Chapter 48 Jess, Teeko and the robot moved quickly through corridors which were showing more and more signs of neglect and disrepair. In some places it was simply the number of closed and boarded up doors and windows. In others stinking piles of rubbish were left to rot. Some buildings had been boarded up but then broken into. The rooms were cloaked in darkness, hiding whoever or whatever lay within. Jess shivered as he moved past them, skin prickling as unseen eyes watched him walk by.
