In the state of confusion about whether or not to read aloud the letter I just received from the school, my hand trembled which my mother did not notice. She, with her eyes on me, patiently waited to hear the content.
"What is it about? Did you make a mistake that requires me to see the school principal?"
My brain worked out fast to make an excuse to avoid reading the letter. "It's only the students' parents meeting which is not that important." I bit my lower lips for the lie my mouth had produced which hurt my heart with regret and guilt. Not only did I stab my mother with this wicked lie but also the incident I faced at school.
