"Pregnant!" I squawked like some sort of demented parrot. I felt Maddison wince at the level of noise I was making.
"But I can't be! It was only one night."
"Once is all, it takes my love." Thea laughed. "Gosh don't they teach you anything in schools these days?"
Evidently not. I thought the Moon Goddess frowned upon giving pups to couples that weren't fated mates. Apparently though, she would give you one at the worst possible moment of your life. Great!
Thea stood then. "Let me get you some breakfast. You need to keep your strength up."
I blinked at her in utter bewilderment.
"For the baby. You're eating for two now." She laughed again, before leaving me to my own thoughts. As soon as she was gone, I was straight on at Maddy.
