought about that before seeing me and desiring me, right?"
"I...I just want to go home." "This is your home now," the alpha replied before closing the door, leaving her trembling there.
She stumbled upon his brother, who knew the secret behind that door. The young wolf crossed his arms with amusement, knowing how to get what he wanted now.
"How much will your silence cost me?" Stev clicked his tongue; it would be expensive, and of course, he would say something stupid.
"Convince my father to annul the stupid marriage with those things."
"Be more careful how you say that, Ferbella is my friend, and you will marry her," the alpha demanded.
"Of course, it would be different if she wasn't chasing after your d**k every time she sees you," the young man commented, leaning against the wall. "She's pretty."
"Don't you dare," he replied, grabbing his brother by the neck. "Don't meddle in my s**t, and I won't meddle in yours."
"Relax, I won't tell my father anything as long as you support me, you know, or why don't you just sleep with her, and then I can claim she's not pure, you know, an offended wolf," the wolf smiled mischievously. "Don't worry, I won't get jealous, and you can even perforate her uterus."
"Is that what you want?"
"I know you'll do it," he patted his older brother's cheek. "Don't fail me."
He smiled mischievously and hugged his brother, ruffling his hair, leaving the human girl behind, screaming where no one would hear her. Bremman stepped aside when they arrived at the Wells mansion. His fiancée was there, her gaze lost on his brother. He clicked his tongue and stepped aside, passing by her indifferently as if she didn't exist, something that didn't bother the young brunette; her interest was in the eldest of the Wells brothers.
Ferbela couldn't deny that she was completely in love with the eldest of the Wells brothers.
"Hello, I was looking for you, but..."
"You have to stop doing that," he interrupted, placing his finger on her lips. "Why do you do it? It annoys me that you do it, Ferbela. You're going to marry my brother, don't offer me what you're offering because I'll take what's free, and even then I won't be with you. Do you understand that? I'm a wolf and I have needs."
"I... I'm sorry," she replied, trying not to let tears well up in her eyes. "Bremman barely looks at me, he doesn't like me for who I am, but you're different."
"He will. I'll protect you from him, you know I will, but..." He remembered his brother's promise, the thought of how much his father's fury would cost him crossed his mind. "We can see each other later, okay?"
"Yes, Stev," she said, her face brightening. "Even so, you can't stop me from loving you, not in the way you mean."
"You know that's a lie, I love you, Ferbela," he leaned closer to her lips. "Do you doubt it?"
"Then why don't you show it? You love me, you do, even when you deny it, I love you." the brown-haired woman with fiery eyes confessed.
She had to do whatever it took, and if she had to give herself to him, she would do it for love, no matter the consequences.
"But you're not what I want," he replied coldly. "You want me to sleep with you? Fine! I can do that, but don't ask for more than being the other woman."
"St..."
"Go home, I'll look for you later, okay? You don't want to marry my brother, then don't, but you should know that your grandmother accepted it, and now that she's dead, you must fulfill the agreement, marry a Wells, but it won't be me."
"I understand, I can see it in your eyes, there's someone else, I can see her aura on you."
"Don't do that," the alpha growled, grabbing her arm. "Don't make me regret it, Ferbela."
"You're right, I shouldn't," she replied, pushing him away. Stev watched her leave, annoyed. He didn't see her as someone he could marry; perhaps he had resigned himself to the idea that she would be his sister-in-law, just a friend, or nothing more than a sister. But everyone noticed the strong bond they shared, which irritated his father, preventing Ferbela and Bremman from accepting each other.
"Why do you never visit me? I'm your fiancée!" Diago rubbed his forehead, disgusted by this whole mess and especially by that she-wolf with princess airs. "I'm talking to you! Look at me, Diago, I'm your girlfriend! You don't touch me anymore. Of course, that disgusting b***h is no more of a woman than I am! Do you hear me? I'm going to kill her and put her on our wedding table!"
"Do whatever the hell you want, you disgust me, and if I haven't touched you again, it's because I can't stand the sight of your face."
"You're an i***t! You like to sleep with the maids, and that b***h is dead! Do you hear me? I'll be your moon, not that damn woman!"
"Think whatever you want," he clicked his tongue irritably, grabbed his jacket, and was ready to leave. "And at least she swallows it all without complaining, while you can't even give a decent blowjob."
"You're not going to cancel anything, if that's what you're thinking. One way or another, Diago Wells, this engagement will happen." Diago looked at her and knew she was completely crazy. His father must have been out of his mind to arrange his marriage to that she-wolf.
"I'm leaving, do you hear me?" he exploded as she threw a tantrum. "I won't fall for your stupid games, you stupid she-wolf."
"Diago, come back! Diago!"
The wolf hurried away from the Kroods' lands, anger coursing through his entire being. He reached the lake, needing to splash water on his face. He refreshed himself a little and threw stones until he was exhausted.
