Chapter 29Agostini's 'Lightbulb'
Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Agostini had until recently shared the same rank as Andy Ross. When his predecessor as head of the murder investigation team, Harry Porteous, announced his retirement, his job and a promotion was offered to Ross, who turned it down, preferring to remain 'in the field' on active investigations. Ross was delighted when his old friend and one-time partner, Detective Inspector Oscar Agostini was promoted and handed the job.
The two men had worked together many years earlier and had remained firm friends ever since, and Ross had no problem in working for Agostini, the pair retaining a respectful but friendly working relationship during office hours whilst being able to remain as before in their own time.
