The Rouge

Liam's POV

She rejected the offer, I have never felt so heartbroken. I know I wasn't expecting it to be very easy but I wasn't expecting her to turn down the position of my assistant.

Technically there wasn't really an opening for that position because Michael is my personal assistant and beta but I wanted something that will enable her come to the pack house and be close to me always.

The rules and regulations started in the contract were all selfish and one sided just to make me have her presence always. But she turned it down.

My mind went back to what happened in the office, I couldn't believe that she could be that close to me and Lexi won't make an attempt to pounce in her and mark her.

She was smelling so good that it took everything I had inside to keep my hands to myself. although I know she is human but a strange thing happened when we were together in the office.

Someone was trying to get into mind. Good thing I had my walls up I chuckled to myself while reading her files. It was actually a pretense because I have read that file over and over again that I practically know every word that is written there.

While thinking of the best way to start off our conversation my mind was being invaded again and this time the person was trying to break down my calls.

I raised up my head and although I was looking at her but I was trying to sense if there was any danger around us. The look of surprise on her face got me wondering if she was the one trying to break down my walls but she is just a human. Humans don't have the ability to read minds.

Or do they? I silently stilled questioned myself, I decided to let it after mind linking Micheal if he was the one trying to get to get in touch with me which he said nothing.

He noticed her change in countenance as soon as the contract was mentioned i don't know what she was thinking but i know she wasn't going to buy the idea.

She shook her head and she said No. I was devastated i really wanted her to me always.

I quickly spider thinking of another plan but before i could come up with something she was up and walking towards to door to leave.

Lexi sprang into action by moving me towards her immediately, I saw the surprise in her eyes when I held her hands. I also noticed the excitement signs from her body. The mate bond is definitely affecting her but being a human she can't understand the pull she is feeling towards her.

Lexi took part control and we ended up touching her gently than we are expected as her new boss.

I wanted to do more than just touch her hands and almost kiss her. I want to feel the fullest of her lips and touch her in all the exciting parts of her body.

We want to make her feel things that nobody has ever made her feel before. We are itching to make sweet love to our mate and mark her as ours for life.

But all that has to wait till when she has fully accepted us and also knows about us. That's my biggest fear now. Considering her aunt never told her about us it won't be easy telling her about us and even her aunt too. I intend getting Carla to do the talking first before I open up to her about us. But even with that conclusion I still need to keep her close to us always, so watching her leave now was the hardest thing we could ever do but she needs to make her decision herself.

I mind linked Michael as soon as she was out of the door 'get the car ready we are going with her home'

“Yes alpha” he replied curtly

I really don't know why I decided to follow her home, call it the wolf nature but I just need to make sure she is safe. So we went silently behind her. When she got home we packed some distance away from the house to watch her. I really am behaving like a stalker now.

“Have you satisfied yourself yet alpha?” Micheal mocked asked me while trying not to laugh at me.

But just as we were about having a good life I noticed the scent of a rogue around. Lexi became alert immediately and we began scanning the environment. Micheal also was on high alert. I suggested he called Kylie to be sure she is fine.

When he called her she picked on the third ring which caused a relief through me but then because she doesn't know about us she might not really know a rogue when she sees one.

I asked him to continue the conversation for a while because Lexi kept feeling something was off. Just when he was about ending the conversation we heard a strange voice talking in the background.

Her scream alerted to the fact that she doesn't know this person. Lexi couldn't have more attentive than he is now after hearing our mate scream like that. We ran straight to the house and knocked down the door and what we saw made our blood boil.

KYLIE POV

I screamed like I have never screamed before, a strange looking man standing at the kitchen entrance with a long butchers knife smiling weirdly at me. As I screamed he moved with unimaginable speed and covered my mouth with his hands.

“I'm going to enjoy killing you so all the stress that you have given me these past years. it feels so good to see you again and end you for good” he whispered into my ears

Stress? See me again? what is this mad man talking about? I have never seen him in my life and I would say so confidently because I can never forget a face like his if I see him.

While still struggling to pull off him his hands started choking me my vision became blurry but was clear enough to see my front door knocked down by no other than Liam Hunter.

Tears suddenly came to my eyes painfully, here I was dying without saying goodbye and my knight in shining armour has come to rescue me. The anger I saw in his eyes cannot be described. subconsciously I read the thoughts of the man who has reduced the force of choking me but rather was using me as a defence against Liam.

“No I mustn't fail boss otherwise I will be doom. I have failed too many times already if I fail now she will never let me live that's for sure.” The scary man whispered

Wait so the person that wants me dead is a SHE. Liam started walking fast towards him and he quickly placed the blade on my neck. Liam had to stop when he saw that, the man gradually started pulling me towards the kitchen exit.

You don't want to do that pal. let her go and I will go easy on you." Liam said to him.

My tears could not be controlled I couldn't shout or defend myself. Looking at Liam wanting to fight for me I felt overwhelmed but still he might get injured or killed in the process so I'm also scared and that fear cause me to react immediately by biting into the hand of the man holding the knife.

He screamed a little and hit my head with the wooden handle of the blade and threw me towards Liam. I could hear Liam scream and then another scream which I think came from the man. Everything became blurry, I think I saw Micheal also. When did he come in?

“Don't worry princess I've got you. you are safe now” I could hear Liam saying to me.

Before I gradually slipped into the darkness I heard a tiny voice saying,

“We are fine, we will heal from this.” The voice was so comforting and it was a female voice.

Initially I wanted to open my eyes to see the speaker because that voice just like Liam's voice gave me a sense of peace but whoever is the owner of the voice seems to know what I was thinking and quickly whispered

“shhh! sleep now, you need all the strength you are gather for the days ahead young one.”

She cooed me like a baby alluring me into the darkness fully.

Giving up on finding the owner of the voice I accepted the darkness and it became comforting

as every other thing faded away from my hearing.
