Sal’s heart was hammering. Jess! Jess was here! Only the calm presence of the Gift had let her avoid being spotted in return. A part of her was disappointed. She longed to see Jess. To speak with him. To share the Gift with him.
Not now. Not here. She was certain he would still be hostile to the Gift, as so many were until they received it. She had more important work to do.