Ferbella wiped away her tears; she was on the other side of the hill. She hated not being loved in return; she didn't like Bremman, he wasn't good, and he only pretended to tolerate her in front of others. She had seen him with a she-wolf from the Croolwolf pack, and he seemed to enjoy that she-wolf's company; they were perfect for each other. She wiped her face until she reached the river she had to cross to get to her lands, but first, she had to pass through HasHill; just seeing that place sent shivers down her spine.
She noticed the swirling water, and the current seemed restless. She hesitated to cross, but darkness was approaching, and she hated being outside; it was dangerous for someone to see her and try to steal her light, especially since she was destined to rule Hasreveland.
She advanced through the stream, stepping on the rocks that prevented her from being swept away by the current, but a misstep made her stumble and fall. Her ankle twisted; she tried to hold onto the rocks, but the current was too strong. She struggled, grabbing onto branches; it would be foolish for her to die this way. She stopped fighting, at the very moment she should have met her death.
Diago thought he had had enough, especially of putting up with that stupid woman. He would make her life a living hell, and she would make the decision to leave him. He advanced towards HasHill, and a woman's scream made him react as he saw her struggling against the current.
He ran quickly, shouting at her to grab his hand. The nymph could barely react to the shock and was sinking deeper and deeper. He extended his hand so she could grab it; the mere touch caused an electric current to surge through the wolf's entire body. Her skin, that skin... he let out a fierce growl, pulling her out of the water, her body colliding forcefully against his.
"Hey, are you okay?" he asked, noticing how she trembled against his chest without looking at him.
Ferbella still couldn't help but feel agitated and shaky from what had happened; her face was soaked against the alpha's chest, who held her tightly. “I asked you a question…” Her words hung in the air as she lifted her face.
A growl escaped Diago's lips, and he froze at the sight of those fiery eyes. Ferbela's irises dilated as the wolf's gaze darkened.
“Diago…” He was perplexed to recognize who she was and the confident way she spoke his name.
“You?” he asked incredulously, sending shivers down the nymph's spine.
She knew him perfectly well, just as he knew her, but it was that sound from his throat again that unleashed the beast within him.
A beast that demanded possession, regardless of the consequences.
She was afraid, and rightly so.
“Ferbella,” the nymph trembled at how he said her name and the way he was looking at her; it was insane and filled with lust.
She broke free from the one who saved her, took a few clumsy steps, and, still somewhat disoriented, struggled to breathe. She was magical, but even so, she wasn't immune to the simplest forms of death, and for her, this was the day she would die, whether by water or by him.
"You should be careful, nymph," she turned around, startled by the hoarse voice. "You shouldn't be here, much less alone. Do you know what I mean? Or hasn't your foolish boyfriend warned you? When you set foot on HasHill, it's as if you belong to it from the first breath." Ferbela looked around, the sinister wind surrounding her.
"I appreciate your help, and I know I shouldn't be here, I must go," she had to leave as soon as possible. "G-Goodbye."
"You're right, you shouldn't be here, especially not in these lands," his alpha voice stopped her abruptly. "Especially not you."
Ferbela's fiery eyes met the wolf's serious gaze. She knew him perfectly well, and she feared him. She looked around at where she was now, in HasHill territory. And his warning reeked of danger.
The son of Alpha Patrick, Diago Wells, Ferbela cursed herself, remembering the threat from long ago.
"I must go," she replied fearfully, especially because of the way he was looking at her.
"Go?" the wolf took a step closer. He had a bad taste in his mouth from arguing with his fiancée, but seeing the nymph tremble seemed amusing to him. "Where?" He stalked her stealthily, especially the image she was presenting.
He was a wolf, and he had a hard-on.
She lowered her gaze and realized that her dress was clinging to her skin, revealing her breasts and her n*****s erect from the cold, as was her intimacy. She reacted by covering herself, but the wolf only smiled, approaching her.
"Are you going to cover yourself?" he mocked ironically. "Don't you think it's too late to do that?"
"No!" "—she screamed with her hands outstretched—I...I'll leave...I must go," she backed away. "Please...just...Just don't look at me."
"Leave? See you? Because you'll leave without paying for your rescue, that's how your people are," and she stopped abruptly. "Even Wells likes to be thanked, Nymph."
"Pay...Pay..." the nymph's eyes widened when she felt him touch her collarbone.
"Yes, pay," he licked his lips.
"I...I have nothing to pay with..." Diago shrugged indifferently, grabbing her arm tightly.
"I've never been with a nymph, I wonder what it would feel like to tear you apart, or I could settle for a blowjob, but you know I never settle for little," he confessed, whispering in her ear, "You're trembling, a grave mistake."
"Please...Please...I...I'm Bremman's fiancée," she whispered, barely managing to make her voice heard.
"The fiancée who desires his brother, do you think no one knows? His protégé, tell me what he'll do after he finds out you're mine," he growled, throwing her to the ground and positioning himself between her legs. Ferbella squeezed her eyes shut, her hands clawing at the earth while the alpha of HasHill tore her clothes. "You must pay, and you know that a nymph always pays her debts," the wolf growled.
