Chapter 23Hands Across the Sea
Detective Constable Paul Ferris was happily typing search instructions into his computer when D.C.I. Agostini walked in to the squad room. The Chief Inspector placed a hand on Ferris's shoulder and the D.C almost jumped out of his skin.
“Wow, sorry about that, Ferris,” the boss said with a smile. “You were miles away there, lost in your work I'm pleased to see.”
Relaxing slightly, Ferris stood up as he replied.
“I was, sir. It can really pull you in once you get started searching the internet for information. I'm finding some very interesting stuff about Aegis, but nothing specifically illegal so far.”
“I see, but it sounds as though you suspect there could be something there if you dig deeper, am I correct?”
