Chapter 33 It was nearly midnight when Clay decided to take his chance. Everyone else should be asleep. Well, most of them anyway. He moved towards the door, preparing to use Jemat’s ID band. Sweat coated his hands. So much depended on this step. Without it the plan, such as it was, would be bound to fail. Steadying himself with a deep breath he reached out and activated the door, tensing as it slid open. Clay stuck his head out, looking both ways. The corridor was clear. He started to breathe again.
