Grey's POV
I stood back up. I knew I couldn't lose to this crazy creature that had suddenly attacked me for no reason.
Bamm!
I was slammed back to the ground. The slobbering creature pressed its paws against my chest. Its long tongue extended and curled around my neck. It pulled on the carrion-smelling tongue until I was almost out of breath.
"Patro!" someone's voice echoed in my ears.
"Patro, let him go!" The shout turned the strange animal's fierce eyes into those of a puppy pleading with its master.
He released the noose of his tongue around my neck. I coughed, trying to stand up from where I had fallen.
