Chapter 7
The drones were ready. Jess ran through the plan one last time. The timing had to be right. If some of the drones moved into position too early or too late everything would fail.
He couldn’t find any flaws. Every passing moment took the Wanderer further from the tunnel. Stomach knotted, Jess launched the drones.
The first drone was given the biggest push, shoved away from the Wanderer with enough force to carry it to the tunnel. The second followed soon after with slightly less force. The others started taking their turns.
Jess studied those already on their way, checking their progress against the plan. So far everything was going smoothly. So far.
