Instead of hospitality, I sensed a spark of fury in the nice tone of her voice which she disguised behind her fake-smiley face. Without hearing my agreement, she turned on her heel and walked through the hallway, expecting me to trail behind her toward the private space near the teacher's office. My feet obeyed my brain, taking steps behind her with silence muffling my mouth until the quiet room greeted us.
