FALLING FOR HIM

Liam's POV

He couldn't stop from pacing up and down the corridors of the hospital ward waiting for the doctor to come out. He felt like spilling blood and mostly the blood of that rogue.

Although it is known that rogues hardly do anything without taking orders from a higher authority, it is never heard that a rogue can do what this particular one did at Kylie's house.

After hitting Kylie on the head and running out the kitchen backdoor because he was busy trying to make sure that no other harm comes to her while falling he didn't go after the rogue himself. He immediately took her to the pack hospital mind linking Micheal that the rogue went through the kitchen, he was shocked when Micheal said I know.

Micheal came to the hospital and when he asked him about the rogue, he said the man killed himself with the knife as soon as he saw that Micheal was about to capture him. The most surprising part was that Micheal said the rogue smiled and said more will come after her before he died.

What does he mean that more will come after him. who was after his Luna and what do they want from her?

He kept asking these questions and at the same time being worried about what the doctors were still doing in the room with her.

Lexi is scratching at his head to come out and take matters into his own paws. But he knows that not the best solution for now, he needs to be in control to be able to work things out clearly.

The door opened and the doctor came out, maybe it was the aura that he was emitting or the fear of what happened inside but he could see fear written all over their faces and that got him more angry. He pounced immediately on the doctor

“How is she? is everything okay in there?” he saw the look on the doctor's face intensify and knew that it was his aura that was scaring him.

But right now is not the time to be scared he wants to know. Sensing that if he continues this way he might not get the answer he needs he had to calm down

The doctor finally relax too and answered,

“She is fine. no damage was done. she should be up in another 3 hours give or take.”

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes to calm himself down properly.

“Can I see her now” I asked my voice coming out raspily

“Sure alpha but you have to be quiet because the drugs are heavy and she needs rest to heal faster.”

I thanked the doctor and went in to see my mate. Seeing her sleeping so peaceful, I couldn't help but smile for the first time since the whole ordeal started.

I can't believe what was happening to me, I didn't want a mate, never searched for her like others do and didn't even believe she existed somewhere. And now just day after finding her, I'm about loosing her. Thinking of it now is bringing in a new and fresh anger to me heart again. This also agitated Lexi.

“Hey buddy am sorry for that, we will keep her safe. We have her now and by the moon goddess we will not allow anything evil to come near her..” I spoke gently to Lexi to calm him down.

I walked closeer to her and gently touched her cheeks. The sparks jumped through my hands into my body sending different waves of emotions that just made me smile more.

“Hey beautiful I can't wait for us to have a proper conversation and let me show you the world. I promise to keep you safe always no matter what happens so please wake up for me. open those beautiful hazel eyes for me to see.”

In order to achieve the goal of keeping her safe there are some things I really need to put in place and although I know what to do but I don't want to take the chance of leaving her alone in the hospital so the first line of business was to call Carla.

Just as I brought out my phone Micheal came in and following him closely was Carla. she rushed in but pause to acknowledge me.

“Alpha” she greeted with a bow.

I responded with a nod, and gestured her to go on. she rushed to Kylie but gently touched her cheeks holding back her tears. After taking her time to satisfy herself she took straight and looked at me

“We need to talk now..” I mind linked her.. she responded with a curt nod.

After taking one final look at my mate again I quietly stepped out of the room with Carla following behind.

We walked a little bit away from the room and I asked the question that has being eating me up since I saw the rogue with the blade to her neck

“What was it that you have being running from with your niece and how much danger is she in”?

I looked at her face I could see the surprise looks on her face though she answered with hesitation

“I wasn't running from anything or anyone. my sister died brutally and I didn't want the memory to stick with Kylie for the rest of her life so I decided to move, but then after some time past I miss my pack and wanted to come back. Kylie's best friend was also here and she kept going on and on about how great the school system is here. She was the one that convinced me or us to move back here”.

Although part of the story seems to be true but I can also tell she is lying about something. She is avoiding my eyes and also talking too fast. Years of experience as an alpha and dealing with different people has taught me a thing or two about people and when they are being truthful. But I'm just going to pretend and act like I do believe her.

“She is my mate" he dropped the bomb shell.

Her eyes widen with shock and she swallow a large gulp of saliva that I heard. She was fidgeting for no reason and couldn't hid those emotions properly.

“When, I mean how is that even possible. no no no not again.” She pulled her hair in a messy bun that got me thinking that's wrong with me having her niece as my mate.

This just goes on to confirm what I was thinking. There was more to the story that what she just said

“I don't really know what is going on here but that lady in there is my mate and I swear to the moon goddess if you don't calm down this minute and tell me all I need to know about what's going on I will so help you rip out your heart personal after getting every last bit of information from you through long and hard torture. It might hurt her to know about it but I don't really want to care right now because I need to know what am up against. So if there is anything I need to know you better start talking now.” I thundered at her with Lexi taking the leading in making her feel their alpha strength.

He made sure that the aura that she is feeling would be that of his alpha dominance causing her to scum easily

“I swear I never knew this was going to happen. When she insisted that we come back her, I had to do a little investigation myself to be sure that she would be safe" She started talking in-between tears and almost choking.

I calmed down and riled in Lexi too. He held her up from the ground and took her outside the hospital

“Micheal keep a close watch on her, I need to have a conversation with Carla” I mind linked Micheal.

“Yes alpha” he answered immediately.

Has the mess at the apartment being cleaned up. Then have someone clean up the Luna's room. I am taking her home after she wakes up” I said to Micheal with the mind link

“That will be done immediately alpha.” Micheal replied excited. “congratulations bro” he quickly added before I blocked him.

We walked out of the hospital and entered a cafe that was a few blocks away from the hospital.

After sitting the waitress came to take our orders and we order coffee with some side snacks.

After the waitress has brought in our order which is what he wanted. I didn't want to start the conversation and then get cut off when the waitress comes to deliver our order so I had to wait until we were done with all before hitting the nail on the head.

“Now tell me everything truthfully this time from the beginning.” I said

She took a deep breath and started...

“Well it all started after my brother James met Edith who is Kylie mother. It was love at first sight.

I loved her too because she was the splitting image of who Kylie is right now and you can't help not love Kylie.
